Ohio House Passes ‘Heartbeat’ Bill Again After John Kasich Veto
Ohio lawmakers have once again passed a measure that bans abortion once a fetal heartbeat can be detected – approximately the sixth or seventh week of pregnancy.
Thursday’s vote in the state House that approved the heartbeat bill echoed that of the last legislative session when it passed as well. In December 2016, both the Ohio House and Senate approved the measure, but Republican Gov. John Kasich vetoed it. According to the Columbus Dispatch, GOP Governor-elect Mike DeWine said he will sign it into law.
“It gives a more consistent and reliable marker for the courts to use to determine the validity of a human baby,” said Republican state Rep. Christina Hagan, a sponsor of the bill. “We know that when a heartbeat stops, we’ve lost a human life.”
The state House voted 59-35 to approve the legislation and send it to the Senate.
“The point is, it’s time,” Hagan said. “It doesn’t matter if the governor is with us or against us,” she added regarding Kasich.
According to the Dispatch, Democrat Rep. Nickie Antonio attempted to push an amendment to make exceptions for rape or incest, but a Republican procedural move blocked her effort.
“It’s often the case that a woman doesn’t even know she’s pregnant until after six weeks,” Antonio said. “This is especially true for women who are emotionally traumatized by rape.”
Similarly, Democrat Rep. Kristin Boggs said the bill was too extreme in that it did not allow a woman’s mental health to qualify as an exception.
“Motherhood should never be forced upon anyone,” she said.
But GOP Rep. Ron Hood explained his own experience of how his pregnant wife was told during a routine medical appointment that their unborn baby no longer had a heartbeat and that they would have to terminate the pregnancy.
“How could someone actually do this on purpose?” he asked.
Gun Control Activists Made One Ridiculous Move Before A Football Game
Sports are becoming too political.
The anti-American anthem protests forever damaged the NFL’s brand.
Now one NFL game saw another form of absurd political messaging.
NFL And Politics
Sports fans want escapism.
They want a respite from the constant onslaught of politics.
The same goes for movie and television watchers.
But it’s becoming harder and harder to avoid politics.
And it’s all because of the left.
They insist on pushing their agenda in all walks of life.
They live by the mantra that “everything is political.”
The NFL fell into this quagmire two years ago.
Free agent quarterback Colin Kaepernick began the anti-American protests by sitting during the National Anthem.
Many fans were disgusted.
Stadium attendance fell, ratings dipped, and advertising revenue slid.
But leftists in the media championed Kaepernick and the protests grew.
Commissioner Roger Goodell had a chance to set a protest policy.
But he backed down.
The NFL brand still hasn’t recovered.
The Push For Gun Control
If fans weren’t turned away by the anthem protests, the latest stadium
propaganda might do the trick.
Before a New York Jets game, activists flew a banner that included the
phrase “#EndGunViolence.”
It’s ridiculous to imply that anyone wants gun violence to continue.
The overwhelming majority of legal gun owners use their firearms responsibly.
And New York and New Jersey have some of the harshest gun laws in the country.
This isn’t the first time politics has mixed with Jets football.
The Jets alienated police officers by signing running back Isaiah Crowell after he posted a heinous drawing of a cop being executed.
Unfortunately, this is the new normal.
The days of watching a game without anti-American and anti-freedom
rhetoric packed in are over.
This is not what the founding fathers intended.
They didn’t want the government to control everyone’s lives.
But the left believes in the state—not the individual—above all else.
If leftists see something they don’t like, they want government force to “correct” it.
Left Propaganda
The Democrats are already making their move for more gun control laws.
The midterm results are still fresh.
But the left moves quickly.
They won’t be happy until they’ve completed their Marxist vision of disarming the population.
They know the American people would reject such a proposal.
So they work with baby steps.
All of their laws are always pushed “common sense.”
But the reality is anyone evil enough to commit a mass shooting will find a way to kill people.
London is currently experiencing this.
Recently, London’s murder rate surpassed New York’s, and London banned guns long ago.
Now London is discussing banning knives.
Leftists don’t understand that there’s no law that takes away evil intent.
They don’t see that the laws they push for are ineffective.
This is why people need the right to defend themselves.
But leftist gun laws only make it harder for them.
Statistically, two-thirds of all gun deaths are suicides.
Of the remaining one-third, the overwhelming majority is a result of gang violence.
However, the left never seems to find the will to do anything about that.
