HOLY COW: The Seth Rich Murder Case Just Took An Unexpected Turn

The murder of Seth Rich, a Bernie Sanders supporter and DNC staffer, went unsolved. It was reported as a “botched robbery” by the Washington Metro police.
In the aftermath of that murder, cover-up after cover-up has taken place; with people questioning why this murder seems so odd.
Now, we have even more confirmation that Seth Rich leaked emails to Julian Assange of Wikileaks prior to the 2016 election. This new report, claiming Seth Rich’s parents admitted Seth was the Wikileaks leaker, doesn’t just destroy the Russia hacking narrative, but it also bring the murder of Seth Rich back into serious question.
The Seth Rich case just took an interesting turn:
“According to Ed Butowsky, an acquaintance of the family, in his discussions with Joel and Mary Rich, they confirmed that their son transmitted the DNC emails to Wikileaks.”https://t.co/EM4ATpwfkC
— Kim Dotcom (@KimDotcom) March 2, 2018
Who murdered Seth Rich and for what purpose?
The Washington Times reports:

The first deals with the murder of the Democratic National Committee (DNC) staffer Seth Rich, and the second deals with the alleged hacking of the DNC server by Russia. Both should be of prime interest to special counsel Robert Mueller, but do not hold your breath.

The facts that we know of in the murder of the DNC staffer, Seth Rich, was that he was gunned down blocks from his home on July 10, 2016. Washington Metro police detectives claim that Mr. Rich was a robbery victim, which is strange since after being shot twice in the back, he was still wearing a $2,000 gold necklace and watch. He still had his wallet, key and phone. Clearly, he was not a victim of robbery.

This has all the earmarks of a targeted hit job. However, strangely no one has been charged with this horrific crime, and what is more intriguing is that no law enforcement agency is even investigating this murder. According to other open sources, Metro police were told by their “higher ups” that if they spoke about the case, they will be immediately terminated. It has been claimed that this order came down from very high up the “food chain,” well beyond the D.C.
Many on the right have been claiming Rich was murdered by the DNC and Hillary Clinton’s hitman for leaking the emails exposing DNC corruption and collusion to Wikileaks.
On the left, that “conspiracy theory” has been denounced and apparently “debunked” without actually being debunked.
Democrats have relentlessly claimed Russia hacked their emails, but have refused to let the FBI investigate their servers.
People are even questioning why Mueller, who is supposedly investigating Russian collusion, hasn’t contacted Julian Assange of Wikileaks who the Democrats claimed received emails hacked from the DNC by Russian agents.
What Robert Mueller hasn’t done:
1- Check the DNC server that they refuse to let FBI see, but insist was hacked by Russia.

2- Look into Seth Rich murder, which would prove Russia didn’t hack DNC

3- Talk to Julian Assange, the 1 man who knows who “hacked” DNC

— Stonewall Jackson (@1776Stonewall) March 2, 2018
The Washington Post continued diving deeper into the strange murder of Seth Rich:

One more unexplained twist is that on July 10, 2016, the same day Seth Rich was murdered, an FBI agent’s car was burglarized in the same vicinity. Included in the FBI equipment stolen was a 40 caliber Glock 22. D.C. Metro police issued a press release, declaring that the theft of the FBI agent’s car occurred between 5 and 7 a.m. Two weeks later, the FBI changed the time of the theft to between 12 a.m. and 2 a.m. Was the FBI gun used to shoot Seth Rich? Neither the FBI nor the Metro police will discuss.

Since then, the DNC hired a “spokesperson,” Brad Burman, a known hatchet man to basically cut off any further communications with Mr. Rich’s parents. Interestingly, it is well known in the intelligence circles that Seth Rich and his brother, Aaron Rich, downloaded the DNC emails and was paid by Wikileaks for that information.
Matt Couch, the face of America First Media Group, has been investigating the Seth Rich murder longer than anybody out there. On his Twitter feed, he posts endless content regarding the murder and people closely connected to Seth Rich.
The facts are, Ed Butowsky is an American Patriot and responsible for getting the Benghazi truth out to The American People.

He's been an enemy of the Clinton's ever since.

They will do anything to hurt the reputation of Butowsky.

Butowsky kept Benghazi & Seth Rich alive.

— Matt Couch 🎙 (@RealMattCouch) March 2, 2018

This murder, which has some extremely coincidental pieces to it, seems to be heating.

Julian Assange has also had a hour glass timer on his Twitter name for over a month now.

Could he be predicting the tick tock that’s to come?

