Donald Trump Praises Citizen Rescue Efforts: ‘We Love the Cajun Navy’

President Donald Trump celebrated the “Cajun Navy,” a group of citizen volunteers who traveled to rescue citizens from the wrath of Hurricane Florence.
“We love the Cajun Navy – THANK YOU!” Trump wrote on Twitter on Friday, sharing a video of the group.
The Cajun Navy was formed after Hurricane Katrina hit Louisiana in 2005. They also rescued hundreds of victims in the 2017 hurricane season in Texas during Hurricane Harvey. About 1,000 volunteers traveled up to the Carolinas to help with victims of Hurricane Florence.

Many volunteers of the Cajun Navy participated in the rescue of hundreds of citizens who were caught by rising tides in New Bern, North Carolina.
Todd Terrell, founder and president of the United Cajun Navy, spoke to National Public Radio on Friday about their efforts.
He said that the sudden storm surge surprised many North Carolina citizens.
“It’s people helping people,” he said shortly, about the volunteers who joined his organization.
God bless the civilian samaritans of the Cajun Navy - men and women from my beloved Louisiana - they are being credited, by local official, with making rescues overnight in North Carolina #HurricaneFlorence

Poll: Pope's Popularity Plummeting Among Americans

A new CNN poll shows Pope Francis’ popularity has plummeted among Americans.

Francis has been at the center of the firestorm engulfing the Catholic Church in recent weeks as charges of a cover-up of rampant sexual abuse have been leveled at the Vatican.

In the CNN poll, only 48% of Americans had a favorable view of the Pope. That figure was roughly 66% in January 2017 and 72% in December 2013, a few months after he was elected Pope.

Among American Catholics, Francis’ approval rating dropped from 83% eighteen months ago to 63% now. During the same period, his approval rate among Americans 45 and older dropped from 68% to 44%; among women, 71% to 51%; among men, 60% to 45%; among Democrats, 79% to 57%, and among Republicans, 54% to 36%.

Interestingly, Trump supporters’ approval rating of Francis was 34%; Americans who dislike Trump were much more favorable toward Francis, at 57%. Additionally, it would seem higher education made people favor Francis more strenuously; only 44% of non-college graduates approved of Francis, while 57% of college graduates approved.

Red Sox Manager Calls Trump ‘Disrespectful,’ But Then Says ‘Thank You For Helping Us’

He said he hates talking politics. He said he hates when people make Hurricane Maria and how it impacted Puerto Rico “political.”
Despite this, when Boston Red Sox manager Alex Cora was asked about it in relation to a tweet by President Donald Trump, he “went there.” He willingly engaged in it being made “political.”
According to ESPN, Cora’s response was, “To be tweeting about 3,000 people … it’s actually disrespectful for my country. We see it that way. I know probably he doesn’t feel that way.”
He added, “And like I said: Hey, man, thank you for helping us. He went down there, he did what he did.”
Cora, who is originally from Caguas, Puerto Rico, was commenting on the tweet from Trump that disputed a high reported death toll in Puerto Rico from Hurricane Maria.
The Hill notes that early reported death toll numbers were under 100.
But a study by George Washington University researchers, commissioned by the Puerto Rican government, claims the number is much closer to 3,000. Trump was responding to the massive difference between the two numbers. Bear in mind, Puerto Rico has a democratic party government, too:
3000 people did not die in the two hurricanes that hit Puerto Rico. When I left the Island, AFTER the storm had hit, they had anywhere from 6 to 18 deaths. As time went by it did not go up by much. Then, a long time later, they started to report really large numbers, like 3000...

.....This was done by the Democrats in order to make me look as bad as possible when I was successfully raising Billions of Dollars to help rebuild Puerto Rico. If a person died for any reason, like old age, just add them onto the list. Bad politics. I love Puerto Rico!
So how could there suddenly be around 3,000 deaths from Hurricane Maria? USA Today described how the researchers came to their conclusion:
“Researchers spent six months poring (sic) over death certificates, speaking to funeral home directors and interviewing doctors to arrive at a death toll of nearly 3,000 people as result of Hurricane Maria’s devastation to Puerto Rico.”
When the researchers were first approached about doing the study, “the official toll was still 64 – a low number that would remain the official count for months.”
The Hill reported something else about the study, noting that the team looked at “typical mortality rates from 2010 to 2017, then compared that figure to the number of deaths in the six months after Maria.” So, the new, higher number was not the immediate death toll directly caused by Hurricane Maria.
It also included deaths they attributed to Maria’s impact. “Overall, we estimate that 40 percent of municipalities experienced significantly higher mortality in the study period than in the comparable period of the previous two years,” according to the report
Some, particularly on social media, have noted that Trump is not only being blamed for the deaths, but attacked for his comment on the new number. They point to what they believe are the actual contributions of the Puerto Rican government to that new number:
Senate Minority Leader Schumer: "This is an offensive, hurtful and blatantly false comment from the president. Nearly 3,000 of our fellow citizens died in Puerto Rico following Hurricane Maria. That is the complete opposite of ‘success.’”