What Catholics can do who’ve lost faith in their bishops and even the pope
Shane Schaetzel
(Complete Christianity) –It’s finally happened. Now that the US Bishops Conference is over, and absolutely nothing was done to combat the crisis of homosexual abuse and cover up within the US Catholic Church, I can finally say I’ve lost faith.
No, I haven’t lost faith in Jesus Christ. No, I haven’t lost faith in the intercession of the Blessed Virgin Mary. No, I haven’t lost faith in the Creed, or the sacraments, or the teachings of the Church. No, I haven’t even lost faith in the Catholic Church herself. What I have lost faith in is the hierarchy of bishops, and their ability to solve problems collectively.
I have also lost faith in the pope. No, I’m not denying the papacy of Francis. I acknowledge him as the real pope, just as I acknowledge the hierarchy as real bishops. Rather, I’ve lost faith in him as a person, and in his ability to lead the Church.
The Barque of Peter has become a rudderless vessel, not because there is no pope, but because the pope is too distracted to steer the ship. By saying I’ve lost faith in Francis, I’m saying I have no confidence in Francis as a leader. So he receives a “vote of no confidence” from me.
In short, my faith in Christ, and the Church he established, remains intact. My faith in that Church’s current leadership has been irreparably shattered, and it would take a lifetime to rebuild, if it can be rebuilt at all. Right now I actually have more faith in the US Federal Government than I do the hierarchy of the Catholic Church, and that’s really saying something, because people who know me will tell you: “Shane has almost no faith in the federal government at all.”
Right now, I think it’s far more likely that Martians will land in Times Square, and world peace will be subsequently declared, before our Catholic hierarchy will do the right thing on homosexual abuse and cover up within their own ranks.
I think this is a more well-reasoned approach to the problems in the Church. Too many former Catholics tell me they’ve lost faith entirely, and they often cite the leadership of the Church as their reason why. Their complaints are legitimate, but their solution is absurd. If you’re one of those people reading this right now, this is for you…
Don’t leave Christ because of Judas. Don’t let bad priests and bishops chase you away from your baptismal birthright. Why would you give these evil men the satisfaction of driving you away from your home! You are Catholic. You deserve better than the leadership we have, we all do, but this is (unfortunately) what we’ve been scourged with for now.
So I would like to propose a challenge to you. Rather than walk away from Christ, and the Church he founded, do as I am doing instead. Become a good Catholic in spite of these Judases. For they say the greatest revenge is living well.
Become Catholic again, but do it in a way that counters bad priests and bishops, and deprives them of their ability to control, manipulate and abuse. Pick up an old Baltimore Catechism (yes, it’s still legitimate) and read it. Read the Bible too. Start with the Gospels. Start praying again, the way you remember, and maybe say a rosary or two. Then, before you return to mass, try to find a good one, where the Judases in the Church have had little influence. Start by looking here.
The rest of this is addressed to all faithful lay Catholics. I’ve come to the conclusion that there will be no reform from the hierarchy. Based on what just happened at the US Bishops Conference in Baltimore, and the likely players responsible for it, I am now 100% convinced the Extraordinary Meeting of Bishops in Rome this February will be a joke. I am convinced it will simply be an elaborate attempt to confuse the faithful into believing that something concrete will be done, when in fact nothing will happen at all.
An appearance of transparency will be presented, but there will be no real transparency. An impression of reform will be presented, but there will be no reform. All of this because the men at the top, including the pope, are more interested in protecting their golden calf of allowing homosexuality to flourish in the hierarchy.
So where does that leave us, lay faithful, in all of this? While we are powerless to reform our Church, we are not helpless. We actually do have some options…
-
We must accept that no reform will come from inside the Church. It’s not going to happen, so we must get that out of our heads now!
It’s time to stop asking the bishops conferences for change. It’s time to stop asking the Vatican for change. It’s time to put away all those tears and demonstrations for Pope Francis, and the bishops, because they are simply not going to change.
If you’re an abuse victim, it’s time to go straight to the governmental authorities. Don’t bother with the bishops anymore. They can learn about your abuse claims from the district attorney. News flash for everyone: there is already a hotline to report clerical sexual abuse in the Catholic Church. It’s called 9-1-1.