Is the swamp deeper than anybody realizes? Only time will tell. It’s strange that Democrats don’t even want to solve the murder of one of their staffers.

Check out more tweets below:

Seth Rich’s family admitted he was the Wikileaks email leaker.

Podesta sent an email saying they should make an example of the leaker.

Seth Rich was murdered in an unsolved “botched robbery.”

Corrupt D.C. police have done nothing.

Not going to jump to conclusions… but…

— Jack Murphy (@RealJack) March 2, 2018
None of this is conspiracy theory. Just facts.

We still don’t know who pulled the trigger on the gun that killed Seth Rich, and we still don’t know who is running cover by attacking any PI who looks into the case.

We need to find out.

— Jacob Wohl (@JacobAWohl) March 2, 2018

I started as a hard core skeptic of the Seth Rich conspiracy theory. But I surrender. https://t.co/Cin9v66yfS

HOW MUSLIM VIOLENCE SHAPED THE WORLD
Bill Federer relates brutality, massacres on history of Europe, America

Saracens

Caliph Umar fought alongside of Mohammed in nearly all his battles. Umar’s daughter Hafsa was one of Mohammed’s wives. Waging jihad, Umar conquered enormous areas, including:
  • Mesopotamia
  • Parts of Persia
  • Egypt
  • Palestine
  • Syria
  • North Africa
  • Armenia
  • Damascus
  • Jerusalem
The world’s oldest library was in Alexandria, Egypt. Persian traveler Abd-Al-Latif Al Baghdadi and Syrian prelate Bar Hebraeus related when Caliph Umar invaded in 641 A.D., he told his commander Amr bin al-Ass: “Touching the books you mention, if what is written in them agrees with the Qur’an, they are not required; if it disagrees, they are not desired. Destroy them therefore.”
The account continues that the library books were burned to heat the city’s bath-houses for six months. Libraries in Babylon, Syria and Greece met similar fates.
This is reflected in current reports, such as Breitbart News, April 13, 2016: “ISIS militants also raided the Central Library of Mosul to destroy all non-Islamic books. ‘These books promote infidelity and call for disobeying Allah,’ announced a militant to the residents. ‘So they will be burned.'”
When the Islamic conquest cut off the supply of papyrus reeds used for paper in Europe, there was a decline of literacy, beginning of the Dark Ages.
In Egypt, Muslim Caliphs instituted government commissions to seek out the Pharaohs’ tombs for plundering. This effort to erase Egyptian history was so thorough that in a few generations, Egyptians had no memory of who built the Great Pyramids.
This is similar to the modern day jihad destruction of:
  • Buddhist statues in Afghanistan;
  • Assyrian Museum
  • The prophet Jonah’s grave in Nineveh (Mosul, Iraq)
  • Ayotollah Khomeini’s attempt to destroy Cyrus’ ancient Persian palace at Persepolis
  • Egyptian rioters trashing mummies
  • Ancient Syrian and Chaldean churches dating back to the time of the Apostles were blown up
Mohammed had stated: “Do not leave an image without obliterating it, or a high grave without leveling it.” (Hadith Sahih Muslim, 2115)
As the “rightly guided” Muslim Caliphs conquered North Africa and the Middle East, it interrupted Mediterranean trade, economically devastating Rome and Byzantium. In 846 A.D., just 46 years after Charlemagne was crowned Holy Roman Emperor in Rome’s old St. Peter’s basilica, 11,000 Muslim attacked. They sacked Rome, looted old St. Peter’s basilica and St. Paul Outside the Wall Church, desecrating the graves of both St. Peter and St. Paul. As a result, Pope Leo IV began building the wall around the Vatican.
In 849 A.D., Muslims Saracen raiders set sail from Sardinia with a fleet to invade Rome. Pope Leo rallied the cities of Amalfi, Gaeta and Naples to send ships to block the mouth of the Tiber River near Ostia. Muslims attacked and the fighting was fierce, when suddenly a violent storm arose, dividing the Christians fleet from the Muslim attackers. The Christian ships were able to make it back to port and weather the storm, but the Muslim ships were severely damaged and scattered. When the storm subsided, the remaining Muslim ships were easily captured.
In the 1400s, as Muslims invaded Constantinople, Byzantium, and Greece, they destroyed churches, libraries, schools, museums, graves and artwork. Greeks scholars fled west to Florence, Italy, reintroducing their Greek art, architecture and philosophy to western Europe. This is called “the Renaissance.”
President Obama referred to this while giving a speech in Egypt, June 4, 2009: “It was Islam … paving the way for Europe’s Renaissance.”
