Pro-Abortion Terry McAuliffe “Looking at” Running for President in 2020

  • Former Virginia Gov. Terry McAuliffe, hailed as a “champion” by the abortion industry, now is considering running for president.
  • On Sunday, McAuliffe said he is “obviously looking” into running against President Donald Trump in 2020, the Washington Examiner reports.
  • A pro-abortion Democrat, McAuliffe was described as a “champion” of abortion by Planned Parenthood in 2017. The abortion chain gave him an award for repeatedly thwarting efforts to regulate the abortion industry and limit abortions.
  • On Sunday, McAuliffe told CNN’s State of the Union that he is exploring the possibility of a presidential run.
  • “I’ve 40 years of working for this party. I’ve plenty of friends in many states. So I don’t have to rush into this,” McAuliffe said. “Here’s the message for Democrats. They don’t want an angry liar in the White House. They want someone who is compulsively optimistic and realistic. And the Democrats have to lay out an agenda of success of what we plan to do.”
  • He called President Donald Trump “unstable” and “too emotional” to run the country, and he advocated for “Medicaid for All” in America, basically government-controlled health care.
  • “Am I for healthcare for all individuals, affordable, quality care?” he told CNN. “You bet I am. The key is — and this is why I say governors are very important because when we make promises we have to deliver — we have to actually pay for what we’re actually promising. So, as we get into this debate, let’s have an honest, realistic discussion of where we need to go as a nation.”
  • McAuliffe made it a priority to weaken abortion clinic regulations as governor of Virginia, according to the Family Foundation of Virginia. The state adopted the regulations in 2011 to protect women and babies after the gruesome discoveries at Kermit Gosnell’s “house of horrors” abortion clinic in Philadelphia came to light.
  • The regulations have helped to protect women and babies in Virginia from shoddy abortion practices, including those of notorious abortionist Steven Brigham. The late-term abortionist lost his license to practice in five states, faced criminal charges for killing late-term babies, employed a sex offender and allegedly injured several women. In 2016, Virginia authorities shut down Brigham’s Fairfax abortion facility after discovering filthy, dangerous conditions during an inspection.
  • But McAuliffe worked to weaken abortion clinic regulations when he was governor.
  • He also vetoed a bill to defund the Planned Parenthood abortion chain and promised to veto a late-term abortion ban.
  • When he was running for governor, McAuliffe received almost $1.5 million from the abortion industry for his election campaign, according to the pro-life organization.
  • Other pro-abortion Democrats also are exploring presidential bids. They include U.S. Sen. Elizabeth Warren of Massachusetts who announced this week that she is officially forming a presidential exploratory committee.

Ivy League Study Finds Liberals ‘Patronize’ Minorities, Conservatives Don’t
By TROY WORDEN

Hillary "I Ain't in No Ways Tired" Clinton. A new Ivy League study shows white liberals are more likely to speak in "patronizing" terms to minorities than white conservatives are. Surprised?

A study by Princeton and Yale researchers turns a common political narrative on its head: White liberals actually are much more likely to act in “patronizing” ways toward minorities than are white conservatives.
White Democratic presidential candidates and self-identified liberals are more likely to downplay their own competence when speaking to minorities, using fewer words that emphasize competence and more words that show warmth, according to the report titled “Self-Presentation in Interracial Settings: The Competence Downshift by White Liberals.”
In contrast, the study found that white conservatives do not address white and minority audiences in a significantly different fashion.
Cydney Dupree, an assistant professor of organizational behavior at the Yale School of Management who worked on the study alongside Princeton co-author Susan Fiske, said she was surprised by the findings.
“It was kind of an unpleasant surprise to see this subtle but persistent effect,” Dupree said in a press release. “Even if it’s ultimately well-intentioned, it could be seen as patronizing.”
African-Americans typically are stereotyped in American society as less competent and white liberals’ behavior toward them might reflect this bias, Dupree said.
Researchers analyzed a total of 74 speeches given to both white and minority audiences by Democratic and Republican presidential candidates over a 25-year period, finding similar results.
“The team found that Democratic candidates used fewer competence-related words in speeches delivered to mostly minority audiences than they did in speeches delivered to mostly white audiences,” the press release said.
These “competence-related words” refer to one of two measures the researchers used to analyze the speeches. These words are about “ability” or “status,” such as “assertive” or “competitive,” according to the press release.
The other measure of the speeches was words related to “warmth” — that is, “words about friendliness, such as ‘supportive’ and ‘compassionate.’”
The number of competence-related words used by white conservatives in front of white and minority audiences did not differ in a statistically significant way, researchers found. White conservatives generally used the same number of competence-related words regardless of the racial makeup of their audiences.
However, Dupree said, Republicans gave fewer speeches to minority audiences than Democrats did. Of the 74 speeches selected for the study, about half were addressed to mostly minority audiences.
Mike Gonzalez, a senior research fellow at The Heritage Foundation, told The Daily Signal that he found the study’s results unsurprising.
“It was shocking, but not surprising, to see documented data that liberals are condescending toward minorities. Shocking because one would think that in 2018 everyone would strive to treat individuals as individuals,” Gonzalez said.
“But it wasn’t surprising because it is part of the liberal writ precisely not to think of individuals as such, but as members of identity collectives with inherent traits and ways of thinking, and to believe that members of designated minorities need government help to succeed,” he said.
The researchers also set up an experiment. White participants who completed an assessment of how liberal they were had to choose words to respond to questions via email from hypothetical individuals named Emily, which researchers described as a “stereotypically white name,” and Lakisha, described as a “stereotypically black name.”
“Liberal individuals were less likely to use words that would make them appear highly competent when the person they were addressing was presumed to be black rather than white,” the press release said. “No significant differences were seen in the word selection of conservatives based on the presumed race of their partner.”
Dupree and Fiske said they suspect the “competence downshift” observed among white liberals could indicate that white liberals more often try to connect with minorities.
Dupree said she hoped the study would help white liberals who consider themselves “allies” to avoid being perceived as patronizing and “unwittingly contributing to group divides.”
The study was scheduled for publication in the Journal of Personality and Social Psychology.

