A TRUE HERO --- JIMY RICE
David John McCoy
The date was August 8, 1982. The Red Sox were playing an afternoon game at Boston's Fenway Park. Suddenly a screaming foul ball whizzed past the first base dugout and Red Sox left fielder Jim Rice heard the unmistakable sound of ball striking flesh. Looking around the corner of the dugout into the stands Rice saw 4 year old Jonathan Keane bleeding profusely from his head. Realizing in a split second that it would take several minutes for park EMT's to get to the scene, the future Hall of Famer sprang into action. Rice leaped over the railing into the stands, cradled the young fan into his arms and carried the boy into the dugout where he received immediate attention from the team's medical staff. Within just a few minutes Jonathan was rushed to the hospital where doctors credited Rice with saving the boys life. Jim Rice played the rest of the game in a blood stained uniform, a true badge of courage.

(*** Postscript: Jonathan is 41 years old now and has no memory of the incident. His only reminder is a small scar above his right eye).

Ocasio-Cortez’s Previously Undisclosed Ties To George Soros Revealed
The Daily Caller News Foundation by Kyle Pirisic
New details have emerged revealing that George Soros helped prop-up democratic socialist Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez’s political career in an attempt to put 400 Bernie Sanders-like politicians in Congress.
A former organizer for Bernie Sanders’s presidential campaign, Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez’s under-dog win in the democratic primary was undoubtedly helped by far-left organizations linked George Soros — specifically, online media which played a crucial role in her campaign.
Members linked to Soros-funded digital media asked Ocasio-Cortez to run for office which guaranteed she would get favorable coverage by a media network that reaches almost 300 million people monthly.
One member of the Soros-funded media, Cenk Uygur, also founded one of the two political groups responsible for asking Ocasio-Cortez to run, Justice Democrats — whose goal is to get Sanders-like politicians elected to Congress.
Uygur, a former Armenian genocide denier, was eventually forced out of the organization after old articles revealed some of his previous sexist comments, often referring to women in a derogatory way.
Incumbent Joseph Crowley — whose footprint in the Democratic establishment led to speculation that he would succeed Nancy Pelosi as Democratic leader of the House — greatly outspent Ocasio-Cortez.
However, her strong online presence — thanks to the coverage of the Soros-linked digital media — she was able to gain traction and defeat Crowley in the primary June 26. She is expected to win New York’s 14th congressional district handedly, given the district’s Democratic history.
After Ocasio-Cortez’s website, Ocasio2018.com, was first registered May 3, 2017, it redirected to Ocasio-Cortez’s now-deleted page on BrandNewCongress.Org, according to an Internet archive captured June 29, 2017.
Brand New Congress is another organization, just like Justice Democrats, that aims to get socialists elected to Congress in the 2018 mid-terms. It has close ties to Justice Democrats.
In a June 27 interview with Uygur on his YouTube channel “The Young Turks,” Ocasio-Cortez thanked Uygur and other media platforms for covering her before the primaries, which she says “in no small part” helped her win.
“I wouldn’t be running if it wasn’t for the support of Justice Democrats and Brand New Congress,” Ocasio-Cortez told Uygur. “In fact it was, it was JD (Justice Democrats) and it was Brand New Congress that asked me to run in the first place.”
The Young Turks is a member of The Media Consortium — a network of far left media publications which includes Mother Jones, Democracy Now!, and dozens of other outlets, funded by Soros.
The Media Consortium is a Soros a media empire that, according to Media Research Center (MRC), reaches nearly 300 million people a month.
“Soros funds nearly every major left-wing media source in the United States,” MRC stated. “Forty-five of those are financed through his support of the Media Consortium. That organization ‘is a network of the country’s leading, progressive, independent media outlets.’ The list is predictable – everything from Alternet to the Young Turks.”
The MRC report goes on to detail the progressive echo chamber Soros intentionally created with the Media Consortium with the intention of shaping public opinion.
Editorial: Liz Warren keeps playing blame game

