Trump: Russia Uranium One Story ‘One of the Biggest Stories of the Decade’

by CHARLIE SPIERING
Donald Trump highlighted new developments in the story of Russian interests acquiring Uranium One, saying it was “one of the biggest stories of the decade.”
Donald Trump highlighted new developments in the story of Russian interests acquiring Uranium One, saying it was “one of the biggest stories of the decade.”
“I think that’s your real Russia story,” Trump replied when asked by Fox News reporter Roberts about the new revelations.
Trump repeated that the current investigation of his campaign colluding with Russia was a “hoax” and that they should focus on Obama administration and Hillary Clinton’s ties to the crooked uranium deal.
“The problem is that the mainstream media does not want to cover that story because that affects people that they protect,” Trump said.
He said that it was a “disgrace” that Russia got 20 percent of America’s uranium and that the media would not investigate.
“Frankly, it’s a disgrace, and it’s a disgrace that the fake news won’t cover it,” he said.
Trump highlighted the story on Twitter on Thursday morning:
Uranium deal to Russia, with Clinton help and Obama Administration knowledge, is the biggest story that Fake Media doesn't want to follow!
George W. Bush Emerges to Bash Trump, ‘Nativism’: ‘We Cannot Wish Globalism Away’ (In eight years never a word about Obama)
Former President George W. Bush delivered a public repudiation of President Donald Trump’s political identity, suggesting many aspects of the current administration are fueling division in the United States and around the world.
The former president defended the ideas of globalism, free trade, and free markets as well as foreign interventionism around the world in a speech at the George W. Bush Institute.
“We cannot wish globalism away,” Bush said, noting that the United States must sustain “wise and sustained global engagement” for the future of the country.
Bush indirectly accused Trump of fueling dangerous ideologies that threatened the unity of the United States and global stability, spending a large portion of his speech complaining about social ills in the country.
“We’ve seen a return of isolationist sentiments forgetting that American security is directly threatened by the chaos and despair of distant places,” he warned.
Bush urged Americans to “recover our own identity,” citing a commitment to global engagement, free and international trade, and immigration.
“We’ve seen nationalism distorted into nativism, and forgotten the dynamism that immigration has always brought to America,” he lamented.
“Bigotry seems emboldened, our politics seems more vulnerable to conspiracy theories and outright fabrication,” he said. “There are some signs that support for democracy itself has waned especially for the young.”
But Bush’s criticism wasn’t merely on Trump’s “America First” political ideology. He also criticized the tone of the American political system led by Trump.
“We’ve seen our discourse degraded by casual cruelty,” he lamented, noting that “argument turns too easily into animosity” and “disagreement escalates into dehumanization.”
He criticized the rise of “bullying and prejudice” in national politics, suggesting that the country lacked positive role models.
The former president looped in a condemnation of white supremacy as part of his speech, suggesting that it was a growing threat in Trump’s America.
“Bigotry or white supremacy in any form is blasphemy against the American creed,” he said.
He called for a restoration of American norms in society.
“Our identity as a nation, unlike many other nations, is not determined by geography or ethnicity, by soil or blood,” he said. “Being American involves the embrace of high ideals and civic responsibility.”
Bush’s decision to publicly criticize Trump’s presidency is unusual after he made a point of rarely challenging President Barack Obama while he was in office.
A day earlier, Senate Judiciary Committee Chairman Chuck Grassley, R-Iowa, vowed at a public hearing to “get to the bottom of this issue.” This was as The Hill reported that the FBI had evidence as early as 2009 that Russian operatives used bribes, kickbacks and other dirty tactics to expand Moscow’s atomic energy footprint in the U.S. -- yet the Obama administration approved the uranium deal benefiting Moscow anyway.
Trump on Thursday also took another Twitter swipe at the firm behind the controversial anti-Trump dossier, after Fusion GPS officials took the Fifth during an appearance on Capitol Hill on Wednesday.
Trump Slams Media For Ignoring Hillary Scandal

President Trump on Thursday accused the “Fake Media” of ignoring new details about the 2010 approval of a controversial uranium deal with a Russian company, amid scrutiny of potential “conflicts of interest” for Hillary Clinton and the Obama administration.
“Uranium deal to Russia, with Clinton help and Obama administration knowledge, is the biggest story that Fake Media doesn't want to follow!” Trump tweeted.

They Must Stand For Anthem, Look What Happens To Jerry Jones
"...a public commitment by an NFL owner to violate his players' Constitutional right to free speech."