Jean-Jacques Rousseau (1712–1778), considered the Father of the French Revolution, owned a dog named “Sultan.” He wrote in “Discourse on the Arts and Sciences” (1750, translated by Ian Johnston): “Europe had fallen back into the barbarity. … A revolution was necessary to bring men back to common sense, and it finally came from a quarter where one would least expect it. It was the stupid Muslim, the eternal blight on learning, who brought about its rebirth among us. The collapse of the throne of Constantine carried into Italy the debris of ancient Greece. France, in its turn, was enriched by these precious remnants. The sciences soon followed letters. To the art of writing was joined the art of thinking.”
In retrospect, Islam was instrumental in bringing about “the Dark Ages” when they conquered Egypt, cut off trade across the Mediterranean and held back the ships of papyrus; and Islam was instrumental in “the Renaissance” when they invaded Greece and destroyed Greek culture, causing scholars to flee to Italy.
In fact, the very concepts of “Europe” and “Christendom” took shape in response to the Islamic invasion, as previously Europe viewed itself as innumerable independent kingdoms. This was similar to the 13 American colonies having to work together against the king of England, giving birth to the concept of the “united” States.
As the Greek culture was devastated, scholars also carried to the west their Greek New Testaments and ancient Biblical manuscripts. Soon, western European scholars, like Erasmus – a friend of Martin Luther – began translating the Bible not just from Latin, but from Greek. This renewed interest in the original language and meaning of words in Greek New Testament laid the foundation for “the Reformation.”
In 1517, Martin Luther began the Reformation by posting 95 theses, or debate questions, on the Wittenberg Church door in Saxony, Germany. Different German kings became Lutheran or “Reformed Christian” and broke away from the Catholic Holy Roman Empire.
In 1529, 100,000 Ottoman Muslim warriors surrounded Vienna, Austria, under the command of Sultan Suleiman the Magnificent. He sent suicide bombers at the gates and had miners tunnel under the walls.
Miraculously, Vienna was saved by torrential freezing rain which fell for weeks, resulting in sickness among Suleiman’s troops. He abandoned the attack and left, but not before beheading 4,000 Christian hostages.
Suleiman attempted to attack Vienna again in 1532, but was turned back. In 1534, Suleiman led his Ottoman Turkish Sunni Muslims to conquer the Shi’a Muslims of Persia (Iran). He annexed most of the Middle East and huge areas of North Africa, including the Barbary States of Tripoli, Tunisia, Algeria and Morocco.
Catholic Spain used the gold from the New World to finance the defense of Europe against the Ottoman invasion. Holy Roman Emperor Charles V of Spain, fought Suleiman’s ships which attacked the southern coasts of Europe.
In 1535, Charles won a victory against the Muslims at Tunis. But like the West’s political disunity prior to the fall of the Byzantine Empire, France decided in 1536 to begin allying itself with Muslim Sultan Suleiman against Spain’s Charles V. As a result, Charles V was forced to sign a humiliating treaty with the Ottomans, allowing them to gain naval dominance on the Mediterranean Sea.
Later notable battles against the Ottomans include:
  • Siege of Malta, September 11, 1565
  • Battle of Lepanto, October 7, 1571
  • Battle of Vienna, September 11, 1683
  • Battle of Zenta, September 11, 1697
An in-depth look at the 1,400 year Islamic conquest is in the book “What Every American Needs to Know about the Qur’an – A History of Islam & the United States.” To fully understand how seriously Europe felt threatened, it is insightful to read quotes from notable leaders. As recorded in Luther’s Works – American Edition, 55 volumes (Philadelphia: Fortress; St. Louis: Concordia, 1955–1986, vol. 46:170–171), Martin Luther stated: “The Turk is the rod of the wrath of the Lord our God. … If the Turk’s god, the devil, is not beaten first, there is reason to fear that the Turk will not be so easy to beat. … Christian weapons and power must do it. … (The fight against the Turks) must begin with repentance, and we must reform our lives, or we shall fight in vain. (The Church should) drive men to repentance by showing our great and numberless sins and our ingratitude, by which we have earned God’s wrath and disfavor, so that He justly gives us into the hands of the devil and the Turk.”
