London's skyline from Ward 10
[By James Hobbs in London.] I found myself on the 10th floor of the Royal Free Hospital, Hampstead, last week visiting a patient in a room with a jaw-dropping view across the city skyline. Never mind a stethoscope, a pair of binoculars would have been useful. Looking into the hazy sunshine we picked out some highlights: St Paul's, the Shard, Francis Crick Institute, St Pancras railway station, London Eye, BT Tower, Regent's Park...The view stretched much further to the west than I have drawn here, even to Trellick Tower and Grenfell Tower, the sight of which, even in the distance, quietened our conversation. It is still too impossible to draw it.
