Tribute to multilingualism
[By Luis Ruiz in Málaga, Spain]
Cruz de Humilladero has become an interesting melting pot in the last decade. It has always been a popular district in the outskirts of Málaga, but lately it is possible to hear conversations on its streets in different accents from all over the globe. The lettering on this hairdressing saloon is a real manifesto in this sense: the type of store is written in Spanish although it bears an English name, which is in turn translated into Chinese. Moreover, in the same block you can find other stores announced in Arabic characters, and some others in Cyrilic. Definitely worth a visit!