Luther wrote in “Preface to Book of Revelation” (1530): “2nd woe … the 6th [evil] angel, the shameful Mohammed with his companions, the Saracens, who inflicted great plagues on Christendom, with his doctrine and with the sword.”
In “On War Against the Turk” (1529), Luther wrote: “The Turk is the very devil incarnate. … The Turk fills heaven with Christians by murdering their bodies.”
In “Luther’s Works” (3:121–122), Luther wrote: “Yet it is more in accordance with the truth to say that the Turk is the Beast, because he is outside the church and openly persecutes Christ.”
Luther wrote (“Tischreden,” 1532, Weimer, ed., 1, 330): “The Turk is the flesh of Antichrist … (which) slaughters bodily by the sword.”
John Calvin wrote to Philip Melanchthon in 1543 (“Selected Works of John Calvin: Tracts & Letters,” I:373): “I hear of the sad condition of your Germany! … The Turk again prepares to wage war with a larger force. Who will stand up to oppose his marching throughout the length and breadth of the land, at his mere will and pleasure?”
Calvin wrote in “Commentary of 2nd Thessalonians”: “Since Mohammed was an apostate, he turned his followers, the Turks, from Christ. … The sect of Mohammed was like a raging overflow, which in its violence tore away about half of the Church.”
John Calvin wrote in “Commentary on Daniel”: “Turks have spread far and wide, and the world is filled with impious despisers of God.”
John Calvin wrote in “Sermons on Timothy & Titus”: “The Turks at this day, can allege and say for themselves: ‘We serve God from our ancestors!’ – It is a good while since Mahomet gave them the cup of his devilish dreams to drink, and they got drunk with them. It is about a thousand years since cursed hellhounds were made drunk with their follies – Let us be wise and discreet! – For otherwise, we shall be like the Turks and Heathen.”
John Calvin wrote in “Institutes of the Christian Religion” (Book II, Chapter VI): “For even if many men once boasted that they worshiped … the Maker of heaven and earth, yet because they had no Mediator it was not possible for them truly to taste God’s mercy, and thus be persuaded that he was their Father. … So today the Muslim Turks, although they proclaim at the top of their lungs that the Creator of heaven and earth is God, still, while repudiating Christ, substitute an idol in place of the true God.”
John Wesley, the founder of Methodism, wrote in “The Doctrine of Original Sin” (1817, p. 35; Works, 1841, ix. 205): “Let us now calmly and impartially consider what manner of men the Mahometans in general are. … Men who have but a moderate share of reason, cannot but observe in his Koran … the most gross and impious absurdity. … Who can swallow such absurdities as divinely revealed. Mahometans not only condemn all who cannot swallow them to everlasting fire; not only appropriate to themselves the title of … true believers: but even anathematise … all their brethren … who contend for a figurative interpretation.”
Wesley continued: “That these men then have no knowledge or love of God is undeniably manifest, not only from their gross, horrible notions of him, but from their not loving their brethren. … Mahometans will butcher each other by thousands. … Why is it that such numbers of Turks and Persians have stabbed one another in cool blood? “Truly, because they differ in the manner of dressing their head. The Ottoman vehemently maintains … that a Mussulman should wear a round turban … whereas the Persian insists upon his liberty of conscience, and will wear it picked before. So, for this wonderful reason … they beat out each other’s brains from generation to generation.”
Wesley concluded: “Ever since the religion of Mahomet appeared in the world, the espousers of it, particularly those under the Turkish emperor, have been as wolves and tigers to all other nations; rending and tearing all that fell into their merciless paws, and grinding them with their iron teeth. … Numberless cities are razed from the foundation, and only their name remaining. … Many countries which were once as the garden of God, are now a desolate wilderness. … Such was, and is at this day, the rage, the fury, the revenge, of these destroyers of humankind!”
Jonathan Edwards, first president of Princeton, wrote in “A History of the Work of Redemption” (1739): “Those mighty kingdoms of Antichrist and Mohammed … trampled the world under foot. … Great works of the devil … swallowed up the Ancient Roman Empire. … Satan’s Mohometan kingdom (swallowed) the Eastern Empire.”
Jonathan Edwards stated in “The Fall of Antichrist” (1829, NY: S. Converse pub., part vii, p. 395): “By the false prophet … here an eye seems to be had to Mahomet, whom his followers call the great prophet of God. Revelation 16:13”
