For Auction: Ending in six days (so...the 14th?)
Hi, Everybody! So back when Dave was auctioning his IDW covers I set up an alert from Heritage Auctions for any "Dave Sim" stuff they had.
Here's today's catch:
| Dave Sim and Gerhard Ye Bookes of Cerebus Signed Limited Edition Lithograph Print #7/125 (St. Bonaventure University/Aardvark Vanaheim, 2005) |
Dave Sim and Gerhard Ye Bookes of Cerebus Signed Limited Edition Lithograph Print #7/125 (St. Bonaventure University/Aardvark Vanaheim, 2005). Created to be sold in conjunction with an exhibition of the comic art of Dave Sim and Gerhard at the Quick Center of the St. Bonaventure University in the Fall of 2005 through January of 2006, this 10" x 15" print is signed by both creators and numbered #7 of 125 in the lower left margin. In Excellent condition.I actually was at the appearance Dave and Ger did there in 2005. (See Cerebus In Matt's Life Part the...Fifteenth(?) I dunno, part the Second is May 1993, and this was sometime in 2005, so I won't get there for awhile.) I DID NOT buy one of these then, because I am a moron. $#!*, maybe I shouldn't be posting this...
And:
| Gerhard World Without Cerebus: Twenty Seven Signed Limited Edition Lithograph Print #8/150 (c. 2008). |
Gerhard World Without Cerebus: Twenty Seven Signed Limited Edition Lithograph Print #8/150 (c. 2008). The World Without Cerebus series was inspired by Brian Coppola, a long-time fan of Dave Sim's Cerebus the Aardvark. The idea was to bring the brilliant work by background artist Gerhard into the foreground by removing all of the 'distracting' characters. These are just scenes from the comic. The print, titled "Twenty Seven", is a reference to the events of Cerebus #12, whereupon he 'celebrates' his 27th birthday by attempting to steal a boat load of gold. This high-quality full color print measures 19" x 15", with an image area of 15" x 10". It is numbered and signed below the image area. In Excellent condition.Another of the excellent "World Without Cerebus" prints. I don't own this either. $#!*, this whole post is gonna end up %&^+ing me is the @$$...
Next time: Maybe Matt'll stop %&^+ing himself in the @$$ long enough to find some original art he could never afford...