Not to worry, reform will eventually come to the hierarchy, but it won’t come from within. It will come from law enforcement and the hand of God himself. Christ himself will eventually rid us of this corrupt hierarchy, just as he extinguished the corrupt religious leaders of ancient Israel. Woe to them! It would be better if the law catches up with them first.
-
We, as Catholic lay people, are just going to have to be better stewards of our donations. That means being more alert and aware of what’s going on in our Church. YES, there are some good parishes and dioceses out there, and they deserve to be funded!
But here’s the deal. If you’re giving money to a parish, diocese or organization that is corrupt, you’re a very big part of the problem. You’re financing corruption with your money and you’re doing it willingly. Nobody is putting a gun to your head and forcing you.
Rather, you are underwriting the rape and corruption of teenage boys, along with a plethora of homosexual liaisons between priests and others, coupled with all the financial malfeasance that goes along with it. You’re funding it — voluntarily! This has got to stop.
So what we need to do is start looking at our parishes and dioceses very closely. If something smells fishy, even just a little fishy, it probably is. Like the saying goes; where there’s smoke there’s fire! If something is smoldering in your parish, don’t fund it. Give your donations to another parish instead. -
If something is smoldering in your diocese, don’t fund it. Send your money to a different diocese instead. If it’s not clean, don’t fund it! Be responsible with your donations for heaven’s sake!
Finally, don’t give a dime to the USCCB or the CCHD. These organizations have proved to be Leftist front groups that confuse the faithful and back things the Church opposes. If you want to fight poverty, give that money to a local Catholic soup kitchen instead. At least there you’ll be able to see the results. -
Lastly, this leads me to the final step.
Once you know who to not fund, you’ll also know who to walk away from. It’s time to walk out of corrupt parishes and corrupt dioceses, and yes, there is a canonical way to do this.
You can leave the corruption without leaving the Catholic Church, and this is where so many former Catholics have erred. You don’t need to leave your baptismal birthright as a Catholic to be relatively free of those Judas clergy corrupting the Church.
There are canonical options available to you, and if you’re smart (you need to be smart in times like these) you can make use of them. I cannot give you a checklist for how to find a good parish and bishop. That’s not how it works. But as the Scriptures say, you shall know them by their fruits.
There are certain outward signs that a parish and diocese will display that indicate a strong Catholic identity, and less of a likelihood for homosexualist corruption. It’s not a guarantee (nothing is), but it does radically improve the odds. I’ve outlined them extensively here.
My last post was an open letter to the US Catholic Bishops which I wrote to them the week before the Baltimore Conference. I didn’t expect any kind of response from that, but what we got was even far worse than what I imagined. We literally got nothing — a great big fat zero — along with plenty of hints from both the Conference and Rome that cover-up will continue to remain the status quo.
I ended by saying this would be my last letter to them, and I have no desire to communicate any further. I meant it. As the title of this essay says, I’ve lost faith in them entirely. So that open letter was the last they’ll ever hear from me.
This post, directed toward my regular readers, is likewise intended to be my last essay on the subject of homosexual abuse and cover up. This is mainly because I really have nothing more to say. I’ve already said everything I can on the matter. I may update my social media feeds with some of the latest current events on this topic, but I really don’t have any more essays to write or recommendations to make. This whole mess will soon play out with law enforcement, and perhaps a little divine intervention along the way. So there is nothing more that I can add.
We have been burdened to live through the saddest era in the history of the Catholic Church. What has happened is worse than the Arian Heresy, and I believe future generations will acknowledge that.
For the Homosexualist Heresy, and all the sexual sin that accompanies it, especially the sexual abuse of minors, is a challenge to the very nature of Christianity itself. If homosexuality (sodomy or “gay sex”) is not a sin, then there is no such thing as sexual sin at all, and the entire 2000 years of Christian teaching on the matter has been one big lie.
If sexual sin does not exist, then the sacrifice of Christ’s crucifixion is cheapened. The need for the gospel is lessened, and the disciplines of the Church are irrelevant. The entire Christian faith hinges on this matter. For if there is no sexual sin, then most people don’t sin at all. The average person doesn’t murder, or steal, or slander others.
The average Catholic goes to mass on Sundays, honors his parents, and rarely ever uses the Lord’s name in vain.
What is adultery when a man can “marry” another man? What is adultery when a married woman can have a fling with her girlfriend on the side?
If all of this is to be made permissible, against the Scriptures and Catechism, as the homosexualists desire, then the Church itself becomes nothing more than a social accessory, totally optional to the Christian who can define his “personal relationship with Jesus Christ” any way he likes.
