Sketches in museum

stucco image, statuette of Buddha, 2-3 C
In hot summer or cold winter I go to museum. Last week I went to National Museum of Korea located at Yongsan. I began to see from the 3rd story where Indian, Chinese, Asian art works were exhibited. As usual it's dark inside and hard to read the explanatory notes. I used to take photos without flash for reading. I kept a small size papers. Using a waterbrush and a tiny cake palette I washed a few colors to capture the mood. And finished them in the corridor out of the exhibit rooms. Because the guards in rooms forbid using water in rooms, so I bring dry materials usually. Appreciating the treasures exhibited permanently or changed regularly is a great pleasure to me. Sketching them I realize that I see more with love and respect.