In 1258, two centuries before the Reformation, Thomas Aquinas wrote “Summa contra Gentiles” (translated by Anton C. Pegis, University of Notre Dame Press, 1975). He wrote in Book 1, Chapter 6: “Mohammed … seduced the people by promises of carnal pleasure to which the concupiscence of the flesh goads us … and he gave free reign to carnal pleasure. In all this, as is not unexpected, he was obeyed by carnal men. As for proofs of the truth of his doctrine, he brought forward only such as could be grasped by the natural ability of anyone with a very modest wisdom. Indeed, the truths that he taught he mingled with many fables and doctrines of the greatest falsity. He did not bring forth any signs produced in a supernatural way, which alone fittingly gives witness to divine inspiration. …
“On the contrary, Mohammed said that he was sent in the power of his arms – which are signs not lacking even to robbers and tyrants. … Those who believed in him were brutal men and desert wanderers, utterly ignorant of all divine teaching, through whose numbers Mohammed forced others to become his followers by the violence of his arms. … He perverts almost all the testimonies of the Old and New Testaments by making them into fabrications of his own, as can be seen by anyone who examines his law. It was, therefore, a shrewd decision on his part to forbid his followers to read the Old and New Testaments, lest these books convict him of falsity. … Those who place any faith in his words believe foolishly.”
Voltaire (1694–1778) wrote the play “Fanaticism, or Mahomet,” explaining to Pope Benedict XIV, Aug. 17, 1745: “Your holiness will pardon the liberty taken by … this performance written in opposition to the founder of a false and barbarous sect. To whom could I with more propriety inscribe a satire on the cruelty and errors of a false prophet.”
Voltaire wrote to Frederick II of Prussia, Dec. 1740, referring to Muhammad: “But that a camel-merchant should stir up insurrection in his village; that in league with some miserable followers he persuades them that he talks with the angel Gabriel; that he boasts of having been carried to heaven, where he received in part this unintelligible book, each page of which makes common sense shudder; that, to pay homage to this book, he delivers his country to iron and flame; that he cuts the throats of fathers and kidnaps daughters; that he gives to the defeated the choice of his religion or death: this is assuredly nothing any man can excuse, at least if he was not born a Turk, or if superstition has not extinguished all natural light in him.”
Montesquieu wrote in “The Spirit of the Laws” (1748): “Moderate government is most agreeable to the Christian Religion, and a despotic government to the Mahometan. … While the Mahommedan princes incessantly give or receive death, the religion of the Christians renders their princes … less cruel. … It is the Christian religion that … has hindered despotic power. … From the characters of the Christian and Mahometan religions, we ought, without any further examination, to embrace the one and reject the other: The Mahometan Religion, which speaks only by the sword, acts still upon men with that destructive spirit with which it was founded.”
Scottish philosopher David Hume (1711–1776) wrote in “Of the Standard of Taste” (1760): “Followers of the Qur’an insist on the excellent moral precepts interspersed through that wild and absurd performance. It is to be supposed, that the Arabic words, which correspond to the English, equity, justice, temperance, meekness, charity … must always be taken in a good sense; and it would have argued the greatest ignorance, not of morals, but of language, to have mentioned them with any epithets, besides those of applause and approbation.
“But would we know, whether the pretended prophet had really attained a just sentiment of morals? Let us attend to his narration; and we shall soon find, that he bestows praise on such instances of treachery, inhumanity, cruelty, revenge, bigotry, as are utterly incompatible with civilized society. No steady rule of right seems there to be attended to; and every action is blamed or praised, so far only as it is beneficial or hurtful to the true believers.”
Peace of Augsburg
The most powerful man in the Western World was Charles V of Spain. Being the Catholic Holy Roman Emperor, he exercised control over most of Europe, as well as areas in the Americas and the Philippines. Charles V was faced with a double dilemma:
Protestant Reformation on one hand
Muslim invasion on the other hand