Jesus himself becomes just another Buddha or Krishna for the modern man to choose at his personal discretion. I have no desire to be part of a “church” that looks like this. Either there is such a thing as sexual sin or there isn’t. Either what the Scriptures tell us is true about homosexuality (sodomy or “gay sex”) or the Scriptures are false.
Erase the condemnation of homosexuality from the Bible, and you erase the sacrifice that atoned for it on the cross.
I know the truth. I believe what the Scriptures tell us. I believe what the Catechism teaches us. I believe what the Catholic-Christian faith has always taught us.
I will not support those who deny these things, either by word or deed, and they won’t get a dime of my money, nor will I regularly attend their parishes and cathedrals. I have lost faith in them.
I’ve decided to move on now, strictly to orthodox parishes and bishops who are accountable and transparent. I’ve checked out of the corrupt-mainstream Catholic Church. There is nothing more I can do or say. If you’re reading this, and you’re ready to leave the corruption behind, this is how you do it legally and properly.
Federal Prosecutors Investigating ‘Altered’ Election Documents Tied to Florida Democrats
By Jim E
Federal prosecutors are reportedly looking into “altered” election documents tied to Florida Democrats, a move that is lending legitimacy to the notion that there is election tampering going on in Florida.
Florida recount ordered
The midterm elections for both U.S. Senate and the Florida governorship are still hotly contested. The results were so close, the Florida Secretary of State has ordered a mandatory recount in both races:
Currently, Rep. Ron DeSantis is the assumed winner of the Florida governorship, beating out Andrew Gillum, while current Governor Rick Scott has, as of right now, beaten incumbent Senator Bill Nelson.
Broward County has a history of corruption
Much of the controversy stemming out of Florida comes from one county: Broward. Election officials in Broward County are notoriously sloppy and inept at their jobs. Brenda Snipes, the Broward County Supervisor of Elections, has a nasty history of ballot-destruction and tampering.
In recent days, more questionable activity has been found in Broward County, leading to speculation that Snipes and her Democrat cronies are trying to rig the process.
President Trump has already directed federal law enforcement to look into any fraud or discrepancies in the recounting process.
Now it looks like federal prosecutors have zeroed in on questionable ballots. These ballots are linked to the Florida Democratic Party.
Politico reports:
The Florida Department of State last week asked federal prosecutors to investigate dates that were changed on official state election documents, the first voting “irregularities” it has flagged in the wake of the 2018 elections.
The concerns, which the department says can be tied to the Florida Democratic Party, center around date changes on forms used to fix vote-by-mail ballots sent with incorrect or missing information. Known as “cure affidavits,” those documents used to fix mail ballots were due no later than 5 p.m. on Nov. 5 — the day before the election. But affidavits released on Tuesday by the DOS show that documents from four different counties said the ballots could be returned by 5 p.m. on Thursday, which is not accurate.
Given the stakes in these recounts – a valuable Senate seat and the Florida governorship – it’s imperative that federal officials oversee a fair process. Broward County has proven to be untrustworthy when it comes to holding transparent elections.
The Last Person Pelosi Ever Expected Just Drove The Final Nail In Her Coffin
Nancy Pelosi’s career is on the rocks.
She expected to cruise into the position of being next Speaker of the House.
But the last person anyone ever expected may have just driven the final nail in her coffin.
Nancy Pelosi Faces Opposition To Becoming Speaker of the House
Democrats won the majority in the House of Representatives.
Nancy Pelosi stuck out eight years as minority leader for this very moment.
She thought it would mark her return to power.
Instead, it could be her career’s death knell.
Over 50 Democrats campaigned on opposing Pelosi for Speaker of the House.
They promised their constituents they would vote against her.
Now 17 Democrats have signed a letter announcing their opposition to Pelosi.
And to make matters worse for Pelosi, this is just the floor for her opposition.
More Democrats wanted to vote against her, but were not comfortable going public with their opposition.
Pelosi got the hint that her opposition was stronger than she realized when Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez led 200 left-wing loons to protest in her office over so-called “climate change” legislation.
Ocasio-Cortez and the militant leftists who won election in 2018 don’t care what happened the last time the Democrats tried to pass this economy-killing legislation.
Pelosi rammed it through in 2009, but the Senate never took it up.
