Trump Reverses This Obama Era Policy

by: Katie Pavlich

Trump Reverses This Obama Era Policy
Attorney General Jeff Sessions officially announced the reversal of an Obama administration policy that banned local law enforcement from purchasing or receiving used military equipment from the Pentagon.

"I am here to announce that President Trump is issuing an executive order that will make it easier to protect yourselves and your communities. He is rescinding restrictions from the prior administration that limited your agencies' ability to get equipment through federal programs, including life saving gear like Kevlar vests and helmets and first responder and rescue equipment like what they’re using in Texas right now," Sessions said.
"Some of these programs, like the Department of Defense's 1033 program that Congress signed into law more than 25 years ago, have recycled more than $5.4 billion in used gear and equipment that taxpayers had already purchased, and made it available for your agencies to re-purpose it in the fight against terrorism, crime, and disaster relief. Equipment like helicopters and armored vehicles are also vitally important to emergency and disaster response efforts," he continued.
The DOD 1033 program was put into place during the Clinton administration as a way to bolster local law enforcement agencies engaging in the war on drugs. Sessions has made it clear the Department of Justice is focused on combating the current opioid crisis with as many resources as possible and has vowed to untie the hands of law enforcement in their fight against rising violent crime.

Former Trump Adviser Sebastian Gorka Exposes Obama Leftovers As Leakers

Former White House deputy assistant Sebastian Gorka quit his job with the Trump Administration last Friday. And he’s wasting no time making waves outside the Oval Office.
Known for his bombastic television appearances, Gorka went on Fox News this morning and broke some huge news. The question on everyone’s mind in the White House is: Who is leaking information to the press?
Gorka has the answer. And while it’s not totally unexpected, you have to wonder when President Trump is finally going to shut these people up for good.
Breakthrough product sheds fat and builds muscle fast. See it for yourself!
EARHARDT: “Dr. Gorka, what’s going on with all the infighting and with the leaking? Do you know who is leaking?”

GORKA: “Again, I don’t like to give in to the palace intrigue stories. I think in many cases they’re tactical leaks against people you don’t like at the high level. The really damaging stuff, the 125 national security leaks in the first six months, as far as I’m concerned, those are coming from Obama holdovers.

We have a massive amount of holdovers who do not agree with this president and don’t understand that as a government civil servant you serve the president, not your own agenda. That’s what I think is the source.”
That’s an incredible revelation.

For the past few months, the Trump White House has been full of speculation over who was leaking to the press. The prime suspects were Administration officials themselves, including now former personnel like Steve Bannon and Reince Priebus.
But, according to Gorka, the leakers were in plain sight – they were holdovers from the Obama Administration.
Trump should have seen this coming, and he should fire every last one of them. They’ve earned their pink slip.

Sign The Petition To Applaud President Trump’s Pardon Of Sheriff Joe Arpaio!

Dear Friend,
CLICK HERE TO SIGN THE PETITION TO APPLAUD PRESIDENT TRUMP’S PARDON OF SHERIFF JOE ARPAIO!
Please take a minute to Sign This Petition supporting President Trump’s pardon of Sheriff Joe Arpaio. Sheriff Joe was convicted of contempt of court for “profiling” Mexican-looking people when searching for illegal immigrants in his Arizona territory. It is ridiculous to call that racial profiling. The New York Times today said that Arpaio was guilty of believing that Hispanics are more likely to commit crimes. When the crime is illegal immigration, of course, they are!
President Trump was right to pardon Arpaio. Please show your support.
WE, the Undersigned, believe that the hard work by Sheriff Joe of defending the United States must be rewarded and continue.
Please sign this petition and please get as many of your friends and family as possible to sign! Enter your zip code below to begin the signature process.

Anheuser-Busch Stops Beer Production To Bottle Water For Hurricane Harvey Victims

This Bud’s for you!!!