By Martin Walsh
By Martin Walsh
The NAACP issued a statement Tuesday criticizing Dallas Cowboys owner and team president Jerry Jones after he announced that his team will not play if they don’t stand for the national anthem.
Tony Covington, a former NFL player who now serves as the NAACP’s senior director of corporate affairs, said Jones’ comments were misguided and violated players constitutional rights.
“Jerry Jones’ comments are more than tone-deaf, more than misinformed and misguided — they are a public commitment by an NFL owner to violate his players’ Constitutional right to free speech,” Covington said, according to the Washington Examiner.
NAACP interim president and CEO c Johnson added in the statement that protesting isn’t about the flag, but rather about social injustices minorities experience in America.
“This is not an issue about our flag, this is an issue about police brutality, racism, and the ability of members of the NFL whose communities are disproportionately impacted by police misconduct to peacefully say enough,” Johnson said.
The entire Cowboys team, including owner Jerry Jones and his family, decided to take a knee before the national anthem during their Sept. 25 game against the Arizona Cardinals.
Then, they walked back to the sideline and stood with their arms locked together while the anthem was sung.
Jones announced his new policy on Sunday after he was asked about Vice President Mike Pence and second lady Karen Pence leaving the Indianapolis Colts game after several San Francisco 49ers players knelt during the anthem.
“I know this, we cannot … in the NFL in any way give the implication that we tolerate disrespecting the flag,” Jones said after a loss to the Green Bay Packers, Fox News reported.
“We know that there is a serious debate in this country about those issues, but there is no question in my mind that the National Football League and the Dallas Cowboys are going to stand up for the flag. So we’re clear,” he added.
Jones made it clear that he would bench any of his players if they carried out actions appearing to disrespect the national anthem and flag.
“There is no room here if it comes between looking non-supportive of our players and of each other or creating the impression that you’re disrespecting the flag, we will be non-supportive of each other,” Jones said.
He continued, “If there’s anything that is disrespectful to the flag, then we will not play. OK? Understand? If we are disrespecting the flag, then we won’t play. Period.”
Schweizer: Hillary Claim of Lack of Awareness on Uranium One Deal ‘Stretches Credulity,’ Investigation Warranted
by JEFF POOR
Wednesday on Fox News Channel’s “Tucker Carlson Tonight,” Breitbart News senior editor-at-large Peter Schweizer, author of “Clinton Cash: The Untold Story of How and Why Foreign Governments and Businesses Helped Make Bill and Hillary Rich,” discussed the Clintons’ involvement with the Uranium One deal.
That deal allocated Russia 20 percent of the United States’ strategic uranium reserves.
Hillary Clinton, who was secretary of state at the time of the U.S. government’s approval of the deal, has denied involvement in that approval process. That claim according to Schweizer “stretches credulity” and warrants an investigation.
CARLSON: Peter Schweizer originally broke this story in a book called “Clinton Cash,” he’s been covering it ever since and he joins us now. Peter, thanks for coming on.
SCHWEIZER: Tucker, thanks for having me.
CARLSON: So, this is a kind of confusing cover to the story. The person who apparently has first-hand evidence that the Russian government tried to get the Clintons to support the deal has been prevented from speaking even to Congress, how can that be and what’s the justification for that?
SCHWEIZER: Well, that’s a great question, Tucker. What we know, apparently based on the reporting is that he has been put under a gag order by the Department of Justice and has been told that if he speaks about this publicly, not only will he face financial penalties in the form of a fine, that he could actually go to jail, that his liberty would be at risk, which is mystifying to me. I mean, why do we not want to know the details about this? That’s what’s so troubling, is it reeks of cover-up. It just stinks. There’s no other word for it.
CARLSON: As a legal matter, how can the Justice Department from a previous administration told the Congress of the United States, elected officials that they can’t talk to an American citizen about allegations of bribery that put our national security at risk? How does that work?
SCHWEIZER: Well, it really shouldn’t work and can’t work and what I mean is the Department of Justice today under President Trump, Attorney General Sessions, could tomorrow come back and say we are removing this gag order, that we believe that there’s a compelling national interest to know. We want this individual to testify before Congress. We want the public to know exactly what went on.
So, this is not something that’s unbreakable, but it just simply takes a request from the Department of Justice to remove that gag order. If that gag order is not removed, I think it’s doubtful this businessman will want to go public, because he doesn’t want to be put in legal jeopardy.
