The Senate’s Russia Investigation Made One Bombshell Discovery

The Senate Judiciary Committee has been digging into allegations of Russian collusion.

They’ve even discovered a possible avenue of collaboration that’s been flying under the radar.

And they just made a bombshell announcement.

The Judiciary Committee has been the one investigative body looking into Fusion GPS, the firm that commissioned the fake news Trump-Russia Christopher Steele dossier.

Chairman Chuck Grassley is after two pieces of information: Was Fusion GPS paid by the Russian government when they commissioned the Steele dossier and was Steele on the FBI payroll when he put together the fake news dossier on Trump.

Grassley wants founder Glenn Simpson to testify in front of the committee – who had been dodging an appearance, but he recently agreed to testify.

Fusion GPS replied with the committee’s request and turned over thousands of records.

But there was just one problem.

They weren’t the documents the committee requested.

The Daily Caller reports:

“Fusion GPS, the opposition research firm behind the Trump dossier, turned over thousands of pages of documents to the Senate Judiciary Committee late Wednesday, The Daily Caller is told.

But the documents do not appear to be what the committee was hoping that Fusion GPS and its founder, Glenn Simpson, would provide.

“The committee is reviewing the production received late this afternoon from Mr. Simpson, but virtually all of the documents appear to be merely news clippings rather than records of Fusion’s substantive communications,” George Hartmann, a spokesman for the Senate Judiciary Committee, told TheDC.

The paltry document production escalates the standoff between Fusion GPS and the Judiciary Committee, which is chaired by Iowa Sen. Chuck Grassley.”

The stonewalling on behalf of Fusion GPS is preventing the committee from answering real questions about the Steel dossier.

Steele’s memo was used to kick start the allegations of collusion between the Trump campaign and Russia.

But was it disinformation paid for by the Russian government?

And did it trick the FBI and Congress into launching witch hunts against Trump?

Without Fusion GPS’ cooperation, it is impossible to know.

But there are known facts about Fusion’s relationship with the Russians and their odd connection to the meeting at Trump Tower between Donald Trump, Jr., senior Trump campaign staff, and a Russian lawyer who also lobbied in favor of repealing the Magnitsky Act.

The Daily Caller also reports:

“The committee also asked Fusion to produce contracts and communications regarding its work against the Magnitsky Act, a sanctions law opposed by the Russian government.

Natalia Veselnitskaya, the Russian lawyer who attended the Trump Tower meeting, was involved in the same lobbying campaign. Veselnitskaya represents Denis Katsyv, the chairman of Prevezon Holdings.

Fusion GPS was working for BakerHostetler, a law firm that was also representing Katsyv and Prevezon.

Veselnitskaya was accompanied to the Trump Tower meeting by Rinat Akhmetshin, a former Soviet military officer who works in the same line of business as Fusion GPS, providing political and business research for shadowy clients.”

If Grassley’s committee can get to the bottom of the origins of the fake news dossier, they could unravel the whole Russia meddling story and determine where this hoax originated.

It would also blow a hole in the theory that Moscow was working on behalf of Trump should they be found to have funded a dossier consisting of misinformation in order to smear Trump.

In their new book, Rogue Spooks: The Intelligence War On Donald Trump, Dick Morris and Eileen McGann detail the roles of Christopher Steele and Glenn Simpson in producing the phony dossier that was created to dig up dirt that the donors hoped would, destroy the Trump candidacy and undermine his presidency.

Steele, a former MI6 spook, was hired by Fusion GPS, an opposition research firm known for its smear campaigns.

Fusion GPS was paid for the dossier project by anonymous Hillary Clinton donors -- and Fusion refuses to say who they were.

While Steele and Simpson were peddling the dossier before it was made public, now they are refusing to talk about it.

Steele and Simpson are in hiding and don't want to give any information to Congress -- or anyone else!

Simpson stiffed the Judiciary Committee by producing newspaper articles instead of the contracts and communications demanded by the Committee.

Steele refused to meet with investigators from the House Investigations Committee, who visited his office in London. He's also fighting a court order for a deposition in Florida.

Since the dossier has been publicized in January, Steele was sued by one of a number of people who were falsely named in the document. That court case is progressing.

•  Steele's determination to get the fabricated dossier to FBI Director Comey AFTER the election.

•  Steele's cloak and dagger scheme to get the dossier to Senator John McCain to get it to Comey, including secret passwords and clandestine meetings.

•  Steele's admission that many of the key claims in the dossier were "unverified" and needed "further investigation."

John Bolton: U.S. Should Suggest to China the Reunification of the Korean Peninsula

Former U.N. Ambassador John Bolton proposed reunification as the solution to the North Korean nuclear missile crisis on Friday’sBreitbart News Daily with SiriusXM host Alex Marlow.

