Maria Butina, Alleged Russian Spy, Met with Obama Team Before 2016 Presidential Election
This individual supposedly had high-level meetings with senior aides to the former president and a Russian official back in 2015
Alleged Russian spy Maria Butina was involved in high-level meetings with two senior U.S. officials in the Obama administration and a Russian official before the 2016 election, according to multiple sources and a Washington, D.C., think tank, as Dailywire and other outlets reported.
The meetings — “disclosed by several people familiar” with them, noted Reuters, as well as by a report prepared by the think tank that arranged the meetings — involved Stanley Fischer, then Federal Reserve vice chairman, and Nathan Sheets, who was then the Treasury undersecretary for international affairs.
Butina reportedly came into the U.S. in April 2015 with then-Russian Central Bank Deputy Governor Alexander Torshin to participate in “separate meetings with Fischer and Sheets, to discuss U.S.- Russian economic relations during Democratic former President Barack Obama’s administration.”
The think tank involved in the meetings is the Central for the National Interest (CNI), a group that advocates for improved U.S.- Russia relations, as CBS reported.
Although Russian meddling in American politics is popular fodder for morning talk shows and grasping Democrats, the mainstream media today don’t mention much about the Obama administration and Russia.
Those two entities had a murky and tenuous relationship; long before the 2016 election, Russia was engaged in cyber-manipulation against the United States, which escalated during the 2016 presidential campaign.
In 2015 under the Obama Administration “Met with Federal Reserve vice chairman Stanley Fischer and Nathan Sheets, who was the Treasury undersecretary for international affairs” kind of ruins their whole narrative about the NRA .

“I’m very concerned that Russia will be fighting very hard to have an impact on the upcoming Election,” Trump said on Twitter Tuesday.
“Based on the fact that no President has been tougher on Russia than me, they will be pushing very hard for the Democrats. They definitely don’t want Trump!” he concluded.
Trump did not specify if he was referring to the 2018 midterm elections or the next presidential race in 2020.
“This is jamming it where the sun don’t shine into everybody in the Democrat Party and the media,” said radio talk-show host Rush Limbaugh. “They’re gonna blow gaskets. … This is politically brilliant. Privately these people on the left will have conniptions. It literally drives them crazy.”
“He’s just turning it right around on them instead of slinking away … In advance, he’s accusing them of benefiting on Russian attempts to hurt him.”
“Trump is stealing their thunder. Some might say getting in on it. … This is exactly the kind of thing I would do.”
Trump also tweeted out his slogan, saying in all capital letters: “MAKE AMERICA GREAT AGAIN!
The president also noted: “Our Country is doing GREAT. Best financial numbers on the Planet. Great to have USA WINNING AGAIN!”

Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez is the latest Democrat star du jour.She’s a self-described “democratic-socialist” (though in the past she’s complained about tax increases), and she’s spoken enough for us all to know that she’s more than a little ignorant about politics.
Sadly, she’s likely on her way to Congress because she’s running for office as a Democrat in a district that will never elect a Republican.
So, it really doesn’t matter what she says at this point… she’s probably going to Washington, D.C. (even if she starts spouting racist, sexist, and homophobic rhetoric in the middle of her next speech).
The fact that she’s likely going to be in Congress doesn’t mean we should stop pointing out just how ridiculous her ideas are. In fact, I’d argue we should hold her to an even higher standard now that we know she’s on her way to Capitol Hill.
So let’s talk about her most recent bit of foolishness, shall we?
In a recent interview on PBS, Ocasio-Cortez argued that the unemployment rate was down “because everyone has two jobs.”
Here’s the full context:
I think the numbers that you just talked about is part of the problem, right?
Because we look at these figures, and we say, ‘Oh, unemployment is low. Everything is fine,’ right?
Well, unemployment is low because everyone has two jobs.
Unemployment is low because people are working 60, 70, 80 hours a week and can barely feed their kids.
And so, I do think that, right now, when we have this no-holds-barred, Wild West hypercapitalism, what that means is profit at any cost.
Capitalism has not always existed in the world, and it will not always exist in the world.
When this country started, we were not a capitalist — we did not operate on a capitalist economy.
Um.
I’ll let the folks at Reason explain to you why Ocasio-Cortez seems to be speaking out of her butt on this.
This is wrong for two reasons. First, people working multiple jobs has no distorting effect on the unemployment rate, which is calculated by taking the number of unemployed people and dividing it by the number of people in the labor force. The raw number of jobs being worked by Americans has no bearing on these numbers.
Second, everyone does not have two jobs. As Bloomberg View‘s Noah Smith points out, only about 5 percent of workers are moonlighting. This rate has actually dropped slightly over the last three decades.
Ocasio-Cortez then argued that people working a ton of overtime was skewing the unemployment numbers. The only problem? Overtime hours have nothing to do with unemployment numbers.
Finally, the foolish Democratic-socialist tries to argue that capitalism has made things worse in the world. The only problem here? By EVERY SINGLE POSSIBLE MEASURE the world has become a wealthier, healthier, safer, and better place over the last century due almost exclusively to… CAPITALISM. (Capitalism is even stopping war!)