CARLSON: So, back to the core question, the approval of this deal, Uranium One purchased by a Russian company giving the Russians in effect control of 20 percent of our uranium supply. The office of then Secretary of State Hillary Clinton said basically she had nothing to do with the approval.
SCHWEIZER: Right.
CARLSON: Is that true? How could that be true?
SCHWEIZER: It’s not true and it’s interesting with the Podesta emails that came out, the leaked emails, what you find is how they tried to cover this up. One of the assistant secretaries, a gentleman named Fernandez came forward and said, oh, I was the one that really made the decision. She was not involved in that decision. But if you look in the Podesta emails, you see exactly how it went down.
Fernandez is communicating with John Podesta and is saying let me know what I can say, how I can be helpful. So, she was intimately involved in this decision and this is the important thing to keep in mind, Tucker, Hillary Clinton in 2008 when she ran for president went into detail — she actually had a plan on toughening CFIUS, this body that would prove these kinds of controversial deals.
So, she is very knowledgeable on this subject and she’s a hawk on this issue. So, for her to pretend like, I don’t really know what was going, I was not involved, just stretches credulity and that’s one of the reasons we need to have an investigation and really to this point, Tucker, we have not had a Congressional hearing on this. We have not had a grand jury as far as we know. It’s just shocking to me that there has been no investigation on this whatsoever.
CARLSON: And just to be clear, the dots that we are connecting are not very far apart. So, the chairman of this Uranium Company, Uranium One is also on the board of the Clinton Foundation and close friend of the Clintons.
SCHWEIZER: Yes. That’s right.
CARLSON: John Podesta’s company, the Podesta group lobbied on behalf of this company. Uranium One. Am I getting these facts wrong?
SCHWEIZER: You are exactly right, Tucker. Here’s the bottom-line. As this deal was coming for approval in 2010, the Clinton Foundation received from nine shareholders in this uranium company that was sold to the Russians. None of them all of a sudden decided they were going to donate large amounts of money to the Clinton Foundation, more than $145 million. And by the way, a lot of those donations were never declared publicly by the Clintons, they were hidden.
CARLSON: Right.
SCHWEIZER: So, it stinks on so many levels. Here’s the other important national security implications, Tucker. This deal was predicated on the fact that when the Russians got control of this uranium, it would not be exported out of the United States, that was part of the agreement.
CARLSON: Right.
SCHWEIZER: The New York Times has now reported that that’s not true. Yellowcake from these uranium mines are being exported out of the United States and we don’t even really know where they are going.
CARLSON: That is right.
SCHWEIZER: That and of itself demands investigation.
CARLSON: Yes. About 20 percent of it, they’ve reported has gone to some unknown destination which is ominous. Peter Schweitzer again, the person who broke this story in the beginning and it has been on it ever since. Thank you.
SCHWEIZER: Thanks, Tucker.

Gianno Caldwell: ‘Hillary Rodham Clinton Is Responsible For Advocating Modern-Day Slavery’
On the subject of race, Hillary Clinton wants it both ways, Fox News political analyst Gianno Caldwell said Tuesday.
Caldwell noted that Clinton, during a London stop on her book tour, spoke out in support of NFL players and their national anthem protests. The players have said that they are protesting against the racial divide in America.
“Hillary Rodham Clinton is responsible for advocating modern-day slavery, and I’ll tell you why,” Caldwell said, explaining that Clinton supported the 1994 crime bill when it was passed during the administration of her husband, former President Bill Clinton.
“The ‘94 Crime Bill, which many have mentioned that led to the over-criminalization of African-Americans, we’re talking about mass incarceration, 2.3 million people in the criminal justice system, 1 million of them are black. The ’94 crime bill led to the three strike rule,” Caldwell added.
“It also took money, funding for training and education out of the prison system which led to a recidivism rate of 75 percent after five years,” he said.
Caldwell added that there is a connection between the racial divide Clinton helped create 1994, and the protests against that divide that she now also supports.
“So when we think about the issues in which these players and others are protesting oppression, systematic racism which does exist in America, we can thank the Clinton’s for their role in that. And I think a lot of people have mentioned that especially during this last election cycle,” he said
.During the 2016 presidential campaign, Michelle Alexander wrote in The Nation that Clinton was not just a bystander when the crime bill passed.
“Some might argue that it’s unfair to judge Hillary Clinton for the policies her husband championed years ago. But Hillary wasn’t picking out china while she was first lady. She bravely broke the mold and redefined that job in ways no woman ever had before. She not only campaigned for Bill; she also wielded power and significant influence once he was elected, lobbying for legislation and other measure,” Alexander wrote.
