#NeverTrump Troops Take Another One in the Shorts

You don’t get much more GOP “establishment” than Ed Gillespie.

He was chairman of the Republican National Committee.  He was a counselor to President George W. Bush.  He was a press secretary for John Kasich.  He was a senior strategist for Elizabeth Dole.  He was a senior advisor to Mitt Romney.

And he’s a founding member of a big bipartisan DC lobbying firm with mega-corporate clients like AT&T, Bank of America, Anthem and Microsoft.  In short, “Establishment Ed” is a creature of “The Swamp.”

Gillespie was expected to win the Virginia GOP gubernatorial primary in a cakewalk last June.  Instead, he barely squeaked by a pro-Trump candidate.

Then in the general election, the same pollsters who told us Hillary Clinton would be the next President of the United States spent the last couple of weeks telling us the race between Gillespie and Democrat Ralph Northam had tightened into a “dead heat.”

But when the smoke cleared on Election Night, Establishment Ed had been trounced.  Crushed.  Wiped out.  Blown away.  54-45 percent.  Landslide.

The establishment’s Perfumed Princes of Professional Punditry were left scratching their heads, staring at the navels and wondering “How could this happen?” while the fake news propaganda organs attributed the loss to a growing wave of anti-Trump sentiment.
Um, no.  Trump nailed it shortly after the results were final in a simple tweet: “Ed Gillespie worked hard but did not embrace me or what I stand for.”

Exactly.  Four weeks before the election, with Gillespie running way behind in most polls, Trump threw a lifeline to his fellow Republican and endorsed the GOP nominee in one of his patented tweets: “Vote Ed Gillespie!”

But Camp Gillespie treated it like a flaming paper bag of dog poop thrown on its porch by a teenage prankster.  As the Washington Post reported at the time, “Gillespie said he neither sought the president’s endorsement nor asked him to tweet on his behalf.”

Indeed, Gillespie’s crack communications team chose not re-tweet the presidential endorsement, comment on it until asked by the press, or even so much as say “thank you.”

“Not responding with great enthusiasm to Trump’s endorsement I don’t think will hurt him with Trump supporters,” declared political science professor Mark Rozell– reminding us once again that book-smart poli-sci profs don’t know doodly-squat about real campaigns.

The truth is Trump voters aren’t as dumb as the fake news media and the GOP establishment think they are.  They can smell a #NeverTrumper a mile away.  It doesn’t matter if the President endorses a candidate for what are clearly practical political reasons.  Trump voters are only going to support candidates who truly support Trump and his agenda.  Posers need not apply.

Just ask Luther Strange.

The electoral dynamic has changed dramatically since Trump was elected to the White House.  Among Trump supporters it’s not Republican vs. Democrat or even conservative vs. liberal.  It’s not black vs. white, rich vs. poor or urban vs. suburban.

It’s insiders vs. outsiders.  Us vs. them.  And if you ain’t with us, you’re against us.  You’re either with the President or we’re not with you.

“They” say Trump’s hard core constituency only accounts for 28 percent of the vote.  Now, 28 percent certainly isn’t a majority.  But it’s MORE than enough to cost a Republican an election if they stay home or vote for another candidate.  And for this 28 percent, these aren’t elections; they’re a reckoning.

Just ask Ed Gillespie.

But if you choose to deny this reality, consider the following: Democrat Northam will replace a Democrat governor in a Democrat state that went for Democrat Hillary Clinton.  Big whoop.  Nothing to see here.  Move along.

Rep. Andy Biggs: GOP Should Retroactively Cut Taxes for Fiscal Year 2017

by SEAN MORAN

Rep. Andy Biggs

Rep. Andy Biggs (R-AZ), a member of the House Freedom Caucus, wrote a letter to Speaker Paul Ryan and House Ways and Means Committee Chairman Kevin Brady (R-TX) that Republicans should retroactively cut taxes starting on January 1, 2017.

