Report: Trump can build the wall without congressional approval
by Jerry McCormick
As the clock ticks nearer to a new year and a Democrat takeover of the House, Dems just got some bad news out of Washington.
According to two USA Today columnists, President Donald Trump does not need Congress’ stamp of approval to get his border wall built.
Democrat Obstructionists
Democrats have been fighting Donald Trump and the Americans who voted for him over the border wall since the day Trump took office.
Even though legislation has been on the books for decades, Democrats have refused to give in.
And even though Democrats like Bill Clinton, Hillary Clinton, and even Barack Obama are on record demanding a border wall, they now act like they never said it.
The man leading the current block of border wall financing, Sen. Chuck Schumer (D-NY), used to stand on the dais regularly demanding more border security.
But today, he says it is immoral and refuses to work with President Trump to provide the funding needed for the border wall.
But as it turns out, there is plenty of money in our government to pay for the wall.
Better yet, President Trump does not need the cooperation of Democrat obstructionists to make it happen.
Shifting Money
When it became clear that the Democrats were not going to work with President Trump, the White House started to investigate pockets of funds available in various departments of the government.
Congress has already allocated a budget for border security of $1.6 billion.
But that does not include funding for the border wall.
In addition to that money, Trump still needs an additional $5 billion in funding.
If the president wants to use executive privilege, about 50 times that amount is available throughout the government, according to the columnists.
For example, the Department of Agriculture has several hundred billion out in loans.
Trump could authorize the sale of some of those loans to the private sector, then use that money for the border wall.
Because these loans are a source of steady income, it may not be the most popular decision with our elected representatives, but who really cares?
Elected representatives on both sides of the aisle have proven regularly they simply do not care what We The People want — but President Trump clearly does.
Build the wall, Mr. President, and give the American people that voted for you what they asked you for when they put you into the Oval Office.

Mark Meadows Says Trump Will Not Budge on Requested Amount for Wall Funding
By Henry Rodgers
Republican North Carolina Rep. Mark Meadows said President Donald Trump will not budge on the $5 billion requested for a border wall Wednesday, as the government enters its sixth day of a partial shutdown.
Meadows, chairman of the House Freedom Caucus, said he does not believe Trump will agree to the Democrats’ counteroffer of $1.3 billion that could be used for the border wall, saying he does not think the amount is “reasonable.” The government will remain shut down until a compromise can be worked out among the two parties.
“I can tell you, if they believe this president is going to yield on this particular issue, they’re misreading him, misreading the American people,” Meadows told CNN on “Inside Politics.” “I see no evidence that would suggest he would come even close to 1.3” billion in border wall funding.
This comes as Meadows pushed strongly against a short-term funding bill that would have funded the government until Feb. 8, saying the wall is necessary and that “the time to act is now.”
“The time to stand up for the American people and fight for wall funding is now. If the president vetoes a (continuing resolution) without wall funding, the American people and his allies in Congress will back him up. We’ll support him. The time to act is now. That’s why we were elected and it’s time we follow through,” Meadows told The Daily Caller News Foundation days before the partial government shutdown.
Trump said the federal government will remain shut down unless there is an agreement on some type of border wall or fence Tuesday when speaking to reporters in the Oval Office.
Incoming acting White House chief of staff Mick Mulvaney also warned it is “very possible” the partial government shutdown will run into 2019, as Trump iTrey Gowdy Dropped A Bombshell About His Future That No One Could Believe
Trey Gowdy stunned Americans when he announced his retirement from Congress.
No one could believe he would walk away from his post investigating Barack Obama’s Deep State.
But now word has surfaced about Trey Gowdy’s comeback—and you’ll be speechless when you find out what he’s doing.
Trey Gowdy chaired the House Oversight Committee, as well as sat on the Intelligence and Judiciary Committees.
These positions afforded him prime real estate to investigate Barack Obama’s Deep State schemes to spy on Donald Trump and undermine his Presidency.
Gowdy helped uncover the FISA warrant where the FBI lied to a federal judge about who paid for the Christopher Steele dossier.
His work also helped reveal the fact that, under James Comey, the FBI deployed human spies to infiltrate the Trump campaign to try and frame them for colluding with Russia.
However, he gave all that up when he announced 2018 would be his final year in Congress.
Everyone began to wonder what he would do next.
Gowdy answered that question when he took a job at the high-powered South Carolina law firm Nelson Mullins Riley & Scarborough.
The former South Carolina Congressman will work at the firm as a white-collar criminal defense attorney.
Some Gowdy fans see that as a natural landing spot.
For the last two years, Gowdy received an up-close and personal view of how the FBI bent the rules and abused their power in order to target Barack Obama’s political enemies.
But other conservatives wonder if Gowdy will ever return to politics.
There were rumors he had turned down an offer for Trump to nominate him to a federal judgeship in the Fourth Circuit.
Some in Washington even floated his name for FBI Director before Trump nominated Christopher Wray.
Even though Gowdy expressed zero interest in these jobs, it did not stop many Trump supporters from hoping he would eventually return to elected office.
However, the soon-to-be-former South Carolina Congressman did recently lay out two scenarios on Fox News for how he would get back into politics.
Unfortunately for some conservatives, neither of them involved running for office again.
“I will get back in politics if Tim Scott runs for president and he says, ‘Look, I need you to go to Iowa and New Hampshire and knock on doors,’ which he probably won’t because I’d hurt him. You know, if John Ratcliffe ran for governor of Texas and said, ‘Come help me,’ I would,” Gowdy declared in a recent Fox News interview. “But you’ll never see me on the ballot again.”
Gowdy proved himself to be a dogged investigator.
In addition to his work ferreting out the FBI and Barack Obama’s Deep State conspiracy against Donald Trump, Gowdy also chaired the House Benghazi Select Committee.
In that role, Gowdy exposed Hillary Clinton’s criminal conduct in sending classified information over an unsecured private server.
Even though Republicans lost the majority in the House, many conservatives believe he could still play an important role as a counterweight to the expected onslaught on Democrat investigations into Trump.
Do you think Trey Gowdy should get back into politics and run for another office?nsists funding for the border wall must be included.

The two parties will have to figure out an agreement, and the senators must be present for a vote on the Senate floor to send a bill to the president to sign and end the government shutdown.