She also quoted a statement made by Clinton in 1994.
“They are not just gangs of kids anymore,” Clinton said at the time. “They are often the kinds of kids that are called ‘super-predators.’ No conscience, no empathy.
“We can talk about why they ended up that way, but first we have to bring them to heel.”
Liberals Try To Connect With Normal Americans And It Goes Poorly
Kurt Schlichter
***Editor's note: This column is satire***
Key Democrats met secretly to confer about the party’s future as America approached the one-year anniversary of their stunning and hilarious humiliation by Donald Trump. The key question they sought to answer: “How can we Democrats appeal to those Jesus-loving, racist idiots who hate science and don’t live on the coast like everyone we know?”
Senate Democrats toast healthcare victory
After opening the seminar by refusing to say the Pledge of Allegiance, Chuck Schumer gaveled the meeting to order, sparking widespread protests. “Hammers are violent tools of oppression that cause oppressed people to literally shake. We need a national conversation about assault gavels that use automatic high-capacity clips,” sputtered the 112 year-old Senator Dianne Feinstein. “Sure, we should be able to have them, but not those, those … little people out there. They don’t need gavels.”
The assembly quickly agreed that in 2018 Democrats must prioritize sensible hammer control, including gavel background checks and ending the tool show loophole, and to enlist Lawrence O’Donnell in their campaign to stop the hammering.
This vital issue settled, Schumer continued: “Remember, we’re here to freely exchange ideas in an atmosphere of openness and unlimited inquiry. With that in mind, your program has a list of the things you can’t say, like ‘illegal alien’ and ‘Christmas.’ It also has a handy cheat sheet of everyone’s preferred pronouns. Mine are ‘he’ and ‘him,’ while Senator Menendez’s are ‘convict’ and ‘Number 675973.’ Also, be sure to observe the rule about not mansplaining, which should not be a problem with this group.”
He then turned it over to 105 year-old Nancy Pelosi, who asked, “Where am I?”
After Schumer whispered in her ear, she began: “With the economy booming, the stock market setting records, and America defeating ISIS, things have never been worse. That’s why we need to keep The Resistance going, because it’s been a huge success so far in my district in San Francisco and, I’m sure, in your districts in Manhattan, Chicago, and Havana. And we need to expand our party, which means we need to convince dirty, stupid, transphobic normal Americans to come to grips with their own failings and join us.”
“We could tell them they’re stupid even more often,” suggested Al Franken.
“And racist,” suggested Maxine Waters.
“Also, Islamophobic,” said Keith Ellison.
“In my state, I can go potty with girls!” said California’s Gavin Newsom.
“Clearly, there’s something wrong with these people, so we need to consult with someone with a genuine connection with normal Americans,” Pelosi said. “Sadly, Hillary Clinton isn’t here to help us. If anyone connects with Middle America, it’s her. Unfortunately, she’s fallen and she can’t get up.” Pelosi made the “drinky drinky” gesture, and the crowd nodded.
“But we have someone almost as good, someone who knows how Americans feel, especially the women. Harvey, are you here?"
“Look, I know about how to reach regular Americans through the power of film, even though I may be having some problems caused by the vast right wing conspiracy, the NRA, and chicks who think they’re too good to play ball anymore," Weinstein said.
"I say we do a movie that really address some of the issues normal Americans care about, like global warming, or how much it costs to hire a team of top notch defense lawyers. Maybe we get Matt or Ben to star, and Woody or Roman to direct. And hire some actresses who know how the game is played,” he added, winking.
Schumer moved up and took the mic. “Thanks Harvey. We’re looking forward to having you back on top, so to speak, and writing checks. Okay, let’s hear from our next guest, a true hero whose courage and strength has been an inspiration to everyone, Mr. Colin Kaepernick.”
“Look, I’ll stand, I’ll totally stand. Just hire me, okay? Principles, schmiciples, I need money. I got a lifestyle to support. My girlfriend talked me into this kneeling thing and she just went out and bought a herd of yaks. Why did she buy yaks? You know how much a herd of yaks costs?” he said, eyes wide. Then he stepped down off the dais and ran over to Claire McCaskill’s table and began stuffing rolls into his pockets for later.
“Well, we have some other very special guests tonight who have done so much for us,” said Schumer. “These Republican friends have been a huge help. I especially want to thank John McCain for all he’s done on behalf of preserving Obamacare, and also for not taking things personally and joining up with those of us who spit on him after he returned from Vietnam while turning against the normal Americans who supported him. John, you’re a maverick we can always rely on!”