Congressman Biggs wrote, “We should implement all tax rate reductions and other provisions of the Tax Cuts and Jobs Act (H.R. 1) retroactive to January 1, 2017. While I appreciate that filers will see immediate benefits arising from decreased withholding in their paychecks already by January 2018, these same taxpayers will also fail to notice that their respective tax burdens have not decreased. Needless to say, the political fallout for Republicans could be dire.”
Biggs explained, “Delaying the tax cuts may also slow our nation’s economy. Since President Trump took office in January, our nation has seen three consecutive quarters of economic growth in excess of 3 percent.  By applying full retroactivity to this tax reform package and returning more hard-earned money back to individuals and small businesses to spend or invest as they see fit, we will be in the best position possible to capitalize on the enormous economic growth of the past few months. And the budget hawks need not even be concerned: history has shown again and again that the stimulus brought by tax relief pays for itself, especially when the overall economy is robust.”
Congressman Biggs suggested that by retroactively cutting taxes effective January 2017, Americans can continue to benefit from the growing economy. Furthermore, Biggs contends that if Republicans fail to retroactively cut taxes, then the average American may fail to realize that their taxes have actually decreased and that could spell disaster for Republicans during the 2018 midterm elections.

The Republican tax, which was unveiled last week, will collapse the seven income tax brackets into four rates starting at 12 percent for incomes below $45,000, 25 percent for $45,000 or higher, 35 percent at $200,000, and keeping the 39.6 percent rates at $500,000. The tax plan will also double the standard deduction for individual and married couples. The plan, also known as the Tax Cuts and Jobs Act, will cut the corporate tax rate for small businesses to 20 percent.
Republican lawmakers remain desperate for a victory ahead of the 2018 midterm elections after Republicans failed on Obamacare repeal.
House Freedom Caucus Chairman Mark Meadows (R-NC) cheered the Republican tax plan. On November 2, Meadows tweeted, “Today is a good day for the American people–#TaxRefom is headed in the right direction. Time to finish the job and get our economy going.”

Pat Caddell: U.S. Anti-Establishment Uprising Getting ‘Stronger, Not Weaker’

Pollster and political analyst Pat Caddell joined Breitbart News Daily SiriusXM host Stephen K. Bannon on Tuesday to discuss the 2016 election and politics in America today.
“I think it’s actually a bigger revolution than the Trump revolution,” said Caddell. “I think he’s the most obvious example of what I wrote a year ago … when I said the real November surprise was the uprising of the American people.”
“That uprising,” he continued, “is continual. It’s never covered. It’s never discussed. When I look at the data on this, it is, if anything, stronger, not weaker, and it is continuing to metamorphosize.”
Caddell pointed out that America unites around the feeling that the establishment has rigged the system against them. President Trump’s victory proved to people that they could beat the establishment and actually win.
“People believe the system is corrupt and against them, and guess what: they’re right,” he said.
Breitbart News Daily airs on SiriusXM Patriot 125 weekdays from 6:00 a.m. to 9:00 a.m. Eastern.

GOP Establishment Failure: Gillespie Lost by More Points Than Trump, Cuccinelli in Virginia Elections

