After James Comey’s testimony to the Senate last week, many began to openly question the need for a special counsel. After all, Trump was never under investigation. However, Robert Mueller continues to carry on with the Trump-Russia nonsense.
After the media’s glowing portrayal of Mueller, one would get the impression that the former FBI director is a reincarnated Eliot Ness. This not true at all. In fact, back in 2012, Mueller worked with the radical Muslims of the Islamic Society of North America in order to remove “radical Islam” from FBI training manuals, via Judicial Watch.
Like Comey and former CIA head honcho John Brennan, Robert Mueller is another political hack with leftist leanings.
Mueller is also a liar who told Congress that the FBI never conducted surveillance on protesters during the presidency of George W. Bush.
Again, one must ask why Mueller is even working anymore? Even far-leftists like Chris Matthews have admitted that the how Russian hacking conspiracy is hollow, via Washington Examiner.
Mueller’s continued employment by the Justice Department is simply more evidence that the permanent class in Washington, D.C. will never rest as long as Donald Trump is president.
The swamp creatures of the Potomac know full well that their pet story about Russian interference during the 2016 election is complete balderdash. They very likely have no desire to prove it at all.
Their only aim to delegitimize the Trump administration in the eyes of the American people in order to hand Congress back over to the Democrats in 2018.
It should also be noted that many in the D.C. establishment, including the intelligence agencies and the FBI, are diehard Clintonites. They fear that an invigorated American public might demand greater investigations into political corruption in the federal government.

The Justice Department’s new anti-Trump investigator, former FBI Director Robert Mueller, misled Congress in 2006 about FBI surveillance of peaceful anti-Iraq War groups, according to a 2010 DOJ inspector general report. On Wednesday, Deputy Attorney General Rod Rosenstein tasked Mueller with investigating President Donald J. Trump’s nonexistent election collusion with Russia.
The report examines Senate testimony Mueller provided about FBI surveillance of a 2002 anti-war protest in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, saying that Mueller “unintentionally provided inaccurate testimony to Congress in May 2006.” According to the report from the DOJ Office of the Inspector General, Mueller took at their word FBI staff either lying or incompetently ignorant about the intention of the Pittsburgh surveillance operation, which tracked Catholic pacifists associated with the Thomas Merton Center.
Mueller’s FBI surveilled American citizens trying to halt the inevitably disastrous Iraq invasion that was to come—all under the false pretense of fighting terrorism.
“In late November 2002,” read the report, “a probationary FBI agent in the Pittsburgh Field Division attended a public anti-war leafleting event sponsored by the Thomas Merton Center. The agent’s supervisor sent him to the rally on a slow work day (the day after Thanksgiving) and instructed him to look for Pittsburgh Field Division international terrorism subjects.”
That’s even though Mueller told Congress the FBI attended the event with a specific terrorism-related individual in mind.
With Democrat extremists, alongside backstabbing Republicans like John McCain and Lindsey Graham, frothing at their mouths for war with nuclear-armed Russia, how can anyone take Mueller seriously as a Trump investigator?
In Feb. 2003, Russian Foreign Minister Igor Ivanov wisely called on the United States to exercise patience with United Nations weapons inspectors in Iraq before launching an invasion. The U.S. did not and invaded nonetheless in April 2003.
“I oppose the war in Iraq, and I say so on the Senate floor all the time,” complained Vermont Senator Patrick Leahy to Mueller at a May 2nd, 2006 Judiciary Committee hearing referenced in the OIG report. “Maybe I should get my FBI report.”
“We were attempting to identify an [allegedly terrorism-connected] individual,” Mueller incorrectly stated to Leahy. “The agents were not concerned about the political dissent. They were attempting to identify an individual who happened to be, we believed, in attendance at that rally.”

According to the DOJ inspector general report, Mueller’s “FBI provided inaccurate information about the incident to the public and to Congress by claiming that the surveillance related to a particular person of interest in a terrorism investigation.”
Further, the DOJ inspector general, Glenn Fine, complained that, under now Trump investigator Mueller’s leadership, the FBI had “improperly retained” information about animal rights activists with PETA, environmentalists with Greenpeace USA, pacifists with the Catholic Worker Movement, and Quaker anti-war activist Glen Milner.