The United States is a terrible place. At least that appeared to be the theme of Sen. Elizabeth Warren’s ominous chat at a historically black college on Friday. Warren was part of a Q&A session hosted by Congressional Black Caucus Chairman Cedric Richmond at Dillard University in New Orleans. “Let’s just start with the hard truth about our criminal justice system,” she railed. “It’s racist. It is. And when I say our system, I mean all the way. I mean front to back. This is not just sentencing reform we’re talking about here. We’re talking about the front end on what you declare to be illegal on how you enforce it, on who gets arrested.”
Front to back. That means law enforcement, the court system, and corrections. All of it is racist according to Warren.
This comes on the heels of Sen. Warren’s call to abolish ICE a little more than a month ago. Then, like Friday, her rhetoric would reach the media’s standards of a “dark” speech if they used that barometer on anyone else but President Trump.
“President Trump seems to think that the only way to have immigration rule is to rip parents from their family, is to treat rape victims and refugees like terrorists and to put children in cages,” she said on City Hall Plaza in June. “This is ugly and this is wrong and this is not the way to run our country.”
Now she is all in on the criminal justice system of the dastardly United States. “They shackle pregnant women. What kind of a country does this to people?” she asked Friday.
“Our prison system is something that America should be ashamed of. What we do to other human beings is fundamentally wrong.”
In fact, according to Sen. Warren, we’re on the brink of destruction. “Democracy has its back against the wall,” she warned, “The dark money. The rich and the powerful. The folks who think they can hold our country by the throat. The folks who think that we are here just to continue to produce more and more profits for them.”
And the Supreme Court is in on the whole thing, apparently. “We’ve got a Supreme Court nominee ... who came from a prescreened list. A list prescreened by not one but two right-wing extremist groups.”
On the other court appointments, host Cedric Richmond added, “They are overt racists and bigots.”
Is there any hard-working American who Elizabeth Warren has not condemned? Starting with business owners, “You didn’t build that,” to everyone involved in the criminal justice system at every level, “racist,” she almost always defaults to excoriating group A for the failures of group B rather than coming up with practical solutions.

“If you want a government where we believe in the great American family, we believe in what we can do together, then you vote Democratic,” she declared.
If there was a message of hope for the “great American family” we must have missed it. In fact, the great American family is under assault, front to back, by Warren and the Democrats.
Candace Owens tells you everything you need to know about playing the black card
Frieda Powers
An exclusive card more valuable than any from Visa or American Express?
These cardholders are a very specific group of people, defined by the color of their skin, says Candace Owens, Communications Director for Turning Point USA.
These cardholders are a very specific group of people, defined by the color of their skin, says Candace Owens, Communications Director for Turning Point USA.
“You’ve heard about the black card, right?” Owens began in a video for Prager University.
“No—not the one from Visa or American Express. This one is much more valuable.” she said. “You should know that there is only one way you can get your hands on it: you have to be born with black skin.”
She reiterated that this was the only requirement for cardholders.
“You can be poor, middle class, or rich—it doesn’t matter. The black card will still confer upon you an entire history of oppression, even if you’ve never been oppressed,” Owens said in the five-minute video.
“Flash the black card, and most white people will cower,” she added. “Play the black card expertly, and you can win awards, make millions—all the while claiming that the people who got you there somehow hate you.”
The conservative commentator, who shredded Hillary Clinton as a “racist” on Twitter over the weekend, has no fear calling things as she sees them. Her bold tweets got her Twitter account suspended – and then reinstated, with an apology from the company for their “error.”