Didn't the corrupt narcissist mayor hide half the supplies & refuse to deliver others, despite her citizens dying, and we sent armed forces to address that? Also didn't Houston, which did not have those issues, recover well? 🤔- https://www.cbsnews.com/news/puerto-rico-mayor-two-others-arrested-on-corruption-charges/ …

Heartbreaker ~~~ CNN Ratings Down 41 Percent from Last Year

Last week, CNN dropped a full 41 percent in the daytime TV ratings and fell 36 percent in primetime compared to the same week last year.

AdWeek reports, “CNN ranked No. 6 across basic cable in total prime time viewers, and No. 5 in total day this past week. Despite the top 10 finishes, the network was -36 percent in prime time viewers, and -41 percent in total day viewers vs. the same week last year.”
Not only did CNN see a devastating drop from last year’s ratings, the network was once again bested by its competitors. Fox News came in first place with during the day, while MSNBC came in second.
In basic cable, CNN was in fifth behind ESPN and Nickelodeon. During prime time, CNN slid down to sixth place while ESPN came in first. Fox News, MSNBC, HGTV, and the USA network all defeated CNN.
The network has repeatedly seen embarrassing viewership losses compared to 2017. In August, the network lost 12 percent of its primetime viewers compared to 2017.
During one week in August, the network dropped 23 percent during the day and 24 percent in primetime compared to the same week last year.
The ratings slide isn’t the only recent embarrassment for CNN.
This week, it was announced that reporter Jim Sciutto would begin co-hosting a morning program for the network, despite the fact that Sciutto had recently made serious errors and was a key figure in CNN’s ongoing fake news scandal over their misreporting of a story about Michael Cohen’s knowledge of a Trump Tower meeting with Russians.
Jeffrey Toobin, an analyst for CNN, also humiliated the network further recently by falsely blaming Antifa violence on black Americans.

Bombshell: Corrupt ex-FBI lawyer Lisa Page interned under Clinton by Jerry McCormick

The Strzok-Page texts keep delivering bombshells.
A newly published text, obtained by Fox News, reveals that Lisa Page, who served on Special Counsel Robert Mueller’s team, once interned for the Clinton administration.
“Get inspired and depressing reading that article about how Obama approached the mail room. Needless to say, it was very different when I interned there under Clinton,” Page wrote to then-FBI agent Peter Strzok. The text was dated Jan. 19, 2017, which was Obama’s final day in office.

Damning Texts

The more we learn about the texts between Page and Strzok, the more we can see how politically motivated these investigations really are.
Another newly revealed text from Strzok to Page read: “Think our sisters have begun leaking like mad. Scorned and worried, and political, they’re kicking into overdrive.” Who “our sisters” refers to is unclear.
The two lovebirds regularly exchanged texts during the election as well as the ensuing investigation, in which they expressed their dislike of Donald Trump and their support for Hillary Clinton.
Those texts have already cost Strzok both his position on Mueller’s team and eventually his job with the FBI. Meanwhile, Page left the FBI in May.
Now, though, the court of public opinion is starting to weigh in, and it is not good for either of them.

Clear Allegiance

When reading through the texts, it is very clear Page had an allegiance.
It was not just to the Democrat side of the aisle, but to the Clintons in particular.
In one of her texts, she was less than flattering to Obama.
The shocking thing, though, is how complimentary she seemed to be of Bill Clinton.
In numerous texts that were revealed over the past months, it was very clear Page wanted to see Hillary Clinton elected in 2016.
It was also made clear she was more than willing to bend the rules to thwart Trump’s effort to get into the White House.

Politically Motivated

Many are now asking the question if the Mueller investigation was politically motivated or legitimate.
After more than a year of investigating, Mueller has yet to produce a single link implicating Trump in collusion with the Russians.
It is not out of the question to now ask if this entire investigation was nothing more than a product of the anti-Trump bias that was clearly present in the Justice Department after Trump won.