Dozens of Democrats lost their seats because they voted to roll the US economy back to the Stone Ages by strangling the energy sector to death with new taxes and regulations.
Democrat Congressman Seth Moulton said he is “100 percent confident” the rebels have the votes to topple Pelosi.
“I’m a busy person, but I will be the speaker of the House no matter what he said,” Pelosi fired back.
Opposition To Pelosi Grows
The opposition to Pelosi lacked one thing – another candidate for Speaker.
Now they may have one.
Marcia Fudge – a black Congresswoman from outside Cleveland – said she may throw her hat in the ring.
“People are asking me to do it, and I am thinking about it,” Fudge told cleveland.com in an exclusive interview. “I need to give it some thought and see if I have an interest. I am at the very beginning of this process. It is just in discussion at this point.”
Because of the Democrats reliance on black voters and identity politics, Fudge could be Pelosi’s worst nightmare.
Members of the Congressional Black Caucus believe they have been shut out of leadership.
They could join the anti-Pelosi freshmen in supporting Fudge.
Fudge also implemented identity politics as a selling point for her candidacy.
“When you look at the people who support this party the most, they are women and African Americans and especially African American women,” she explained. “We keep talking about diversity, but there is nothing diverse about the top of our ticket. We have to not just talk the talk, but walk the walk.”
That could spell trouble for Pelosi.
Younger Democrats place “diversity” at the top of their values pyramid.
It is the end-all, be-all for them.
And now Pelosi could be on the wrong side of their fight for “social justice.”
We will keep you up to date on any new developments in this ongoing story.
Federal Court Smacks Clinton Over Emails

A federal judge has ruled that failed presidential candidate Hillary Clinton must answer more questions about her emails and the failures surrounding them. These answers also must be given under oath.
According to The Daily Caller:
A federal court is compelling former secretary of state Hillary Clinton to respond to further questions — under oath — about her notorious emails.
U.S. District Court Judge Emmet Sullivan issued the ruling Wednesday in response to a lawsuit from Judicial Watch, the conservative research and investigative group that has long had its sights on both of the Clintons.
Judicial Watch President Tom Fitton was jubilant about the decision in a Thursday morning tweet: “Breaking: Court rules late today Hillary Clinton must answer more email questions — including key [questions] about the setting up of her email system.”
The decision is the result of a Freedom of Information lawsuit initiated by Judicial Watch that sought to clarify why Clinton’s executive assistant, Huma Abedin, was authorized to be both an employee of the State Department and a “special government employee” for outside jobs, according to news release issued Thursday by Judicial Watch.
Clinton will have 30 days to respond as to how she set up her private email server while serving as Secretary of State and whether the State Department issued any guidance on how to use those servers.
This ruling gives new life to the investigation into Clinton's use of her private email server. Former FBI Director James Comey suspiciously cleared her during the election, and this could shed new light on that clearance.
Central Americans stalled at U.S.-Mexico border, mull work offers

MEXICALI, Mexico (Reuters) - Hundreds of migrants from a caravan of Central Americans were stalled at the U.S.-Mexico border on Saturday, where a handful said they welcomed recent Mexican offers of employment in the face of a hostile U.S. reception.

The Mexican government last week reiterated job offers to the migrants, saying that those who obtained legal status could occupy thousands of vacancies, most of them in the country’s “maquiladoras,” doing factory work.
Since arriving at the border last week, they have been denied entry through the gates linking Mexico to the United States.
Dozens of the mostly Hondurans waited in lines to bathe and washed clothes sullied from 2,600 miles of relentless travel.
Several members of the caravan, which left the crime-wracked city of San Pedro Sula, Honduras, on Oct. 13, told Reuters they would be willing to stay put in Mexico rather than face rejection across the border.
“If we had work, we would stay. This has been very tiring,” said Orbelina Orellana, a 26-year-old Honduran mother of three, waiting at the Alfa and Omega shelter in the city of Mexicali, which borders Calexico, California.
“I cry a lot to not be able to feed them as I’d like,” Orellana said of her children. “I just want an opportunity.”
Briefly stalled by Mexican riot police on a highway crossing between two southern Mexican states late last month, a dozen migrants told Reuters they rejected such offers, preferring to try their luck in the United States.
But on Saturday, some said that thinking had changed.
“We had the idea to cross to the United States, but they told us it will be nearly impossible,” said Mayra Gonzalez, 32, traveling with her two children. “We cannot starve as we wait to find out if they’ll give us asylum. Better to work, by the grace of God, here in Mexico.”
