Walking in the Julfa district
[By Behzad Bagheri in Isfahan, Iran] Julfa district is a special district in Isfahan for me to walk, communicate with people and sketch the buildings and acitvities.
The historic square of Julfa is an small public square in comparison to Naqshe-Jahan square.
Here is full of activities special in afternoons. There's mostly full of teenagers that time, and also some people come there to refresh and talk with their family members.
In north of the square there is a big beautiful sundial.
A sundial is a device that tells the time of day by the apparent position of the Sun in the sky. In the narrowest sense of the word, it consists of a flat plate (the dial) and a gnomon, which casts a shadow onto the dial. As the Sun appears to move across the sky, the shadow aligns with different hour-lines, which are marked on the dial to indicate the time of day. (From Wikipedia).
