Girl out of Water
by Laura Silverman
Signed Paperback Giveaway
U.S. Only

Sourcebooks Fire
Released 5/2/2017

Anise Sawyer plans to spend every minute of summer with her friends: surfing, chowing down on fish tacos drizzled with wasabi balsamic vinegar, and throwing bonfires that blaze until dawn. But when a serious car wreck leaves her aunt, a single mother of three, with two broken legs, it forces Anise to say goodbye for the first time to Santa Cruz, the waves, her friends, and even a kindling romance, and fly with her dad to Nebraska for the entire summer.

Living in Nebraska isn’t easy. Anise spends her days caring for her three younger cousins in the childhood home of her runaway mom, a wild figure who’s been flickering in and out of her life since birth, appearing for weeks at a time and then disappearing again for months, or even years, without a word.

Complicating matters is Lincoln, a one-armed, charismatic skater who pushes Anise to trade her surfboard for a skateboard. As Anise draws closer to Lincoln and takes on the full burden and joy of her cousins, she loses touch with her friends back home – leading her to one terrifying question: will she turn out just like her mom and spend her life leaving behind the ones she loves?

Author Question: What is your favorite thing about Girl out of Water?

I love all the family dynamics, especially Anise’s cousins. I want to be friends (or family!) with all of them IRL. I want to skateboard with Parker and Nash and binge The Office with Emery and eat ridiculous amounts of ice cream with all three of them.

And, yes, I also am in love with the love interest Lincoln *heart-eyes*

Love and Vandalism
by Laurie Boyle Crompton
Paperback
Sourcebooks Fire
Released 5/1/2017

He calls it fate. She calls it blackmail.

Rory has a secret: she's the vandal who paints graffiti lions all over her small town. If her policeman dad knew, he'd probably disown her. So when Hayes, a former screw-up on the path to recovery, catches her in the act, Rory's sure she's busted. Instead, he makes her a deal. If Rory shows him around town, he won't turn her in. It might be coercion, but at least the boy is hot.

As they spend more time together, Rory worries she made the wrong choice. Hayes has a way of making her want things she shouldn't want and feel emotions she's tried to bury. Rory's going to have to distance herself from Hayes or confront a secret she can't bring herself to face...

Author Question: What is your favorite thing about Love and Vandalism?

I have two favorite things about LOVE AND VANDALISM. The first is that the book is completely written already which is my very favorite type of book project. The finished kind. This is not to say that I don’t enjoy writing because honestly, I love it. But the finishing part is really the very best part and now I’m super-excited for readers to meet Rory, which brings me to my other favorite thing about LOVE AND VANDALISM—main character and resident teen badass, Rory! Rory is so much her own person that even though I wrote her story from her point of view I still don’t feel like she belongs to me at all. She’s amazing and it was exhilarating to immerse myself in scenes of her painting graffiti with my heart pounding. She’s so much bolder than I am!

But even more than Rory’s boldness, I love the way she grows through the story. She is very closed off when we first meet her, but she’s trying to share her pain through her artwork. Heartache takes all different shapes and forms and Rory is in such acute pain, it obviously affects her decisions and actions. Although she seems jaded (and has a few genuine anger issues), she’s really very vulnerable. All it takes is a totally-not-her-type guy from Queens to help her learn to open up. Hayes has his own problems to overcome, so of course things get messy fast. But then, life is messy if you’re living it right! I loved spending time with Rory and I just know readers will as well.

Stealing Candy
by Stewart Lewis
Paperback
Sourcebooks Fire
Released 5/1/2017

Candy hates boarding school. As a junior, graduation is still eons away, and making films is the only way to survive the boredom. Until she is kidnapped.

Candy panics. Along Came a Spider, Ransom, Taken, Cellular… Candy knows how these movies end. The only reason anyone would abduct her is to get a payout from her rock star father. Except Candy and her father are estranged. There’s no way he’s going to pay.

But with every hour that passes, Candy’s fear slowly recedes. Being on the road is freeing, not to mention great material for a new documentary. And the more time she spends with her handsome captor Levon, the more she learns the whole scheme is not just about ransom. It’s about revenge. What began as a kidnapping is spiraling into a crazy road trip adventure as Candy and Levon find a lot of wrong ways to do the right thing.

Author Question: What is your favorite thing about Stealing Candy?

The character of Candy. I loved creating her and feel like she's a character I'd want to follow anywhere.

Violet Grenade
by Victoria Scott
Hardcover
Entangled: Teen
Released 5/2/2017

DOMINO: A runaway with blood on her hands.

CAIN: A silent boy about to explode.

MADAM KARINA: A woman who demands obedience.

WILSON: The one who will destroy them all.

When Madam Karina discovers Domino in an alleyway, she offers her a position inside her home for entertainers in secluded West Texas. Left with few alternatives and an agenda of her own, Domino accepts. It isn’t long before she is fighting her way up the ranks to gain the madam’s approval. But after suffering weeks of bullying and unearthing the madam’s secrets, Domino decides to leave. It’ll be harder than she thinks, though, because the madam doesn’t like to lose inventory. But then, Madam Karina doesn’t know about the person living inside Domino’s mind.

Madam Karina doesn’t know about Wilson.

Author Question: What is your favorite thing about Violet Grenade?

My favorite part of VIOLET GRENADE is Wilson. Wilson is the voice inside the main character, Domino's, head. He formed after something traumatic happened to her, and now serves as her protector. Though he is a figment of Domino's imagination (or is he?), he has his own personality, opinions, and desires. I can't wait for everyone to meet him!

New York Times bestselling author Kimberly McCreight raises the stakes in the second book of the heart-pounding Outliers trilogy, a uniquely speculative story about secrets, betrayal, and a world where one small group of people are blessed—or cursed—with an incredible power.

Wylie may have escaped the camp in Maine, but she is far from safe. The best way for her to protect herself is to understand her ability, fast. But after spending a lifetime trying to ignore her own feelings, giving in to her ability to read other peoples’ emotions is as difficult as it is dangerous.

And Wylie isn’t the only one at risk. Ever since they returned home, Jasper has been spiraling, wracked with guilt over what happened to Cassie. After all they’ve been through together, Wylie and Jasper would do anything for each other, but she doesn’t know if their bond is strong enough to overcome demons from the past.