In a sharp reversal of longstanding U.S. policy, President Donald Trump’s administration last week began enforcing new rules that curtail asylum rights for anyone who arrives without documents at the U.S. border.
Trump earlier this month deployed almost 6,000 troops along the long U.S. border with Mexico.
As they wound north through Mexico, the migrants were helped along by local authorities and residents who offered food, clothing and even free rides on daily treks that averaged 30 miles a day, much of it on foot.
But that welcome became noticeably frostier as the caravan reached the border.
In Tijuana, a city long accustomed to a population of migrants in transit, deportees and U.S. pleasure-seekers, a clutch of local residents last week threw rocks at the migrants, telling them to go home.
But some said the Central Americans could help boost the local economy.
“We are not against migration,” Ulises Araiza, President of the Association of Human Resources of Industry in Tijuana, told Reuters.
“We know the situation that these people face in their country. But we also favor order so as to integrate them into the labor sector, because only in Tijuana do we have a demand in the maquiladora industry for 5,000 people.”

Trump Points Out the ‘Ironic’ ‘Con’ of the Migrant Caravan
We’ve all seen the pictures from the migrant caravan currently working its way up through Mexico toward the United States border. While the phenomenon has gotten less coverage than it did before the midterm elections, there’s one item in particular that you can probably remember from the drone-and-helicopter wide shots showing the crowd: the waving flags.
President Donald Trump wonders why that is.
“Isn’t it ironic that large Caravans of people are marching to our border wanting U.S.A. asylum because they are fearful of being in their country — yet they are proudly waving their country’s flag,” Trump said in a series of Friday tweets.
“Can this be possible? Yes, because it is all a BIG CON, and the American taxpayer is paying for it!”
Isn’t it ironic that large Caravans of people are marching to our border wanting U.S.A. asylum because they are fearful of being in their country - yet they are proudly waving their country’s flag. Can this be possible? Yes, because it is all a BIG CON, and the American taxpayer is paying for it!
What exactly the con was went unexplained in the presidential tweets, although it didn’t take much to deduce.
Caravans don’t start as an organic phenomenon. People don’t gather ’round the town square in, say, Honduras and say to themselves, “You know, this country is a mess. You know what we should do? Round up tens of thousands of people, march up to the U.S. border and demand asylum or cross over illegally! I bet we can get tons of media coverage along the way, too.”
If you therefore accept that caravans are inorganic phenomena, you also have to accept that there’s a political mover behind it. The most common conspiracy theory on the internet seems to involve George Soros, although no evidence has been produced in this direction.
A much more likely prime mover — indeed, one more than willing to take credit for it — is Bartolo Fuentes, a former Honduran politician who says he organized the march in order to shine a light on the failures of his country’s leaders.
“In Honduras, the government wants to minimize why people are leaving — they know they are going to leave and they want to say they are doing so because of lies and the opposition, not the conditions that they created,” he said, according to the New York Post.
“This is in line with what the United States is saying — that there are false promises being made. And this pro-government news program played into that messaging, trying to say that there is financing when really people just need to get out.”
However, as Benjamin Arie pointed out in a Western Journal Op-Ed, Fuentes has quite the radical history. He’s a member of the LIBRE party, a communist-socialist group that proposed repealing the country’s constitution. Fuentes is also tied to far-left former Honduran leader Manuel Zelaya, who was removed from office back in 2009 after allying with former Venezuelan strongman Hugo Chavez and trying to change the constitution to stay in power, along with other faux pas.
In one blog post defending the former president, Fuentes said the “American empire” needed to face defeat.
“It is necessary to defeat the opposing forces, which are fundamentally the oligarchy … and the American empire that for now is embodied in the gringo ultra-right that sponsored the coup d’état against President Zelaya,” Fuentes said.
Of course, that kind of ideology could explain all of the flags from other countries dotting the caravan route. Or perhaps it’s something deeper. Either way, it certainly is an irony — embracing the symbol of a country they seem so desperate to leave.
One has the utmost sympathy for those who are simply trying to leave poverty, of course. It’s their responsibility, however, to follow the legal route to leave poverty — and that isn’t requesting asylum, which isn’t designed for economic migrants. However, when the point of a caravan is simply a political one, that sympathy is rightly diminished. G’ day…Ciao…
