Reminding Chicago
[by Mário Linhares, when in Chicago, USA]
Attending a Symposium is an opportunity to learn and grow.
To learn about the culture.
To learn about the language.
To learn about the food.
To learn about the people.
To learn about the sketchers.
To learn new sketching techniques.
To learn about new art stuff.
To learn about our world, why we are so similar, even if we live so far away...
Last time I gave a workshop at the Symposium was in Lisbon, 2011. Since then, I've been working to encourage others to teach at the Symposium (don't miss the deadline to submit your workshop proposal) and improving the Education Department of Urban Sketchers. It's truly a pleasure to work with some many great people from every corner of Earth.
I don't understand the news on these days. When I think about USk, I think about a second family, warmness, hugs and smiles.
Thanks, Virginia Hein, for the great workshop you taught in the gardens of Chicago.