As the Turks rapidly advanced up the Danube River, Charles V of Spain decided to strike a deal with the Protestants. In 1532, an initial truce was negotiated in Nuremburg. Then in 1555, Charles V negotiated the monumental Peace of Augsburg.

Eric W. Gritisch wrote in “Martin – God’s Court Jester: Luther in Retrospect” (Philadelphia: Fortress, 1983, p. 69–70): “Afraid of losing the much-needed support of the German princes for the struggle against the Turkish threat from the south, Emperor Charles V agreed to a truce between Protestant and Catholic territories. … Thus the Lutheran movement was, for the first time, officially tolerated and could enjoy a place in the political sun of the Holy Roman Empire.”

The Peace of Augsburg in 1555, which was the first treaty to recognize Protestants, contained a little Latin phrase that had enormous repercussions across Europe: “curios regio eius religio,” which meant “whose is the reign his is the religion.”
In other words, the treaty allowed each king to decide what would be believed in his kingdom if they agreed to work together to stop the Islamic invasion into Europe.

Nancy Pelosi breaks with her pro-abortion party, endorses last pro-life Democrat

WASHINGTON, D.C., March 2, 2018 (LifeSiteNews) – Radically pro-abortion U.S. House Minority Leader Rep. Nancy Pelosi, D-CA, said she supports the last pro-life Democrat in Congress as he runs for re-election.
“Yes, I do” support pro-life Rep. Dan Lipinski, D-IL, Pelosi said.
Pelosi, a Catholic, is one of the most vocal abortion supporters in Congress. She routinely touts her pro-abortion, pro-LGBT views as consistent with Catholicism. She supports giving tax dollars to abortion giant Planned Parenthood and recently appeared as a guest judge on a drag queen reality show.
Both of Lipinski’s fellow Illinois representatives, Jan Schakowsky and Luís Gutierrez, have, along with progressive and pro-abortion lobby groups, endorsed pro-abortion Marie Newman as she tries to unseat him.
Even though Lipinski skipped his scheduled 2018 March for Life appearance and voted in favor of taxpayer-funded military “sex change” operations, he continues to vote against abortion and therefore elicit his party’s wrath.
But Pelosi and Vermont’s Sen. Bernie Sanders have surprisingly been on the forefront of defending the notion that Democrats needn’t be required to be completely pro-abortion.
Last year, Sanders defended campaigning for a Democrat who had previously voted in favor of a mildly pro-life law.
“Of course” one can be a Democrat and be pro-life, Pelosi said as the party fought internally and publicly about whether to permit pro-life candidates.
DNC President Tom Perez has said, “Every Democrat, like every American, should support a woman’s right to make her own choices about her body and her health. That is not negotiable and should not change city by city or state by state.”
“I have served many years in Congress with members who have not shared my very positive, my family would say ‘aggressive,’ position on promoting a woman’s right to choose,” Pelosi told NBC’s Chuck Todd. Democrats’ “values unify us. We are unified with our commitment to America’s working families about job creation, about budget policies that invest in the future, good-paying jobs.”
EMILY’s List, NARAL Pro-Choice America, MoveOn.org, the LGBT lobby group the Human Rights Campaign, Gloria Steinem, and Planned Parenthood have all endorsed Newman. The Democratic party has not endorsed Lipinski.

GOP Tariff Scolds Are Rejecting Reagan’s Steel Protection Legacy
by JOHN CARNEY

reagan trump

Capitol Hill Republicans went into an emotional meltdown after President Trump announced plans to impose tariffs on imported steel and aluminum.

“Let’s be clear: The President is proposing a massive tax increase on American families. Protectionism is weak, not strong. You’d expect a policy this bad from a leftist administration, not a supposedly Republican one,” Sen. Ben Sasse said, according to NBC News.
But Sasse and other Republicans pouncing on the White House because of the tariffs are engaging in a bit of historic revisionism. Far from being a deviation from Republican orthodoxy, Trump’s tariffs have very clear precedents in the administrations of Ronald Reagan and George W. Bush.
President Reagan ordered measures in 1984 that the White House said would reduce steel imports and help the American steel industry. These were called “voluntary restraint agreements” with trading partners, but they were only voluntary in name. The administration said it would block access to the American market for any country that refused to agree to the voluntary restraint.
And the goal was exactly the same as Trump’s: reduce imports of steel.
“The White House expects, it said, that the agreements to be negotiated will hold foreign steel to 18 1/2 percent of the American market. So far this year imports have averaged about 25 percent of the market. In July they surged to 33 percent,” the New York Times reported.
A few years later, Reagan went much further, imposing a 100 percent tariff on some Japanese-made computers, televisions, and power tools.
The Bush administration imposed steel tariffs in 2002, keeping them in place for 21 months despite howls of protests and threats of retaliation. Yet far from initiating a trade war, the Bush tariffs were followed by years of broadening trade liberalization.
Of course, dire warnings of an impending trade war are nothing new. When Reagan imposed his 100 percent tariffs, free-traders warned that it could backfire.
The New York Times reports:
Clayton K. Yeutter, the United States trade representative, said, ”Japan has far too much at stake in this relationship to seriously entertain thoughts of retaliation,” and Japanese officials ruled out any immediate retaliation. But Robert Crandall, a trade specialist at the Brookings Institution in Washington, said ”a shot across their bow can often result in a shot in our stern.”
George H.W. Bush was far more of a doctrinaire free-trader than his predecessor or his son. Voters rejected his bid for a second term amid an economic slump.
Republicans claiming that trade barriers are an anathema to the Party’s doctrine have to contend with the history of what two out of three GOP presidents–the two that got re-elected–have done.