by SEAN MORAN

Trump/Gillespie/Cuccinelli collage
Virginia Republican gubernatorial candidate Ed Gillespie’s loss to Ralph Northam represents a repudiation of the Republican establishment; Gillespie lost by more points than Donald Trump and Ken Cuccinelli.
Ed Gillespie lost to Ralph Northam 45 percent to Northam’s 54 percent, a stunning nine-point loss. Gillespie rose in the polls in the last few weeks of the election by taking President Donald Trump’s approach to combat MS-13, ban sanctuary cities, and preserve Virginia’s historical statues. However, reports suggested that Gillespie kept his distance from conservative outlets such Breitbart News.
During the 2016 presidential election, Hillary Clinton won Virginia with 49.8 percent of the vote, while Donald Trump won 44.4 percent of the vote, a 5.4-point loss.
In the 2013 gubernatorial election, Republican nominee Ken Cuccinelli lost to Democrat Terry McAuliffe, 45.5 percent to McAuliffe’s 48 percent, a 2.5 percent difference. Cuccinelli campaign strategist Chris La Civita argued that the Republican party abandoned the Cuccinelli campaign in its final days.
“There are a lot of questions people are going to be asking and that is, was leaving Cuccinelli alone in the first week of October, a smart move?” La Civita said after Cuccinelli’s concession speech, according to the Washington Post. “We were on our own. Just look at the volume [of ads].”
La Civita added that there was “definitely a national mood that was moving, that is moving, that is continuing to move against the White House and the Affordable Care Act. And I can’t help but ask myself, what would have been the result had he had five weeks of this discussion instead of just 2 ½?”
Andrew Surabian, senior adviser to the Great America Alliance and former White House adviser, said, “Ed Gillespie had no message, was inauthentic, spoke from both sides of his mouth, and at the end of the day, even the deplorables couldn’t save him. Gillespie campaigned with George W. Bush, [but] ran from President Trump.”
David Bozell, president of ForAmerica, argued that GOP establishment candidates like Gillespie cannot gather the conservative grassroots support. Bozell said:
All elections are base elections now. Guys like Gillespie, Jeb!, Kasich can’t muster needed energy with lackluster message.VA GOP doesn’t have it anymore. Gillespie had no message. No social media presence. No authenticity. Also, Swamp extends to Haymarket, apparently:

President Donald Trump tweeted on Tuesday that Gillespie lost because he did not embrace Trump or Trump’s nationalist-populist base. Trump tweeted, “Ed Gillespie worked hard but did not embrace me or what I stand for. Don’t forget, Republicans won 4 out of 4 House seats, and with the economy doing record numbers, we will continue to win, even bigger than before!”:

Donald Trump Doesn’t Bow to Japanese Emperor In Contrast with Barack Obama

by CHARLIE SPIERING

(AP Photos)
President Donald Trump visited Japanese Emperor Akihito,
but did not bow after greeting him at his palace.
That was a contrast to former President Barack Obama’s visit, when he drew criticism for a “deep bow” to the foreign dignitary.

Trump shook the hand of the Emperor and nodded his head slightly to signal respect.

Maria Bartiromo and Tom Perez Yell At Each Other in Nightmare Interview: ‘You’re in a Fictional Wonderland!’
by Aidan McLaughlin

I did not expect to witness an absolute train wreck of an interview when Tom Perez joined Maria Bartiromo on Fox Business Network Wednesday morning, but I did, and lordy it was hard to look away.
Things got off to a fairly amicable start, with Bartiromo asking the Democratic National Committee chairman about his party’s sweeping victories in Tuesday’s elections. Things went south when the host started verbally assaulting a tongue-tied Perez over Donna Brazile’s revelations of intra-party scandal.
Bartiromo accused the DNC of fixing the primaries in favor of Hillary Clinton, crying “it was rigged!” as Perez did his best to explain that Clinton still bested Bernie Sanders by four million votes.
“Maria, I understand that when the Democrats win as they did across the board last night that you would like to focus on other things,” Perez shot back, adding that the GOP “got their clocks cleaned last night.”
Then, after Perez touted Obamacare — and Bartiromo said the health care system was imploding — the two went messily back and forth, with Perez attempting to defend the Affordable Care Act and Bartiromo grilling him on whether he has spoken to Sanders since Brazile’s revelations.
“Does somebody owe Bernie Sanders a phone call, since now we know what took place, and everything was rigged, and you were behind Hillary Clinton?” she charged.
“Maria I don’t know if this is a lecture or a Q&A, you tell me,” Perez lamented.
The two yelled over each other for a few more minutes, until there was some room for reconciliation (and maybe even discourse!): Bartiromo doled out praise for Perez’s job as labor secretary under the Obama administration.
But no, all hope was lost, as Perez replied “you didn’t interrupt me as much then as you do now Maria,” causing Bartiromo to scoff and cast her glasses onto her desk.
She then asked Perez about why the DNC did not turn their computers over to the FBI for an investigation, to which he replied: “Maria, you’re in a fictional wonderland right now.”
Perez tried to turn the conversation back to Tuesday’s election results, claiming them as proof that voters embraced the Democrats’ vision.
“I haven’t heard a vision!” Bartiromo shouted back. “Your party has been hijacked by the extreme left, Barack Obama, Elizabeth Warren.”
As Perez outlined his vision for the Democratic party, Bartiromo challenged him on the particulars, and the train wreck segment slowly came to a grinding halt — replete with cutoff music.
As Bartiromo sent to commercial, she left with a “congratulations Tom” and this prayer gesture:

