Nickelodeon USA's 2018 Kids’ Choice Awards Night Ratings
Nickelodeon USA's live telecast of Nickelodeon’s 2018 Kids’ Choice Awards was watched by 2,340,000 viewers. Unfortunately, this represents a big drop from Nickelodeon's 2017 Kids' Choice Awards, watched by 3,650,000 viewers, and is one of the largest year-to-year percentage drops on record for Nickelodeon's annual awards show.
The live telecast of Nickelodeon’s 2018 Kids’ Choice Awards on Nick USA, simulcast across Nicktoons and TeenNick, on Saturday 24th March 2017 at 8:00pm (ET/PT), which, hosted by WWE Superstar John Cena for the second year in the row, saw kids honoring their favourites from the worlds of film, music and television, and give kids a front-row seat to slime, stunts and celebrities. Below is a breakdown of the ratings:
Nickelodeon:
Nick: (8-9pm) 1,919,000 (0.46 P18-49 Rating);
Nick at Nite (9-9:30pm): 1,765,000 (0.49 P18-49 Rating)
Nicktoons: 219,000 (0.04 P18-49 Rating)
TeenNick: 279,000 (0.09 P18-49 Rating)
Unfortunately, the lead-in and lead-out's for KCA 2018 also suffered big drops in ratings, compared to previous years:
The first-part of the brand-new Henry Danger special "Back To The Danger" at 7:30pm, simulcast on Nicktoons and TeenNick, was watched by 2,059,000 viewers:
Nickelodeon: 1,723,000 (0.37 P18-49 Rating)
Nicktoons: 178,000 (0.03 P18-49 Rating)
TeenNick: 158,000 (0.04 P18-49 Rating)
The new Henry Danger episode that premiered before Nickelodeon's 2017 Kids' Choice Awards was watched by 3,016,000 viewers.
Leading out of KCA 2018 was the brand-new Knight Squad episode "Tonight, Two Knight" at 9:31pm, also simulcast on Nicktoons and TeenNick, which was watched by 1,282,000 viewers:
Nick@Nite: 969,000 (0.27)
Nicktoons: 170,000 (0.03 P18-49 Rating)
TeenNick: 143,000 (0.04 P18-49 Rating)
A massive drop from the lead-out for KCA 2017, a preview episode of Hunter Street, which was watched by 2,224,000 viewers.
This years Kids’ Choice Awards was more political than previous years, as it was held on the same day as the national March For Our Lives protest event, which was referenced multiple times throughout the show, including by Stranger Things actor Millie Bobby Brown.