BRAZIL’S NEW PRESIDENT THANKS TRUMP — VOWS TO BRING PROSPERITY ‘UNDER GOD’S PROTECTION’

Hanna Bogorowski | Reporter

Former Brazilian Army captain Jair Bolsonaro was sworn in Tuesday as the president of Brazil and received a prompt congratulations from U.S. President Donald Trump, with whom Bolsonaro is often compared.
“I will work tirelessly so that Brazil reaches its destiny,” the new president said at his swearing-in ceremony in front of Brazil’s Congress. “My vow is to strengthen Brazil’s democracy.”
Bolsonaro, 63, is often referred to by the media as the “Trump of the Tropics,” not only for his provocative statements on issues ranging from gun laws to abortion and immigration, but also for his ability to reach a similar base of Brazilians as Trump did Americans.
“Congratulations to President [Bolsonaro] who just made a great inauguration speech,” Trump wrote on Twitter. “[…] the U.S.A. is with you!”
Bolsonaro emerged as the winner of Brazil’s presidential election runoff in October and became the first conservative candidate to be elected in the country in several terms. (RELATED: ‘Trump Of The Tropics’ Wins First Round Of Brazilian Presidential Elections)
The Social Liberal Party candidate and former longtime congressman replied to Trump’s congratulations, saying, “Together, under God’s protection, we shall bring prosperity and progress to our people!”
Dear Mr. President @realDonalTrump, I truly appreciate your words of encouragement. Together, under God’s protection, we shall bring prosperity and progress to our people!
One promise Bolsonaro made on the campaign trail was to move the Brazilian embassy in Israel from Tel Aviv to Jerusalem, following Trump’s May decision to do the same.
Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu reiterated this claim Sunday, announcing in Brazil that Bolsonaro told him the embassy move is “not a question of ‘if’; it’s just a question of ‘when,'” Bloomberg reported.

Mitt Romney called jealous, vengeful for crucifying Trump in New Year’s op-ed, months after begging for his endorsement

RINO Utah senator Mitt Romney blasted President Trump in a scathing Washington Post op-ed
Playwright William Shakespeare famously claimed that “hell hath no fury like a woman scorned.” Anyone who believes that has never met incoming Utah Senator Mitt Romney, who torched President Trump in a blistering Washington Post op-ed.
Romney — who begged to be Trump’s Secretary of State — is apparently still holding a grudge at having had to jump through hoops like a show poodle, only to be rejected for the Cabinet post.
Romney exacted his petty revenge in a WaPo op-ed, where he suggested that President Trump be more like liberal leaders in Europe (which is a mess) and tamp down his pro-America rhetoric.
“The Trump presidency made a deep descent in December. The departures of Defense Secretary Jim Mattis and White House Chief of Staff John F. Kelly, the appointment of senior persons of lesser experience, the abandonment of allies who fight beside us, and the president’s thoughtless claim that America has long been a ‘sucker’ in world affairs all defined his presidency down.
His conduct over the past two years, particularly his actions this month, is evidence that the president has not risen to the mantle of the office.
It is not that all of the president’s policies have been misguided. He was right to align U.S. corporate taxes with those of global competitors, to strip out excessive regulations, to crack down on China’s unfair trade practices, to reform criminal justice and to appoint conservative judges. These are policies mainstream Republicans have promoted for years. But policies and appointments are only a part of a presidency.
To a great degree, a presidency shapes the public character of the nation.”
So basically, Mitt Romney is saying that he agrees with many of President Trump’s policies, but doesn’t like his brash demeanor. Um, so what?
Romney then cited a survey showing that Europeans think less of the American presidency under Donald Trump. Romney wrote:
“Trump’s words and actions have caused dismay around the world.
In a 2016 Pew Research Center poll, 84 percent of people in Germany, Britain, France, Canada and Sweden believed the American president would “do the right thing in world affairs.”
One year later, that number had fallen to 16 percent.”
Again: So what? Remember what Trump said: “I’m the president of the United States — I’m not the president of the globe.”

