I attended this year's symposium held in Chicago. As a mere participant, I wanted to reduce the airfare budget, I used Cathay Pacific connecting flight ( I needed to travel from Tokyo to Hong kong, and from Hong Kong to Chicago and that took me 24h) and repeated the same distance/hours on my way back as well. On top of the tiring lengthy economy-class travel hours, with my indecisive choices of sketch tool selection ( I brought six different types of sketchbooks and carried them everyday and the weight killed me), jet jug, insomnia, everyday was like a training. But I enjoyed that training so much, and I made the most of it.I kept drawing whenever I have chance as much as I could during this period. It was such a fantastic event held in so ideal location. I thank a lot everyone who helped and worked hard to make this event happen. I enjoyed so much the occasion to learn from the people I admire, beauty of town, the mature and sophisticated ambience, friendliness of local people as well as participants from around the world who shared their times. The weather has been so good that everyday was so ideal for sketching.