Owens called out other examples of playing the black card in her scathing commentary as she slammed those who have been using their race as an excuse.
Owens pointed to her grandparents as those who “have the most legitimate claim to the black card” but refused to use it.
“If they had problems, they didn’t blame anybody. They just fixed them,” she said of her grandparents. “And they raised me to do the same.”
“I was a first-generation college student. This was supposed to be the ticket to prosperity. But it wasn’t. I left college with a mountain of debt and no practical skills. I had just $80 dollars in my bank account and very few prospects,” the 29-year-old ssaid. “I could have given up. I could have dug deep into my history and declared myself a natural product of ancestral oppression. I could have played the black card and absolved myself of all responsibility for my own stupid decisions.” But Owens said she didn’t do it because “it would have destroyed my grandfather’s legacy.”
“My attitude comes with a price, however. Because if you are born black and you don’t accept your natural status as a victim, then the validity of your blackness is immediately called into question,” she explained.
The rising young conservative star, whom actor James Woods thinks should be running for office, offered a fitting conclusion: “Well, so be it.”
75% of LeBron James’ ‘Charity School’ Paid by Taxpayers
By Matt
In what’s got to be the most random Trump feud I can imagine, the President sent out a mocking tweet directed at basketball player LeBron James.
75% of LeBron James’ ‘Charity School’ Paid by Taxpayers
By Matt
It seemed out of place, because of all Trump’s tweets directed at Lebron in the past were favorable:
The criticism was seemingly unprovoked but probably had to do with the contents of that CNN interview. “He’s dividing us,” James said to Lemon, of Donald Trump. “And what I’ve noticed over the past few months [is] he’s kind of used sport to kind of divide us, and that’s something that I can’t relate to, because I know that sport was the first time I ever was around someone white, and I got an opportunity to see them and learn about them, and they got an opportunity to learn about me, and we became very good friends.”
James responded to Trump’s criticism without mentioning Trump, and instead decided to use the opportunity to draw attention to a charitable project he’s working on, his new “Promise School” in Akron. The elementary school would provide the following to students (nearly all of whom are from disadvantaged backgrounds):
-
Free tuition
-
Free uniforms
-
Free breakfast, lunch and snacks
-
Free transportation within 2 miles
-
A free bicycle and helmet
-
Access to a food pantry for their family
-
Guaranteed tuition for all graduates to the University of Akron
An endeavor worth celebrating, no doubt. But it needs a disclaimer: that it’s not entirely funded by LeBron, which is an impression that most (myself included) had.
According to Cleveland.com, “it’s [LeBron’s school] also a public school within the Akron school district, which means that taxpayers will pay for the bulk of the costs.
The exact breakdown of expenses for the new I Promise School is unclear, since the district and the LeBron James Family Foundation are still sorting out final details of their contract. But the district will pay more than half the costs – perhaps around 75 percent – once it is fully running.”
LeBron’s foundation is spending $2 million towards the school’s first year, and an additional $2 million a year after the school has grown to capacity. As you can glean from the “75%” stat above, the school is estimated to cost $8 million to operate each year. The school is owned by the local district, which is in charge of hiring teachers and administrators.
Follow this story to get email or text alerts from The Political Insider when there is a future article following this storyline.
While we can only commend LeBron for his charitable efforts, the media is far overstating his role in this project. The school isn’t “LeBron’s school,” – it’s a school branded and partially funded by him. And on that note, let’s give the American taxpayer some recognition too!
Trump Backs John James in Michigan GOP Primary
By Todd Beamon
President Donald Trump on Friday endorsed Detroit business owner and Iraqi War veteran John James in next month's Michigan Republican primary in the quest to defeat Democratic U.S. Sen. Debbie Stabenow in November.
"Rarely have I seen a candidate with such great potential," Trump said of the West Point graduate on Twitter. "He will be a star."
James, a former U.S. Army pilot, is leading investment banker Sandy Pensler in the NBC News-Marist Poll released Thursday leading up to the Aug. 7 Republican primary.
James is 7 points ahead of Pensler, 30 percent to 23 percent, though local polls show the race in a dead heat.
However, Stabenow leads James, 55 percent to 37 percent among registered voters, in the Marist survey.
National security adviser John Bolton endorsed James in March — and he is backed by the American Conservative Union and the Senate Conservatives Fund.