Brazile Declares Obama Was a Leech, Continues Scorching Old Democrat Friends

Brazi:
Former Democratic National Committee Chairwoman Donna Brazile has been on a roll recently. She’s ripped into the DNC’s former leadership, former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton and now former President Barack Obama.

In her new book, “Hacks: The Inside Story of the Break-ins and Breakdowns That Put Donald Trump in the White House,” Brazile outlined how Obama leeched off the Democrat Party to further his own causes, even if it meant bankrupting the entire party, The Daily Caller reported.

“We had three Democratic parties: The party of Barack Obama, the party of Hillary Clinton, and this weak little vestige of a party led by (Florida Rep. Debbie Wasserman-Schultz) that was doing a very poor job getting people who were not president elected,” Brazile wrote.

Brazile noted that Obama never needed the DNC because he rose up outside of the DNC fold, and thus didn’t need its help in raising money — but he wasn’t shy about using its money to further his political pursuits.

“This was not working to strengthen the party. He left it in debt. Hillary bailed it out so that she could control it, and Debbie went along with all of this because she liked the power and perks of being a chair but not the responsibilities,” Brazile wrote.

This truly is a scathing indictment of Obama and Clinton — one that isn’t going to go away overnight.

“(Obama) used the party to provide for political expenses like gifts to donors, and political travel,” Brazile wrote.

Brazile wrote that even during Obama’s second term, he used party money to fund pollsters and focus groups — even though he would never have to worry about running for re-election again.

Brazile tried to soften the criticisms somewhat, but the essential bitterness came through nonetheless.

“I knew that these three did not do this with malice,” she wrote.

“I knew if you woke any of them up in the middle of the night to ask them how they felt about the Democratic Party they would answer with sincerity that they loved this party and all it had done for the country and for them.”

“Yet they had leeched it of its vitality and were continuing to do so,” she added.

This is becoming quite a sight to see. Brazile has ripped into the Democrat party like few others have — and she’s been quite effective because she’s an insider.

“As I saw it, these three titanic egos — Barack, Hillary, and Debbie — had stripped the party to a shell for their own purposes,” Brazile wrote.

It’s about time someone exposed the dirt of the Democrat Party for the whole world to see.

I wouldn’t expect the Democrat Party to change after this — it would take a lot more than one book to do that — but at least now the American media can’t deny the corrupt ways of the Democrats.

Proof CNN Twisted Trump’s Words

CNN has always had a history of being VERY fake news and this just enforces everyone's beliefs.
In an attempt to make him look dumb, CNN edited a quote President Trump made while he was overseas on a trip to Japan.
CNN’s fake headline reads, “Trump asks Japan to build cars in the U.S. It already does.” This quote was completely twisted and made to suit CNN’s narrative.
Following the fake headline CNN went on to fact check the President by saying: “Japanese automakers, however, already have huge factories in the U.S. that churn out millions of cars each year.”
The actual, unedited quote by President Trump reads:
And we love it when you build cars — if you’re a Japanese firm, we love it — try building your cars in the United States instead of shipping them over.  Is that possible to ask?  That’s not rude.  Is that rude?  I don’t think so.  (Laughter.)  If you could build them. But I must say, Toyota and Mazda — where are you?  Are you here, anybody?  Toyota?  Mazda?  I thought so.  Oh, I thought that was you.  That’s big stuff.  Congratulations.  Come on, let me shake your hand.  (Applause.)  They’re going to invest $1.6 billion in building a new manufacturing plant, which will create as many as 4,000 new jobs in the United States.  Thank you very much.  Appreciate it.  (Applause.)
What do you think?