The truth is @MittRomney lacked the ability to save this nation. @realDonaldTrump has saved it. Jealousy is a drink best served warm and Romney just proved it. So sad, I wish everyone had the courage @realDonaldTrump had.

James Woods Digs Up Devastating Bloomberg Photo, Buries ‘Fuel Conservation’ Outcry
It’s a new year, and a new Twitter post from actor James Woods is getting attention for taking decisive aim at the establishment media.
His powerful New Year’s Eve tweet was also a twofer, hitting at media mogul and potential 2020 candidate Michael Bloomberg.
And the picture said it all — Bloomberg alighting from a private jet, an experience few Americans will ever have, but one that’s routine for the billionaire class.

Does Michael Bloomberg draft his climate change “fuel conservation” ravings aboard his private jet...?
2:41 PM - Dec 31, 2018
Woods’ point about Bloomberg’s hypocrisy is valid. Virtually every moment during the businessman and former New York City mayor’s appearance on  “Meet the Press” on Sunday was spent talking about climate change and energy.
Mike Bloomberg @MikeBloomberg

Addressing climate change is an urgent challenge - and a great opportunity. I joined @ChuckTodd to discuss both. Watch now: https://mikebloom.bg/2StWMEU
In the meantime, he travels by private jet. Bloomberg and his green energy buddies might make a lot of noise in the media about energy conservation and lowering human impact on the environment, but it’s tough to think of a mode of travel that uses more fuel and is less friendly to the environment.

A 2013 “news analysis” from The New York Times provides a clue as to how much of a carbon footprint air travel creates.

“One round-trip flight from New York to Europe or to San Francisco creates a warming effect equivalent to 2 or 3 tons of carbon dioxide per person. The average American generates about 19 tons of carbon dioxide a year; the average European, 10.

“So if you take five long flights a year, they may well account for three-quarters of the emissions you create.”

A private jet may differ from a commercial jet, and in the years since the article was published, the numbers may have improved. But there’s no denying Bloomberg’s life choices aren’t exactly as green as the choices climate change activists want to force on the rest of us.

This is far from the first time Woods has launched a knock-out blow against the establishment media. He’s hit at CNN for poor journalism:
James Woods @RealJamesWoods
So I’m guessing investigative journalism isn’t your strong point. You needed to be “told” this was a fake account? Only at #CNN...
He’s also taken on CNN’s Jim Acosta, specifically, for complaining about the media being called the “enemy of the people.” Woods made a point that other have made about the statement being directed at the purveyors of biased or “fake news,” not honest practitioners of the Fourth Estate.
James Woods @RealJamesWoods
Dear Jim, of course the press is not the enemy of the people. Unbiased, honest, responsible journalism is a bulwark of free society.  Vain, narcissistic, biased blather is not journalism. You are, sir, not a journalist, but you are the enemy of the people. @Acosta @PressSec
Woods’ Bloomberg tweet is not the first time he’s pointed out raging hypocrisy, either. One of his targets was outgoing Sen. Jeff Flake:
There is a literally a rapist in this picture. Are you insane? #DecencyMyAss
View image on Twitter
And when Nike opted to highly promote cop-protester Colin Kaepernick with its brand, Woods called the company out, as well. The video he linked to gives powerful insight into what life can be like for the police.
What’s most powerful in this video is the images of police officers having a face-to-face gun battle with the kill-crazy gunman. These are the men and women @Nike chooses to degrade, disparage, and humiliate. #StandForLawEnforcement http://www.foxnews.com/us/2018/09/08/cincinnati-police-release-footage-gunman-firing-shots-at-anyone-sees.html …

10:49 AM - Sep 8, 2018

Woods is well-known for his wit and commonsense approach.
While some may view him as being a bit brash, when the wildfires were devastating California in 2018, he dedicated his Twitter account to helping families connect with missing loved ones, and to helping the affected locate resources for aid.
But when it comes to the hypocrisies of the establishment media, and their heroes on the left, Woods can be merciless.