Ocasio-Cortez blames profit-seeking “no-holds-barred capitalism” for the conditions in which people struggle to feed their kids. Hunger and poverty are indeed problems faced by millions of Americans—14 percent of U.S. households experience food insecurity. Under capitalism, though, world poverty has declined precipitously. Over the past few decades, the economic growth that global trade has brought to developing economies has helped lift a billion people out of poverty. Between 2001 and 2011, some 700 million people exited from extreme poverty worldwide.
“Capitalism has not always existed in the world and it will not always exist in the world,” said Ocasio-Cortez. But the scale of human suffering was inarguably greater in the era before capitalism, and would be again in any post-market era, if socialism’s failure rate is any indication.
Even honest leftist thinkers, like the great Steven Pinker, can’t understand how socialists ignore the fact that capitalism has been the greatest force for good the world has seen in the last half century.
In fact, thanks in large part to capitalism the entire world is getting better every single day.
It would not be unreasonable to admit that Donald Trump has had a rough go of it as President, and we only have the ridiculous “resistance” to thank for that.
From the very onset of this populist adventure, the liberal left has been doing everything within their power to disparage and dissent against The Donald, regardless of what policies or actions are being engaged in. It is a simple case of Donald Trump not being Hillary Clinton, and this has greatly upset the democrats and the young minds that they have been working so hard to mold.
Now, even despite this ridiculous rhetoric and its lasting effects on the psyches of the millennial miscreants at the center of the liberal vote-gathering strategy, Americans still love Donald Trump.
President Donald Trump has hit his highest ever approval rating at 41.9 percent between April and June, according to the latest Gallup poll.
The new-all time personal best displays President Trump’s approval rating rose over two-percent from the previous quarter’s 39.1 percent average and beat his first three-month average of 41.3 percent.
Gallup says President Trump’s approval rating maintained at least a 40 percent average between April 20 and July 19, hitting 45 percent in the same week as the historic June 12 summit with North Korean dictator Kim Jong-un on Singapore’s Sentosa Island.
Intense criticism from both Republicans and Democrats over President Trump dismissal of Russian election meddling during the 2016 election in a joint press conference with President Vladimir Putin failed to impact Mr. Trump’s 42 percent approval rating between July 16-22.
This incredible reality is surely causing steam to blow from the ears of women such as Nancy Pelosi, whose resistance schtick has gotten so out of hand that she can no longer even say the word “Constitution” without suffering from unnerving face spasms.

The World War II veteran told the story of losing his brother in World War II fighting.
Then Allen turned to President Trump and made a request. Allen asked the US president if he could bring his family to the Oval Office next April when he turns 95.
President Trump said yes and gave Allen a hug.
This was an amazing American moment.