Bolton said President Trump has “made it clear that this is a different president than the one that North Korea and China have faced for the last eight years.”
“I don’t think people should underestimate the importance of making that distinction,” he advised. “We in America see great differences among our various presidents. A lot of foreigners don’t see the differences that we see. For many years, people have talked about all options being on the table, to the point where it’s just like a verbal tic. Nobody pays any attention to it. I think to get China’s attention in particular, tough talk has been warranted.”
“Now, I do think there’s a limit to it,” he added. “I think it’s very important as well that the president understands that as he makes these kinds of remarks, it gets harder and harder to back away from a very tough stance without risking grave damage to his credibility.”
“Nobody wants to see the military option employed, but the choice that Americans face is very stark,” Bolton warned. “This is a crisis we’re in, and the choice is: Are you prepared from now until infinity to see North Korea have the capability to hit targets in the United States with nuclear weapons? Because if we allow things to proceed as they are, that’s what is going to happen.”
“No amount of negotiation is going to talk North Korea out of it. We’ve tried that, mistakenly in my view, for 25 years. It’s failed. That’s why we’re in the position we are in now. Either we do something dramatically different diplomatically – my proposal is to convince China to reunite the Korean Peninsula – then you’re down to military action. Nobody wants it, but nobody wants to be in the position Trump finds himself in after 25 years of failure,” he said.
Bolton noted that North Korea is a “dependency of China,” which “supplies 90 percent of their oil, supplies enormous amounts of food and other humanitarian assistance – not because of the milk of human kindness, but because they want to keep the North Koreans in North Korea.”
“China could put enormous pressure on the regime,” he said. “One reason they haven’t over the years is that they fear that the pressure would bring the regime down. They’re very worried about the consequences of catastrophic collapse.”
This is why Bolton favors telling China, “Look, we don’t want a catastrophic collapse either, but we don’t want North Korea with nuclear weapons. Therefore, the answer is to merge the two Koreas, and, in effect, have a South Korean takeover. In exchange for that, we will commit that American troops will not be on the border with China. They’ll be at the end of the peninsula near Pusan, where they can be deployed around Asia more rapidly.”
“Now, China may not buy that deal. It’s a hard argument. But I do think it is in China’s interest. If they don’t buy the deal, our options suddenly become much more limited,” he said.
Marlow said the obvious lunacy of the North Korean regime makes it difficult to see them as anything less than a constant threat to the civilized world. Bolton agreed and lamented the inability of many Americans to appreciate that threat.
“The danger that we face inside the United States we can already see visibly,” he said. “Susan Rice, the former National Security adviser, yesterday in the New York Times said we should tolerate North Korea with nuclear weapons. Of course, under her administration, they argued we can talk North Korea out of these nuclear weapons, so they’ve been wrong on this for 25 years, going back to the Clinton administration.”
“As I say, if you’re prepared to live with a nuclear North Korea, then, of course, you’re not in favor of the use of force. If you don’t want to see our children held hostage as far as the eye can see, then you’re going to look at it differently,” said Bolton.
“What kind of regime is North Korea?” he asked. “You know, I’m not a shrink. I’m not going to say they’re psychotic. That’s not the issue. They’re an authoritarian government that has its own rationality. The problem is, it’s not rational in our terms.”
“The idea that Susan Rice and others are promulgating is the fallacy of mirror imaging. That is to say, we’re a pretty reasonable group of people in the United States. We want to solve this problem. We assume that the people on the other side of the table are equally reasonable and working for a solution. That’s not necessarily true of Kim Jong-un or the ayatollahs in Iran. That’s what the problem is,” he said.
Bolton denounced the mainstream media for “having the attention span of a fruit fly.”
“The fact is, we’ve had 25 years of failure across Democratic and Republican administrations alike. There were obvious variations among the policies of Clinton, Bush, and Obama, but conceptually, with respect to North Korea, they were all very similar, all based on the notion that by alternating the prospect of carrots and sticks, incentives and disincentives, you could affect North Korean behavior to the point they’d give up the nuclear program,” he recalled.
“Variations on that theme were tried for 25 years, and they have all failed. That’s why we’re in the desperate situation we are now. It’s why it is properly called a ‘crisis.’ If you don’t understand that history, then you can come into this new administration – still relatively new administration – and say, ‘Why don’t we negotiate with North Korea?’ like it’s some brilliant new idea. It’s not. It’s got a 25-year history of failure and no evidence that in Year 26 it’s going to succeed,” said Bolton.
He said media coverage of the crisis “reflects the inability of the press to see the bigger picture” and their inclination to “focus inevitably on the political horse race aspects of any issue in the United States, as opposed to the important substantive aspects.”
“I don’t expect any more of the press,” he admitted. “My hope – and I can’t say it’s any more than a hope – is that the rest of the world understands that. If they don’t, then it’s a problem that complicates Trump’s decision-making, but fundamentally, he can’t really waste his time with what the press are saying. He’s got to focus on this critical strategic question of North Korea with the capability to deliver weapons on target in the United States.”
John Bolton is a senior fellow at the American Enterprise Institute and head of his own political action committee, BoltonPAC.