Jeff Sessions Senate Intel Committee Testimony Will Be Public

Attorney General Jeff Sessions’ testimony before the Senate Intelligence Committee will be made in an open hearing.
The announcement came last week that Sessions would follow up ex-FBI Director James Comey’s testimony before the same committee with his own appearance, but it was speculated that appearance would be in a closed session. The Intelligence Committee’s chairman, Sen. Richard Burr (R-NC), announced Monday that the attorney general’s testimony will be before the public as Comey’s was last Thursday.
The subject of the hearing, which will take place Tuesday at 2:30 p.m. Eastern Time in the Hart Senate Office Building, will be the ongoing probe into Russian involvement in the 2016 presidential campaign and the now-spiraling controversy about Comey’s firing from the FBI and subsequently leaks to the press of potentially privileged memos about his conversations with President Donald Trump.
Sessions, who recused himself from all involvement in the Department of Justice’s own Russia investigation, was thrust back into the fracas by Comey’s testimony. The fired FBI head strongly implied that the attorney general refused to protect him from or offer advice on how to deal with an overbearing President Trump. He also posited that he was not made aware of the scope and parameters of Sessions’ recusal. Sessions’ spokesman categorically denied these claims in a statement Friday, offering an email sent to Comey in March laying out the attorney general’s reasons for recusing himself and the extent to which he did so.
Among the more striking revelations of Comey’s testimony was his admission that he had himself used long-time friend and Columbia University law professor, Daniel Richman, to leak the now infamous “let this go” memo on an alleged conversation between himself and the president. Comey further admitted that he did so specifically to force the appointment of a special counsel, a purpose fulfilled when Deputy Attorney General Rod Rosenstein, who had been heading the investigation, appointed Comey’s predecessor and mentor Robert Mueller to that position last month.
Also likely on the docket will be Sessions’ own interactions with members of the Russian government. The attorney general’s political opponents have made much of his failure to disclose, during his confirmation hearings and on his security clearance application, certain meetings he had, primarily with Russian Ambassador Sergei Kislyak, during the 2016 campaign. Despite Sessions’ insistence that all these meetings were made in the scope of his official duties as a United States senator, voices from the left, such as Sen. Elizabeth Warren (D-MA) and House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi (D-CA), have gone so far as to demand Sessions resign over the matter.
Sessions will likely seek to dispel whatever taint Senate Democrats attempt to create over these meetings and clarify the exact chain of events that led to Comey’s dismissal, an action he publicly endorsed at the time. Sessions and Comey’s testimony in rapid succession before the Senate Intelligence Committee is not the first time the two men will lock political horns. As far back as October, Sessions was expressing his misgivings about Comey. The pair’s latest spar will play out before the American public Tuesday afternoon.
Puerto Rico Voters Overwhelmingly Say Yes to
Statehood

In a landslide vote Sunday, Puerto Rican voters approved a referendum that stated the Caribbean territory ought to request statehood.
The Wall Street Journal reported that 97 percent of voters who went to the polls said the island should become the nation’s 51st state. However, there was historically-low turnout for the vote; only 23 percent of registered voters cast a ballot amid a boycott from two out of three of Puerto Rico’s major political parties, which could hinder efforts for Washington to recognize Puerto Rico as a state.
“An overwhelming majority voted for statehood. Today we are sending a strong and clear message for equal rights as American citizens,” Puerto Rico Gov. Ricardo Rosselló said, according to NBC News. “This was a democratic process and statehood got a historic 97 percent of the vote.”
However, Héctor Ferrer of the Popular Democratic Party — which supported the boycott — said that “statehood-ers shot themselves in the foot.”
“Eight out of 10 voters went to the beach, went to the river, went to go eat, went to go hang out, went to church, but they sure didn’t go out to vote,” Ferrer said at a press conference in San Juan. “Gov. Rosselló is now going to go to Washington and say this (statehood) is what people wanted. But we’re going too to say no, that’s not true and the numbers speak for themselves.”
The next step would be for the governor to put into what’s known as the “Tennessee Plan,” which is one method by which territories can lobby to become states. The governor will select two senators and five congressmen to travel to Washington to persuade the government to recognize it as the 51st state.
According to Newsweek, six other states aside from Tennessee have used this method to attain statehood — Michigan, Iowa, California, Oregon, Kansas and Alaska. New Mexico failed in its attempt to exercise the Tennessee Plan in 1850, although it would later be granted statehood in 1912.
According to The Hill, President Donald Trump expressed a willingness to consider Puerto Rican statehood on the campaign trail. However, while the Republican Party has traditionally supported Puerto Rican statehood, conservatives may now be concerned that doing so would add two senators and seven electoral votes from a state that’s voted overwhelmingly liberal in recent years.
However, this doesn’t necessarily mean that Puerto Rico will stay that way. In a great irony, Alaska’s statehood back in 1959 was directly tied to Hawaii’s, since lawmakers believed Alaska would vote Democrat and Hawaii would be reliably Republican. That state of affairs hasn’t taken long to reverse itself.
A bigger problem might be the low voter turnout. Newsweek noted the official plank of the Democrats is that they would only recognize statehood if it were decided through “fair, open and democratic elections.” The low turnout for the referendum — particularly given previous plebiscites in 1993 and 2012 had far higher turnout — means the actual will of the people is somewhat unclear.
However, what happened Sunday could be the first step toward the first new star on the flag in over a half a century — and a major shakeup in the American political landscape.

The position became vacant when current Chairman Jason Chaffetz announced his sudden retirement.

“I AM GRATEFUL TO THE STEERING COMMITTEE AND THE CONFERENCE AS A WHOLE FOR THIS OPPORTUNITY TO SERVE,” GOWDY SAID IN A STATEMENT. “I LOOK FORWARD TO WORKING ALONGSIDE THE OTHER COMMITTEE MEMBERS, AS WELL AS ANY MEMBER OF CONGRESS, AS WE DISCHARGE THE JURISDICTION ASSIGNED TO US.”
Gowdy will replace outgoing Rep. Jason Chaffetz (R-Utah), who is resigning from Congress at the end of June.
Chaffetz praised the move in a statement.