A federal court on Monday released the names of five witnesses who have been granted immunity in the special counsel’s case against former Trump campaign chairman Paul Manafort.
A federal court on Monday released the names of five witnesses who have been granted immunity in the special counsel’s case against former Trump campaign chairman Paul Manafort.The witnesses were identified as Dennis Raico, Cindy Laporta, Conor O’Brien, Donna Duggan and James Brennan.
District Court Judge T.S. Ellis III, a judge in Virginia, ordered Special Counsel Robert Mueller’s prosecutors to identify the five witnesses along with around 30 others that the government plans to call at Manafort’s trial, which is slated to start with jury selection on Wednesday, according to Politico.
Ellis issued the order during a hearing in which Manafort’s attorneys requested to delay the trial’s start date. The trial was scheduled to start on Wednesday but Ellis delayed it until July 31.
Manafort faces money laundering and tax evasion charges related to his work for a Ukrainian political party that supported Ukrainian President Vladimir Yanukovych. Manafort was paid millions of dollars for the work, which ended in 2014.
The longtime GOP operative joined the Trump campaign in April 2016.
Manafort is also scheduled to go to trial in federal court in Washington, D.C., in September on charges related to his Ukraine work. Mueller has come under scrutiny during the case because it appears to have little to do with Manafort’s work on the Trump campaign.
Mueller has also informed Ellis that during the trial, prosecutors have no plans to introduce evidence of any collusion between the Trump campaign and Russian government.
Manafort’s lawyers have unsuccessfully argued that the special counsel should not have been handling the case because Mueller was appointed to investigate collusion and Russian meddling in the 2016 presidential election.
Mueller’s team has noted that Mueller’s mandate, which was signed by Deputy Attorney General Rod Rosenstein, grants him the authority to prosecute any crimes that were discovered during the course of the collusion investigation.
The revelation last week that Mueller sought immunity for the five witnesses touched off widespread speculation about their identities. Manafort worked closely on his Ukraine work with lawyers for the firm Skadden Arps as well as with two lobbying groups, Mercury Public Affairs and the Podesta Group.
Fox News’ Tucker Carlson reported on Thursday that one of the immunized witnesses is Podesta Group chairman Tony Podesta, a Democratic super-lobbyist with longstanding ties to the Clintons.
Podesta’s brother, John Podesta, was the chairman of Hillary Clinton’s 2016 presidential campaign.
It is unclear from Carlson’s report whether he was referring to immunity offered in the Virginia or Washington, D.C. case.
The special counsel’s office said it was offering immunity to the witnesses because they planned to invoke their Fifth Amendment rights against self-incrimination.