Hurricane Harvey has decimated much of the Texas Gulf Coast, killing at least 10 people and leaving Houston underwater. But Americans across the South have rallied in the face of disaster, and that includes one of the country’s biggest corporations.
Anheuser-Busch has stopped production at its Cartersville, Georgia, brewery in order to bottle and ship cans of drinking water to victims of the storm:
Home to well-known beer brands such as Budweiser, Bud Light, Michelob, and Busch, the Anheuser-Busch company has already sent more than 155,000 cans of drinking water to Red Cross shelters in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, and Arlington, Texas, where it will be distributed where needed most.
“Throughout the year, we periodically pause beer production at our Cartersville, Georgia, brewery to produce emergency canned drinking water so we are ready to help out communities across the country in times of crisis. Putting our production and logistics strengths to work by providing safe, clean drinking water is the best way we can help in these situations,” Sarah Schilling, brewmaster of Anheuser-Busch’s Cartersville brewery, said in a statement.
Anheuser-Busch’s preparedness and forethought has aided millions. In 2016, the brewery shipped over 2 million cans of emergency drinking water to communities hit by natural disasters, including the California wildfires, the Louisiana floods, and Hurricane Matthew. In fact, Bill Bradley, Anheuser-Busch’s VP of Community Affairs, recently said, “Since 1988 we have donated an excess of 76 million cans of clean drinking water.”
It will take years for Texas to recover from Hurricane Harvey. But as always, Americans have shown resilience in the face of disaster.

For the first time, West Point's top cadet is a black woman...hoorah…
Tom Vanden Brook, USA TODAY
WASHINGTON — For the first time in West Point's 215-year history, a black woman is leading the 4,400 cadets at the Army's prestigious military college.
Cadet Simone Askew assumed the post of First Captain, the highest position in the cadets chain of command, earlier this month. She describes the distinction as humbling and exciting. But her toughest challenge at West Point, she says, has been personal, not professional.
"I think my mom will tell you that I don’t call her enough," Askew said. "That’s definitely one of the toughest. It’s difficult when you have a duty to an organization that creates an environment where the work is never ending. In theory, I could work 24 hours a day, seven days a week and I’d still have emails to be read."
Askew, from Fairfax, Va., was in elementary school when she set her mind to leading troops. Attending the annual Army vs. Navy football game sparked her interest in attending West Point.
She joins an impressive roster of former First Captains: Gen. Douglas MacArthur, the top commander in the Far East during World War II and Korea; Gen. Vincent Brooks, who was the first African-American First Captain at the academy and now leads U.S. forces in South Korea; and Gen. John Nicholson, the top commander in Afghanistan charged with overseeing President Trump’s new strategy there.
Askew competes on the crew team, studies international history and aspires to a career as a military intelligence officer.
“My thesis this year will be regarding genocide prevention,” Askew said.
Lt. Gen. Gwendolyn Bingham, the second African-American woman to achieve that rank in the Army, said Askew's positive attitude and tenacity will serve her well as she advances. Bingham, who joined the Army in 1981 after earning her degree in management from the University of Alabama, said she'd been told as a young captain not expect to advance much further because of her race.
Battalion command, the province of lieutenant colonels, was out of her reach. Now, battalion command and several other commands in logistics dot Bingham's résumé.
“Never tell somebody what they can and cannot do, and what they can and cannot become,” she said.
Askew demurred when asked whether she aspired to Bingham’s rank. For now, she said, she plans to be a great second lieutenant after graduation in 2018.

“I’m grinning from ear to ear,” Bingham said. “I love her professionalism. I love her positivity. I’ve often found that a positive attitude will take us one half the distance.”