“TREY GOWDY IS THE RIGHT PERSON FOR THE JOB,” CHAFFETZ SAID IN A STATEMENT. “HE HAS A LONG HISTORY OF DEMANDING ACCOUNTABILITY, UPHOLDING TRANSPARENCY, AND RELENTLESSLY PURSUING THE TRUTH. UNDER HIS CAPABLE LEADERSHIP, THE COMMITTEE WILL CONTINUE TO WORK TOWARDS ENSURING EFFECTIVENESS AND EFFICIENCY THROUGHOUT THE FEDERAL GOVERNMENT. AS HIS FRIEND AND COLLEAGUE, I HAVE EVERY CONFIDENCE IN HIS ABILITIES MOVING FORWARD.”
AS CHAIRMAN OF THE OVERSIGHT COMMITTEE, GOWDY WILL HAVE THE POWER TO DIG INTO THE DEEP STATE LEAKS THAT HAVE HAMSTRUNG THE TRUMP ADMINISTRATION.
POLITICO CHANNELED THE FEARS OF DEMOCRATS AND OTHERS IN THE PRESS BY WORRYING GOWDY WILL LOOK TO ENFORCE THE LAW AGAINST LEAKING CLASSIFIED INFORMATION:
“IT IS UNCLEAR IN WHAT DIRECTION GOWDY WILL TAKE HIS PANEL‘S PART OF THE TRUMP-COMEY INVESTIGATION, WHICH HAS QUICKLY BECOME ONE OF THE MOST CONTENTIOUS POLITICAL SCANDALS IN MODERN AMERICAN HISTORY. WHILE THE HOUSE AND SENATE INTELLIGENCE COMMITTEES HAVE JURISDICTION OVER RUSSIA’S MEDDLING IN THE U.S. ELECTION, QUESTIONS OF OBSTRUCTION AND HOW TRUMP MIGHT HAVE TRIED TO INFLUENCE THE PROBE FALL MORE INTO OVERSIGHT’S PURVIEW, AT LEAST IN THE HOUSE.

The press and the Deep State should worry about Gowdy.
During House Intelligence Committee hearings he has repeatedly pressed intelligence community officials about the illegal leaks that are flooding the press.
Gowdy also exposed Hillary Clinton’s private email server when he chaired the Benghazi Select Committee.

Understanding Trump: Newt Gets It
(Chuck Muth) - There’s an old saying in the marketing biz: “For those who get it, no explanation is necessary. For those who don’t, no explanation is possible.”
Yesterday I received a copy of my friend Newt Gingrich’s new book, “Understanding Trump.”
Newt gets it.
The forward was authored by Eric Trump, President Donald Trump’s son. He writes…
“Many books will be written by the very people who got it wrong (about my father winning) and, quite frankly, who continue to get it wrong, but this book will stand apart because Newt was one of the few who got it right – he is a friend and he was there from the beginning.”
But not just from the beginning of the Trump Insurrection. As Gingrich explains…
“Trump represents the third – and hopefully final – great effort to break away from a half-century of big government liberalism dating back to the administration of Lyndon B. Johnson. The first big push came in 1981 when President Ronald Reagan took office. The second was in 1994, when we signed the Contract with America.”
Gingrich was a rising conservative star in Congress in the early ‘80s and had a front-row seat for the Reagan Revolution as a key ally. And he was the commanding general in the Republican Revolution in 1994 when the GOP regained control of the House of Representatives after 40 years of wandering in the political desert.
And he was arguably the First Surrogate for Trump during the 2016 campaign, traveling all over the country advocating for an uprising against the Washington establishment and draining the swamp. Indeed, after Trump secured the GOP nomination, Gingrich was seriously considered as his vice presidential running mate.
Newt gets it.
He understands why many movement conservatives supported Trump even though they knew he was no Ronald Reagan. He understands why many libertarians supported Trump even though they knew he was no Barry Goldwater.
He understands why so many free-marketers supported Trump even though they knew he was no Milton Friedman. He understands why so many evangelicals supported Trump even though they knew he was no Billy Graham.
He understands why so many blue collar Democrats supported Trump even though they knew he was no Jimmy Hoffa. He understands why so many women supported Trump even though they knew he was no Ward Cleaver (ask your grandmom).
He understands why so many Hispanics supported Trump even though they knew he was no Cesar Chavez. He understands why so many blacks supported Trump even though they knew he was no Martin Luther King Jr.
And he understands why inside-the-beltway liberal Democrats and establishment Republicans (Never Trumpers) alike didn’t support Trump and never will…

If you already get it, “Understanding Trump” will be a welcome reminder that you were right and they were wrong. And that you’re on the right side of this chapter in American history.
If you don’t get it, but are willing to keep an open mind, “Understanding Trump” will help you…understand Trump.
But if you’re suffering from an acute case of Trump Derangement Syndrome, well, no explanation is possible. Get yourself to a safe space and curl up with a therapy puppy. We’ll call you if we need you.