“And there’s Ana Navarro, our favorite conservative Republican since she opposes everything conservative and Republican."
“Now look,” Schumer said, frustrated. “We have to defend 22 Senate seats next year, many in red states. How the hell are we going to do that?”
“Move left,” said Bernie Sanders.
“Move left,” said Kamala Harris.
“Which one is left?” said Gavin Newsom, staring baffled at his raised hands.
“I know!” came a shrill, grating voice from the back of the room. Hillary Clinton entered with a bandage around her head and limping from the broken toe she got when she “slipped” while wearing her trademark high heels. She took the mic and the room fell still.
“We can start treating normal Americans with respect. We can honor them for their hard work, patriotism, and devotion to family. We can stop insulting their religious beliefs and trying to shove our urban blue state values down their throats. When criminals murder fellow citizens, we can choose not to blame law-abiding gun owners, and instead of calling them ‘racists’ for voting for Trump, talk to them and learn why they felt he was offering them more than the Democratic Party.”
The room was silent, and the crowd sat staring with jaws slack.
“And…and…,” she said, then steadied herself on the podium, looking around confused.
“Are you alright, Madame Should-Be-President?” asked Schumer, handing her a goblet of Chardonnay. She drank it in one gulp.
“I don’t understand…what happened?” she asked.
“You were just mumbling random words, crazy talk,” Schumer said. “It didn’t make any sense at all.”

Trump Drops the Hammer On Comey, This Is What We’ve Been Waiting For
Adam Selene
The credibility of the FBI is in doubt after two major allegations of misconduct arose in the same week.
President Trump took to Twitter early this morning and, in a series of tweets, accused fired FBI Director James Comey of fixing the investigation into failed presidential candidate Hillary Clinton.
“Wow, FBI confirms report that James Comey drafted letter exonerating Crooked Hillary Clinton long before investigation was complete. Many..” the President tweeted, continuing, “…people not interviewed, including Clinton herself. Comey stated under oath that he didn’t do this-obviously a fix? Where is Justice Dept?”
Former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton was under FBI investigation throughout the 2016 presidential election for relying on a private email server for official government business while heading the State Department.
In July 2016, then-FBI Director Comey testified before Congress that Clinton’s use of a private server was “extremely careless,” but he contended it would be almost impossible to secure a conviction, and he announced the close of the investigation.
“As it has turned out, James Comey lied and leaked and totally protected Hillary Clinton. He was the best thing that ever happened to her!” President Trump said in a follow-up tweet.
On Monday, the FBI released a document titled, “Drafts of Director Comey’s July 5, 2016 Statement Regarding Email Server Investigation Part 01 of 01.” The document reveals former FBI Director Comey discussing his July 5 statement, where he planned to exonerate Hillary Clinton, as early as May 2, as reported by Fox News. However, most of the information has now been redacted by the FBI.
James Comey sent an email on May 2, 2016 to his chief of staff James Rybicki, general counsel James Baker, and Deputy Director Andrew McCabe, all of whom still serve in the Justice Department.
James Comey sent an email on May 2, 2016 to his chief of staff James Rybicki, general counsel James Baker, and Deputy Director Andrew McCabe, all of whom still serve in the Justice Department.
By May 16, Rybicki replied to the draft. “Please send me any comments on this statement so we may roll into a master doc for discussion with the Director at a future date. Thanks, Jim,” he said.
Details of the documents were first hinted at by Sen. Chuck Grassley (R-IA), and Sen. Lindsey Graham (R-SC), who serve as chair and a member, respectively, of the Senate Judiciary Committee. The Senators say they learned of the existence of the email from Justice Department aides, leading them to launch an investigation to uncover the email.
Knowledge of the email arose during the Judiciary Committee investigation of President Trump’s decision to fire the former FBI director.
In a joint statement, Senators Grassley and Graham wrote: “it appears that in April or early May of 2016, Mr. Comey had already decided he would issue a statement exonerating Secretary Clinton. That was long before FBI agents finished their work…The outcome of an investigation should not be prejudged while FBI agents are still hard at work trying to gather the facts.”
However, the existence of the email stands in sharp contrast to Comey’s Senate testimony in July 2017. When he announced the end of the investigation, Comey usurped the authority of the Attorney General. The FBI is allowed to recommend a course of action, but it is ultimately up to the Attorney General to decide whether or not to prosecute.
