[Drawings by Sharon Frost.]The bad part of attachment to other shores, cultures, languages is that you're always homesick for somewhere else. There's a yearning that's called añoranza in Andalucía. Intense sense of place can be a wonderful thing, and there's a bit of sadness as well..

This seaside bar and music venue is a great showcase for local musicians, mostly flamenco, but this one is full fusion. Everybody sits outside under umbrellas. I've never even seen the bar itself. |