Catholic law school close to Pope Francis to fight sanctuaries, Trump
by Paul Bedard

Pope Francis met migrants at the Moria refugee camp on the Greek island of Lesbos. (ed. note. Yes, Lesbos) The pope, in his annual message for the World Day of Migrants and Refugees on Thursday, Oct. 13, 2016, denounced the forced repatriation of unaccompanied children migrants who flee wars and poverty, saying countries should try to meet their needs rather than return them to uncertain futures back home.

Washington-based Georgetown University, a prominent Catholic institution with strong ties to Pope Francis, Wednesday said it would lead the legal battle against President Trump's bid to end illegal immigration, limit refugee entries, and starve "sanctuary cities" of federal dollars.

The university said that its law school was creating a special institute packed with high-power lawyers with a long track record of federal court victories to battle the administration on several high-profile issues, many focused on the poor.

The Institute for Constitutional Advocacy and Protection at Georgetown Law said in a statement that it will use its effort to "teach students to use the power of the courts to defend U.S. constitutional rights and values."

Among the targets listed:

Immigration restrictions.

Religious discrimination.

Free expression and privacy protection.

National security.

Whistleblower protection.

It already plans to fight Texas' war on sanctuaries, saying, "The Institute is also supporting key plaintiffs in another Texas case, City of El Cenizo v. Texas, which challenges a new state law that seeks to counter sanctuary city policies. The law, currently scheduled to take effect on September 1, purports to make it a crime for police and other public agencies to pursue an approach to enforcing federal immigration law contrary to that officially endorsed by the State of Texas, even if they believe it is in the best interest of public safety."

The effort follows the pope's criticism of Trump's immigration plans and his support for refugees and sanctuaries. The first Jesuit pope has visited with Georgetown staffers in Rome.

Pictures Show What Middle East Was Like Before Radical Islam

Decades prior to the Islamic revolution of 1979, Iran was ruled by Shah Mohammad Reza Pahlavi. Despite being a dictatorship, the shah regime adamantly pushed for Iran to adopt Western values, modernization, and cultural freedom.
The shah’s government worked towards advancing Iran’s economy globally and encouraged educational opportunities abroad for its citizens. In fact, Britain and the U.S. viewed Iran as a valuable ally in the Middle East at the time due to the country’s large supply of oil, proximity to India for trade, and its shared border with the Soviet Union during a time of heightened aggression.
Under the shah’s rule from 1941 to 1979, Iran nearly resembled cities in the U.S.
Photographs from the shah’s time show both women and men freely walking the streets in cities that were intact and peaceful. Like the U.S., people didn’t live in fear of suicide bombers or a terrorist attack during this time.
In other photographs, women can be seen openly interacting with men. While many scoff at the notion of Islam suppressing women’s rights, that is exactly what Islamic cultures have done since 1979. In Iran, prior to the revolution, we can see that women look happy, peaceful, and are able to enjoy the same freedoms as their male counterparts.

The men are dressed similarly to what we see in Western cultures rather than sporting massive beards and weapons.
Women were also allowed to have whatever hairstyles they preferred, wore different kinds of outfits, and jewelry. You’ll notice that prior to the revolution, women rarely wore a burqa and were allowed to show parts of their body in public and in front of males without any fear of reprisal.
Despite critics of the shah’s regime, he still allowed his people to live a seemingly open life in terms of exercising basic freedoms.
Both women and men associated in public freely, and educational opportunities were extended for all. Western clothing and norms were ingrained into the Iranian population and culture for decades.
The ouster of the shah and the rise of Ayatollah Ruhollah Khomeini as the Islamic Republic’s leader changed the Middle East forever.
The Khomeini regime funded and bolstered terrorist organizations looking to advance radical Islamic terrorism, and Iran did the same by funding Hezbollah in the early 1980s.
Islam today suppresses all women’s rights; calls for homosexuals to be hurled off rooftops to their death; has waged a never-ending war against Christians and non-believers of the Quran; and has given rise to a plethora of Islamic terrorist organizations — such as Al-Qaeda and the Islamic State group — that have destroyed cities in the Middle East and killed thousands of innocent civilians in the name of Allah.

The next time a leftist tries to argue that Islam is peaceful, show them these photographs of Iran before the revolution and then compare them to photographs of the Middle East today.

G’ day…Ciao…