The Greatest Hysteria in American History

You and I are living through the greatest mass hysteria in American history. For many Americans, the McCarthy era held that dubious distinction, but what is happening now is incomparably worse.
For one thing, any hysteria that existed then was directed against the greatest evil in the world at the time: communism. Then-Sen. Joseph McCarthy and the House Un-American Activities Committee notwithstanding, there really were Americans in important positions who supported communist regimes enslaving their populations and committing mass murder. McCarthy was on to something.
In contrast, the country is choking on hysteria over the extremely unlikely possibility — for which there is still no evidence — that Donald Trump’s campaign colluded with the Russian government to meddle in the 2016 presidential election, and the absurdity that President Trump works for Russian President Vladimir Putin.
For another, the mainstream media did not support McCarthy. Most in the media were highly critical of McCarthy. Today, the mainstream media are not the voices of caution. They are the creators of the hysteria. There have been conspiracy theories throughout American history (e.g. Lee Harvey Oswald didn’t kill President John F. Kennedy alone; the moon landing never happened). But this is the first time the media have created and promoted a conspiracy. Not surprisingly, they have dropped any pretense of objective reporting in the process.
And while some Americans were unfairly labeled communists during the McCarthy era, countless Democratic politicians and leaders in news and entertainment have called members of the Trump administration and the tens of millions of Americans who support the president fascists, white supremacists, haters, xenophobes, and even Nazis.
MSNBC contributor Jill Wine-Banks said of the Trump-Putin Helsinki press conference: “It’s just as serious to me as the Cuban Missile Crisis in terms of an attack, or the 9/11 attack. … [Trump’s] performance today will live in infamy as much as the Pearl Harbor attack or Kristallnacht.”
Former communist, Obama operative, and CIA Director John Brennan tweeted: “Donald Trump’s press conference performance in Helsinki rises to & exceeds the threshold of ‘high crimes & misdemeanors.’ It was nothing short of treasonous.”
The constant invoking of the Holocaust, the Nazis, and now Kristallnacht (the unofficial beginning of the Holocaust, a night in 1938 when German Jews were beaten to death, synagogues were burned, and Jewish shops were destroyed) only minimizes the evils of Nazism and the Holocaust. A young American who, having gone to a typical university, probably knows nothing about the Nazis and the Holocaust will now think Nazism and the Holocaust were 20th-century expressions of Trump and American conservatism.
All this hysteria is built on next to nothing. At its core, it is an attempt to undo the 2016 election. The mainstream media refuse to accept that Hillary Clinton lost. They said she would win — handily. They predicted a landslide. How could they have possibly gotten it so wrong? Their answer is they didn’t; Trump and Putin stole it.
If truth mattered to the media, their ongoing narrative would be: “Democrats and the Left still do not accept Trump victory.”
If truth mattered to the media, every American would know Trump has been harder on Russia than former President Barack Obama was. Every American would be reminded that Obama reassured Putin’s right-hand man, then-Russian President Dmitri Medvedev, that he wouldn’t be too tough on Russia. Thinking his mic was off, he whispered into Medvedev’s ear: “This is my last election. After my election, I have more flexibility.”
If truth mattered to the media, every American would be reminded that Obama sent Army meals to Ukraine and Trump has sent anti-tank missiles and other arms to repel the Russians.
If truth mattered to the media, every American would be reminded that Obama watched Syria burn and Russia come to dominate that country, while Trump has bombed Syrian military installations, including one where Russians were killed.
If truth mattered to the media, every American would be reminded that it is Trump who has weakened Russia’s ally Iran, while Obama immeasurably strengthened it.
Instead the media scream “treason,” “impeachment,” and the like 24/7; Hollywood stars curse the president; others curse his daughter or the first lady (one of the most regal in American history) and show President Trump in various death poses. Meanwhile, leftist mobs shout at administration officials and Republican members of Congress while they eat in restaurants, shop in stores, and sleep in their homes.
If you vote Democrat this November, you are voting for hysteria, lies, socialism, and even the cheapening of the Holocaust.
But more than anything, a vote for Democrats in November is a vote for hysteria — the greatest and darkest in American history.

Some 13.5 percent of the U.S. population -- 44 million -- is foreign born, the highest level ever, and many are not proficient in English, choosing to speak Spanish at home instead.
A report from the Migration Policy Institute found that 22 percent of the U.S. population does not speak English at home.
The share was highest in Nevada at 31 percent and Florida at 29 percent.
The report revealed a new trend in migration to the U.S where immigrants are dispersed throughout the nation instead of clustering in a few states and cities.
For example, while the number of immigrants in the last eight years increased 9 percent, the foreign born population surged 15 percent or more in 15 states. The report said those states are: North Dakota, West Virginia, South Dakota, Delaware, Nebraska, Minnesota, Wyoming, Pennsylvania, Alaska, Indiana, Florida, Nevada, Washington, Iowa, and Maryland.
“Approximately nine million immigrants, or one in every five, reside in these 15 states.” said the report.
Mexicans and Cubans dominated the influx, followed by those from India and China.
Legal immigrants with green cards in the top 15 states were slightly outnumbered by illegal alien. From the report:
More than 1.6 million foreign nationals in the top 15 states obtained lawful permanent residence (LPR status, also known as getting a green card) between fiscal year (FY) 2010 and 2016. They accounted for 22 percent of the 7.4 million immigrants who received green cards during the same period nationwide.
The 15 states were home to about 1.7 million unauthorized immigrants in the 2010-14 period, or about 15 percent of the 11 million unauthorized population in the United States.
