I received a mail from Margo Bartley, Australian who was staying at Hokkaido, Japan for her business and asking us to sketch together last week. After having one sketch time with her at Jongno Tower building where we, Seoul Urban Sketchers, sketched several times before, we went to the observatory next day. She liked the place where we could look down the beautiful palace through window. While sketching one guy looked my sketch behind me. I began to talk with him. He was touring Seoul with his friends from Guangzhou, China and it was the last day of his stay. He visited the place on the way going to Seoul Museum of Art located near the observatory. And I could know he was an artist too. I asked him to sketch one with us trying to give paper if he wanted. He said he was carrying sketching tools in his sack! At last he put out them and began to draw very sincerely. After he had finished his work Lee Yong Hwan proposed him to sketch his portrait. He posed for him and the drawing was presented by YH Lee. What made us surprise was that he said he would like to draw YH Lee as a return. Wow....he began to draw. It was a rare scene to see YH Lee take a pose for other artist. The result was so great. YH Lee was very glad to get his portrait by a young sketcher from China. Though the meeting time was short the memory would go long. It was a very special moment shared by sketchers over the sea unexpectedly.