Diehl for U.S. Senate
Friend,
Next year at this time Senator Elizabeth Warren will either be packing up her office or she will be preparing to run for President...
Which one do you want it to be?
Warren’s vision for America is too extreme left.  She wants single payer healthcare (socialized medicine), open borders, amnesty for illegal immigrants, favors admitting more refugees into our country, higher taxes, and more regulations on businesses to stifle job growth.
Just over the past year, Warren has:
X Called people who disagree with her an “ugly stew of racism,”
X Referred to repealing Obamacare as “blood money,”
X Refused to help Veterans Assisting Veterans,
X Raised money in Hollywood during the Harvey Weinstein scandal,
X Worked to block Trump’s policies on border security,
X Unfairly criticized the police,
X Received a ‘Zero’ rating from the National Tax Limitation Committee for failing to ever stand up for taxpayers while making millions of dollars selling her book,
X Failed to return thousands of dollars donated from Ben Affleck after he admitted to groping a woman (and from accused groper, Oliver Stone),
X Failed to return donations from Senator Bob Menendez after he had been indicted on 18 counts of bribery,
X Worked to take away our Second Amendment rights,
X Continued to be the Chief Obstructionist in Washington.
It will only get worse if she is re-elected.  We need to stop her now! Will you help me?
I’m the true conservative who is going to defeat her.
I have a proven track record of winning, not only elections, but also for conservative causes.  I’m a State Representative in the Massachusetts legislature, who has taken on the special interest groups, the lobbyists, the establishment, and Democrats, and won!  Moreover, I’m a proud husband, father, Eagle Scout and small business owner.
I led the successful grassroots fight to repeal automatic gas tax hikes –saving taxpayers $2 billion!
Will you join my campaign to defeat her by making a donation of $250, $100, $50 or $35??
We have a real opportunity to DEFEAT her and elect a proven conservative.
As an Eagle Scout, I learned that one person who really cares can make a positive difference.  I have the proven track record of waging the good fight at the State House for fiscal accountability, lower taxes, and to stop illegal immigration.
Sincerely,
Geoff Diehl
Candidate for U.S. Senate
P.S.  We cannot take another 6 years of Warren’s dangerous agenda or her running for President.  To wage this important and ultimately successful battle, I need your strong financial support.  I cannot do it without you.  Please let me know that you are with me by making a donation of $2700, $1000, $500, $250, $100, $50 or $35 right away.
Thank you!

Putin Sends Powerful Message To Trump, Look What He Said

Ben Baker
Though relations are strained between Russia and the United States, Russian President Vladimir Putin took the time to send a powerful message to President Trump.
The official Twitter feed of the Russian Embassy posted a tweet stating that President Putin sent a letter offering his condolences to President Trump regarding the Texas massacre. The statement reads“Please, accept my condolences over the tragedy that has occurred in Texas. It is difficult to imagine a crueler and more cynical crime than the killing of people during a church service.”
The New York Daily News reported the terrible tragedy that befell the nation on Sunday and the hands of Devin Kelley. Kelley stormed into the Sutherland Springs, TX house of worship wearing a bulletproof vest, a skull-faced mask and wielding a Ruger AR-556 assault rifle.

This deranged individual proceeded to fire upon the churchgoers, unleashing 450 bullets into the crowd of parishioners. The horrific attack left 26 dead and at least 20 wounded, one of the worst shootings in Texas history.

After spraying the crowd with bullets, he fled the church and was confronted by a neighbor, Stephen Willeford, wielding a rifle. Mr. Willeford shot Kelley in the leg and torso before Kelley escaped to his car and fled off.

Mr. Willeford and a second individual gave chase. The high-speed pursuit resulted in Kelley’s car crashing. It is suspected that Kelley then killed himself via a self-inflicted gunshot wound.

Freeman Martin of the Texas Public Safety Department couldn’t give a definitive answer behind the motivation behind the murders but did suggest it could’ve been the result of a domestic dispute between Kelley and his in-laws.

According to Mr. Martin: “We know there was conflict between the families and whether that was revenge or not would be speculation on my part,”
Kelley’s past is riddled not only with violent assault and domestic disputes, but with a determined path away from his faith in God. In 2012, he was charged via court-martial with two instances of domestic assault, one of which resulted in Kelley beating his infant stepson so viciously his skull was cracked.