Report: Russia Used Social Media to Disrupt U.S. Energy Markets by Promoting Pipeline Protests, Climate Change Debate

by PENNY STARR

Andrew Caballero-Reynolds/AFP/Getty Images

The House Committee on Science Space and Technology released a report on Thursday detailing how Russia has been using social media platforms to disrupt domestic energy markets and influence domestic energy policies.

The 21-page report includes Russian posts on Twitter, Facebook, and Instagram, some with photographs and slogans.
“The committee began investigating Russian attempts to influence U.S. energy markets in the summer of 2017 when Chairman [Lamar] Smith wrote [to] the Secretary of Treasury regarding Russia’s intricate money-laundering scheme. Russian-sponsored agents funneled money to U.S. environmental organizations in an attempt to portray energy companies in a negative way and disrupt domestic energy markets,” the report states.
“Upon discovering that Russia may have exploited American social media platforms to accomplish its disruptive objectives, the committee broadened the scope of its investigation,” the report outlines. “On September 26, 2017, the Committee requested data from Facebook and Twitter as part of this expanded investigation.”
The documents social media companies provided to the committee confirm Russia’s influence peddling, according to the report.
The report also includes an article posted on the Buzzfeed News website that revealed how the Russians used Instagram to influence Native Americans on oil and gas pipelines, including the Dakota Access Pipeline, the site of Native American protests.
Smith requested more information about Russian actvity from social media companies last October, according to the report.
“The committee received and reviewed the companies’ produced documents for evidence of Russian influence,” the report states. “Twitter, Facebook, and Instagram were able to identify Russian accounts linked to the Internet Research Agency (IRA), a Russian company based in Saint Petersburg established by the Russian government for the purpose of deceptively using various social and traditional media platforms to advance Russian propaganda.”
“The information received from Twitter, Facebook, and Instagram shows that Russian agents indeed sought to disrupt U.S. energy markets and influence domestic energy policy by exploiting American social media platforms,” the report states.
Some of the key findings of the report include:
•  Between 2015 and 2017, there were an estimated 9,097 Russian posts or tweets regarding U.S. energy policy or a current energy event on Twitter, Facebook, and Instagram.
  • Between 2015 and 2017, there were an estimated 4,334 IRA accounts across Twitter, Facebook, and Instagram.
  • According to information provided by Twitter, more than four percent of all IRA tweets were related to energy or environmental issues, a significant portion of content when compared to the eight percent of IRA tweets that were related to the election in the U.S.
  • The IRA targeted pipelines, fossil fuels, climate change, and other divisive issues to influence public policy in the U.S.
The report also reveals that Russia wants to disrupt the cutting edge technology that has resulted in an American domestic energy renaissance, including horizontal drilling and hydraulic fracturing or fracking.
“Horizontal drilling and hydraulic fracturing as a means for producing oil and natural gas began in the early 2000s,” the report states. “At that time, there were “approximately 26,000 hydraulically fractured wells” in the United States, which accounted for ‘less than 7%’ of all U.S. marketed natural gas. By 2011, fracking had become the primary method for oil and natural gas development in the United States.”
“Since 2014, fracked wells have ‘accounted for most of all new wells drilled and completed,’” the report states. “The number of fracked wells had climbed ‘to an estimated 300,000’ by 2015, and were responsible for approximately 67 percent of all U.S. natural gas output.”
“In January 2017, the Office of the Director of National Intelligence released a report that contained “clear evidence that the Kremlin is financing and choreographing anti-fracking propaganda in the United States,” the report states.
The report also highlights how U.S. energy exports reaching the global marketplace is a threat to Russia’s dominance in some of those markets. For example, according to the report, Poland recently signed a five-year agreement with the United States to import liquefied natural gas into the country “in an attempt to decrease dependency on Russian energy supplies.”
Climate change is also an issue the Russians are exploiting on social media, according to the report.
Numerous Russian posts focused on the ongoing debate about climate change by linking catastrophic weather events to climate change and divisively labeling one viewpoint as right and one as left,” the report states. “One post characterizes Americans as ignoring major events that are allegedly signs of climate change.
Additionally, these posts frame the conservative viewpoint regarding climate change as a ‘liberal hoax, all in an effort to generate further domestic controversy surrounding the issue of climate change.
The report concludes:
The Committee will continue its ongoing efforts to identify foreign interference in domestic energy policy, whether from Russia or any other country so that the American people can formulate their positions based on facts rather than foreign propaganda.