Trump To Reverse Obama’s 2015 Executive Order Banning Transfer Of Military Equipment To Police

This says a lot about Trump's priorities.
By Andrew Kerr

The Trump administration will act Monday to reverse former President Barack Obama’s 2015 executive order that banned the transfer of some surplus military equipment to police departments, according to USA TODAY.
Obama issued the executive order prohibiting the transfer of armored vehicles and high-caliber weapons and ammunition to local police departments in reaction to the adversarial relationship between police forces and the community after the police shootings of Mike Brown and Eric Garner.
“We’ve seen how militarized gear can sometimes give people a feeling like there’s an occupying force as opposed to a force that’s part of the community that’s protecting them and serving them,” Obama said in 2015 when he issued the order. “It can alienate and intimidate local residents and send the wrong message.”
Obama’s order did allow law enforcement to use other military surpluses such as aircraft, wheeled tactical vehicles, battering rams and riot gear, but only if the federal government approved the use of such equipment.
The military surplus sharing agreement, also known as the “1033 program,” was created in 1990 as part of the National Defense Authorization Act. It was originally intended to assist state and local law enforcement in “counter-drug activities.”
Since then, more than $5.4 billion worth of surplus military gear has been transferred to state and local law enforcement.
President Donald Trump will sign an executive order Monday reversing Obama’s 2015 directive.
Attorney General Jeff Sessions confirmed the move Monday at the annual conference of the Fraternal Order of Police in Nashville, Tennessee, that Trump’s order will ensure that police forces will have access to the “life-saving gear” needed to prevent “criminal activity, violence and lawlessness” from becoming the new norm.
“(W)e are fighting a multifront battle: an increase in violent crime, a rise in vicious gangs, an opioid epidemic, threats from terrorism, combined with a culture in which family and discipline seem to be eroding further and a disturbing disrespect for the rule of law,” Sessions said.
“The executive order the president will sign today will ensure that you can get the lifesaving gear that you need to do your job and send a strong message that we will not allow criminal activity, violence and lawlessness to become a new normal,” he added.
An administration summary of the new policy obtained by USA TODAY said the Department of Defense could repurpose retired military assets that would otherwise be scrapped to state, local and tribal law enforcement.
“Assets that would otherwise be scrapped can be repurposed to help state, local and tribal law enforcement better protect public safety and reduce crime,” according to the program summary.
Civil rights activists condemned the Trump administration’s decision to remilitarize law enforcement.
“It is both exceptionally dangerous and irresponsible for the administration to lift the ban on the transfer of certain surplus military equipment to state and local law enforcement organizations,” NAACP Legal Defense Fund associate director Janai Nelson told USA TODAY.
“Just a few summers ago, our nation watched as Ferguson raised the specter of increased police militarization. The law enforcement response there and in too many places across the country demonstrated how perilous, especially for black and brown communities, a militarized police force can be,” Nelson said.
Nelson said Trump’s decision, which comes weeks after the violence in Charlottesville, Virginia, “reflects this administration’s now open effort to escalate racial tensions in our country.”
According to USA TODAY, the proposal said the military equipment provided through the program is “entirely defensive in nature.”
“Much of the equipment provided through the 1033 program is entirely defensive in nature … that protect officers in active shooter scenarios and other dangerous situations,” the proposal reads.

Watch: Black Woman Picks Up Confederate Flag, Goes Viral With 7 Blunt Words to Libs