The terrible tragedy leaving 26 dead has seen individuals and organizations from all over offering a hand to the victims and their families. According to News 4 Antonio, the H-E-B grocery store chain publicly announced that it would donate $150,000 to help the families that were affected by the tragedy.

Vice President of Public Affairs, Diversity & Environmental Affairs for H-E-B, Winell Herron, stated: “H-E-B is committed to providing assistance during times of crisis. Our hearts reach out to all at this tragic, painful time. It is our hope that H-E-B’s donations, along with our loyal customers’ support, will help our neighbors in Sutherland Springs. This is a difficult situation for many as they grieve and face unimaginable loss.”

Russian President Vladimir Putin sent his condolences to the victims of the church shooting in Texas. How does this make Putin look?

According to ABC News, President Trump, deep into his Asian tour, stated that investigators would have full support from his administration. He later stated, “Our hearts are broken but in dark times — and these are dark times — such as these, Americans do what they do best.”

Though this terrible tragedy has a rocked a nation still reeling from the Las Vegas shooting last month and other horrific acts of violence and loss, it’s encouraging to see the goodness in others rise out of the darkness.

Dave Brat: Gillespie Lost Because He Didn’t ‘Run on the Populist Message’

Virginia congressman said the gubernatorial race was 'a disaster' for the GOP because it didn't 'nationalize the election'

by Kathryn Blackhurst

Virginia Rep. Dave Brat said Wednesday on “The Laura Ingraham Show” that Ed Gillespie’s run for governor in Virginia was a “disaster” because Gillespie refused to embrace fully the populist message President Donald Trump campaigned on in 2016.

Brat, who pulled off one of the biggest upsets in congressional history when he ousted former House Majority Leader Eric Cantor in the 2014 GOP primary, attributed much of his victory to embracing the type of populist message Trump took to the voters nationally in 2016. LifeZette Editor-in-Chief Laura Ingraham lamented the fact that Gillespie largely distanced himself from Trump and only took Ingraham up on her offer to appear on her radio show last week when “it was too late.” Up until that point, Ingraham said Gillespie had treated both her and populist former White House chief strategist Steve Bannon as “lepers.”

Noting that Gillespie didn't run the type of campaign that he ran back in 2014 and 2016, Brat told Ingraham that the Virginia gubernatorial election "was a disaster" for Republicans, saying: "We didn't nationalize the election." Instead, Lt. Gov. Ralph Northam (D) won the gubernatorial election by roughly 9 percent of the vote.

"The Democrats nationalized it, right? And we didn't nationalize it along the lines you're talking about — immigration policy, tax policy," he said. "The Democrats raised taxes by $10 trillion in their budget, and you haven't heard our leadership mention that. It's just shocking."

Saying that Gillespie and Virginia Republicans "failed to mention the failure of Obamacare" in an election that the Democrats "nationalized," Brat lamented that his party also lost its significant majority in Virginia's House of Delegates.

"We had two-thirds advantage in the House of Delegates, and now I think best-case scenario is about a break-even," he said. "We got devastated, but we've got to up our game and run on the populist message."

Brat noted that although he carried his district by 15 percent in 2016, Gillespie only won it by 4 percent.

"So I'm going to have a tough race. You can tell the folks to help me out in any way they can to spread the word and help me out," he told Ingraham.

"[Gillespie] got out a pretty good chunk of the vote, but the Democrats did even better, right? And so they lit it up in terms of turnout. We matched the previous races," Brat added. "But if he would have had the Trump populist message on board, right? You would have had people coming out of the rafters, like when you came down to visit me, right?"

When Ingraham campaigned for Brat back in 2014, the Virginia congressman noted that "people were hanging from the rafters" in their excitement.

"We were expecting 200 people, 800 people showed up. You need that dynamism and that energy. So Ed was starting to capture some of that," Brat said. "He was starting to get there, but you've got to follow through and nationalize it, right?"

G’ day…Ciao…