Anti-Trump FBI Agent Gets Some Bad News

Anti-Trump FBI Agent Gets Some Bad News
Remember Andrew McCabe, the former Deputy Director of the FBI who was forced outlast January? Well, there’s a DOJ report that’s about to be released that details how the top FBI official misled investigators and signed off on an 'improper media disclosure' that detailed the warring state of affairs between the bureau and the Department of Justice concerning the investigation into the Clinton Foundation (via WaPo):

The Justice Department inspector general is preparing a damaging report on former FBI deputy director Andrew McCabe, alleging he was responsible for approving an improper media disclosure, two people familiar with the matter said. One of the people said McCabe will also be accused of misleading investigators about his actions.

The report is a part of Inspector General Michael Horowitz’s broad review of the FBI and Justice Department’s handling of the investigation into Hillary Clinton’s use of a private email server while she was secretary of state.

During that work, inspector general’s investigators found that McCabe had authorized the disclosure of information to the Wall Street Journal for an October 2016 story that examined feuding inside the FBI and Justice Department around the handling of a separate investigation into Clinton’s family foundation, two people familiar with the case said…

Kellyanne Conway Obliterated Every Democrat With One Statement

The Democrats have spent Trump’s entire Presidency attacking him.
No matter what he has done, they have found a way to attack him.

And Kelleyanne Conway just pointed out one fact that obliterated every Democrat.

Even when President Trump has tried to extend an olive branch to the Democrats, they find a way to go after him.

White House Counselor Kellyanne Conway understands this better than almost anybody.

While speaking to Fox News Conway pointed out Democrat lawmakers are using Dreamers as a “blunt instrument” against President Trump.

Dreamers are recipients of the Deferred Action on Childhood Arrivals (DACA) program, and entered the United States illegally as children.

Dreamers are given the ability to stay in the country to pursue an education.
As pointed out by Conway, President Trump was willing to sit down at the table with Democrats and discuss how to deal with the issue.

The Democrats did sit down with President Trump, and Trump attempted to listen to them and find common ground.

In response, the Democrats did nothing but complain about how President Trump is doing nothing.

In response, Conway asked the question: “Do they care about having a blunt instrument against the president and the party or do they care about helping the Dreamers?”

As reported by The Daily Caller:
“WHITE HOUSE COUNSELOR KELLYANNE CONWAY WONDERED ON FOX NEWS TUESDAY WHETHER DEMOCRATIC LAWMAKERS WERE USING DREAMERS AS A “BLUNT INSTRUMENT” AGAINST PRESIDENT TRUMP.
“DACA IS A GREAT EXAMPLE OF THE PRESIDENT BEING OPENED UP A PEOPLE’S IDEAS AND SAYING OKAY, THAT I’M NOT GOING TO TAKE CARE OF THE 600,000. WE WILL DO ALL 1.8 MILLION. HE SAID THAT IN A BICAMERAL, BIPARTISAN MEETING IN THE CABINET ROOM. FOX NEWS COVERED THE ENTIRE HOUR. YET YOU CAN’T HAVE THE DEMOCRATS BACK TO THE TABLE. THEY WON’T COME BACK AND FIX IT.”
“THIS CONGRESS HAD ALL OF LAST YEAR TO DO IT,” SHE CONTINUED. “THE PRESIDENT GAVE THEM ANOTHER SIX MONTHS TO DO IT AND THEY HAVEN’T ACTED. YOU HAVE TO ASK WHY? DO THEY CARE ABOUT HAVING A BLUNT INSTRUMENT AGAINST THE PRESIDENT AND THE PARTY OR DO THEY CARE ABOUT HELPING THE DREAMERS?””
Conway’s question gets down to the mindset of the Trump era.
All they care about is taking down President Trump.
It doesn’t matter if the President is willing to listen to them, or even do something they agree with.
They don’t actually care about their policies being implemented.
With the 2018 midterms, and 2020 Presidential election season coming up quicker and quicker, Democrats need to have every piece of ammo if they are to bring down Republicans.
But their plans appear to be backfiring; President Trump’s approval rating is only climbing, with him reaching 50% approval in a recent poll.

A 50% approval is much higher than the approval rating former President Obama had at the same point in his presidency.