Since at least the 2015 massacre at a black church in South Carolina, an intense debate has been raging within the United States over the place of the Confederate flag, and various Confederate monuments, and whether these objects are symbols of racism or heritage.
For Karen Cooper, an African-American, the Confederate flag represents freedom from the government. In fact, in an interview for the documentary “Battle Flag” back in 2016, Cooper had just seven words to describe her feelings about those who live in the South and fly the flag: “I felt more welcomed in the South.”
Cooper, a former member of the Nation of Islam from New York state, told the interviewer that in the North, “they claim they like black people,” but that everything is more segregated. When she moved to the South, Cooper said, she found everyone much friendlier.
“I came down here, and we were more together,” she stated. “People waved to me that I’d never known!”
So much for the liberal narrative that everyone in the South is a wild racist and that only old white men fly the Confederate flag.
Check out a portion of the interview here:
Cooper was interviewed by the documentary makers as a member of the Virginia Flaggers, which describes itself as “citizens of the Commonwealth who stand AGAINST those who would desecrate our Confederate Monuments and memorials, and FOR our Confederate Veterans.”
She found the flag group through her activism in tea party groups, according to the New York Daily News.
Cooper also explained that she supported flying the Confederate flag because to her it represented resistance to a bloated federal government, and a history that should not be forgotten.
“I feel I’m a slave now because the federal government does control me. I can’t smoke what I want to smoke. I can’t drink what I want to drink. If I want to put something into my body, it’s my body, not theirs,” she explained. “That’s tyranny!”
Cooper had a point about the flag. It represents a time in history that should not simply be forgotten because it makes people uncomfortable.
Yes, some people who wave the flag are racists who should be condemned, but to many, the Confederate flag is a piece of history that they stand behind — and not something that they see as a symbol of hate.
Of course liberals will never understand that: Once they have declared that something is racist, there can be no exceptions and anyone who disagrees with them is naturally a wild racist.
“I know what people think about when they see the battle flag: the KKK, racism, bringing slavery back. So I knew it would be something for people to see a black woman with the battle flag. How can it be racist if I’m out there with them?” Cooper stated.
I’m not sure liberals have an answer to that particular question yet, but I’m sure they are working on one.

Dear NFL: If Players Take a Knee, We Take a Hike

a
Sarah McKinney, widow of SPC Rafael A. Nieves, Jr. who was
killed in action in Afghanistan, leaving behind two young children

(Chuck Muth) - A Category 5 storm of stupidity – Hurricane Kaepernick – is sweeping across the NFL.
Last year San Francisco 49er quarterback Colin Kaepernick decided to protest what he falsely claims to be rampant racism in America by refusing to stand during the National Anthem. His insulting act of disrespect then spread to a handful of other highly-paid ingrates.  Which resulted in a rather significant boycott of the NFL by fans in the stands.
After the season, Kaepernick walked away from his multi-million dollar contract with the 49ers and - get this - no team has hired him for the 2017 season.  Go figure.
In the meantime, other players have stupidly continued Kaepernick’s “take a knee” sideline shenanigans during the pre-season, including 49er strong safety Eric Reid.  And when asked recently what he hopes to accomplish by spitting in the eyes of NFL fans, Reid replied…
“Change.  The goal is to just create some change.”
Well, mission accomplished, bozo.  Because every time an NFL game pops up on my TV screen now I change the channel!
“I feel like I needed to regain control of the narrative and not let people say that what we're doing is un-American, because it's not,” Reid continued.  “It's completely American.”
To be fair, that’s true.  Protesting in our country is as American as baseball, hot dogs, apple pie and Donald Trump.  But the problem isn’t that his silly protest is UN-American; it’s that it’s ANTI-American.
And the disrespect shown is absolutely a slap in the face to America’s law enforcement officers and members of the military – most of whom get paid a comparative pauper’s wage to risk their very lives and limbs defending our nation and fellow citizens.
To put this insulting temper-tantrum by these spoiled, pampered “athletes” into perspective, go to Google, click on “Images” and enter “flag draped coffin” in the search box.  Or consider the fact that 64 law enforcement officers were shot and killed in the line of duty last year, including five who were ambushed and gunned down by a sniper in Dallas.
THAT’S what the outraged backlash by Americans coast-to-coast is all about.
Making matters worse for the NFL is that coaches and team owners are standing by and letting these jerks get away with it.  49er coach Kyle Shanahan, when asked about Reid’s new protest, said flatly, “I’ve got no issue with it.”  And there’s been no public “You WILL stand” edict issued by any of the team owners that I know of.
By the way, for the constitutionally ignorant among us, there is no First Amendment right to speak without consequences from your private employer.  The First Amendment only protects you from GOVERNMENT reprisal.
If coaches, owners and the NFL refuse to put an end to this insulting clown act, the fans will.  There will be an even bigger boycott this season, which will cost the NFL billions in lost revenue.  You take a knee; we take a hike.
To paraphrase the immortal words of “South Park’s” Eric Cartman, “Screw you guys, I’m staying home.”
