Were he still president, Bill Clinton would have left Hanoi with a signed agreement with Kim Jong-un, proudly taken the credit, and watched his poll numbers bounce up in time for the next election.
Then, gradually, intelligence agencies would have determined that the agreement permitted Kim to continue his nuclear program. Clinton would have, however, lifted sanctions and we would be left without leverage and with nuclear weapons on the Korean peninsula.
But not Donald Trump. He recognized that Kim was not offering enough to lift sanctions. Not by a long shot. And he turned down the deal and walked away.
His walk away will do more, in the long run, to end the problem of North Korea’s nuclear weapons then signing a flawed agreement would ever have done.
Most likely, Kim saw that Trump was facing domestic political trouble. He knew that, even as the two leaders were meeting, Michael Cohen was testifying revealing all about the privileged relationship he had had with Trump. He would know — and doubtless his advisors would have told him — that Trump needed a deal badly to protect himself from his critics in Washington.
Knowing that Trump would need a saving agreement, Kim stiffened his bargaining posture, figuring that the Americans would cave in. But Trump wouldn’t cave. He turned away from the glittering political plum of a deal and demanded real change instead.
The Democrats’ desire to pursue Trump at all costs likely caused Kim to try to get a deal by sleight of hand. Could they not have scheduled Cohen’s testimony a few days later? What would have been the harm?
On a tactical level, President Trump’s show of courage and insistence of a real deal, sends a key message to Kim: The only way to get relief from sanctions is to make real concessions verified by inspection.
Trump’s refusal to cave also underscores the effectiveness of our sanctions on North Korea. If they are enough to bring Kim to the table to negotiate once, they will bring him again. President Trump’s courageous stand and his refusal to bend will force a real peace deal.
Kudos to Trump for doing what Clinton, Obama, and the Bushes failed to do: To stand firm in the face of North Korea’s nuclear ambitions.

Dan Crenshaw isn’t your typical congressman. While many people, even today, still think of “politicians” as stuffy, graying men in suits, the 34-year-old former Navy SEAL is redefining politics with his authenticity and a touch of bada–.
The warrior-turned-lawmaker has already become a bit of a household name, especially after he appeared on “Saturday Night Live” to accept an apology after a joke about his eyepatch and military service fell flat last fall.
That patch, of course, is the consequence of wounds sustained in battle from his time with the SEALs — but instead of being a handicap, it’s come to symbolize Crenshaw and his “happy warrior” ethos.
On Tuesday evening, all eyes were on the State of the Union address. It was the first SOTU for the freshman Texas representative, and Crenshaw made the most of it by making sure that his eyes — well, one at least — were ready for prime-time.
“New SOTU eyepatch coming…” the veteran hinted on Twitter hours before the president’s speech was scheduled to begin.
Social media lit up, with over 5,000 users quickly reacting to the cryptic, four-word post.
The congressman didn’t disappoint.
As he joined other lawmakers from both parties in the Capitol, the former special operator was spotted sporting a stylish accessory that set him apart from the crowd.
“Who is Dan Crenshaw wearing?” Daily Caller reporter and Turning Point USA contributor Benny Johnson posted on Twitter from the Capitol floor.
“A damn handmade wooden eyepatch with an iron Navy SEAL eagle & trident. THATS WHO.”
Sure enough, Johnson shared a photo of Crenshaw looking very much like someone you wouldn’t want to run into in a dark ally, with a custom-made eyepatch stealing the show.
Crenshaw was one of dozens of lawmakers Johnson humorously asked “who are you wearing?” as they made their way to their seats. The Hollywood-style red carpet questions are part of a running joke for the conservative journalist.
Crenshaw, of course, took the gag in good spirits as he laughed and mingled with the audience before the speech.
“Actually it’s not a name brand,” he joked about his suit.
This may seem like a small thing, but it’s actually very important. With all the petty bickering and backstabbing in politics today, it’s refreshing to see people — yes, even politicians — as human beings again.
At the same time, Crenshaw is a sharp reminder to keep moving forward and not see oneself as a victim.
Instead of letting the loss of an eye hold him back, the congressman has shown that he isn’t letting challenges stop him … and he can still poke fun at himself at the same time.
Ilhan Omar Continues her Role as a Foul, Anti-Semitic Fungus in Congress

Remember when I wrote a few weeks ago that Congresscreature Ilhan Omar (D-epraved, MN) was pure, unadulterated evil? Remember when she issued a non-apology after she was roundly condemned – even by her own party – for her anti-Semitic Jew hatred on Twitter? Remember when she proceeded to be a rude, repulsive, despicable toerag toward Elliott Abrams, exhibiting not only a lack of understanding about foreign policy but her derision toward a man who has dedicated his life to service and has taken on one of the most difficult jobs in this administration – as Special Envoy to Venezuela?
Well, she’s not sorry. Not at all. Not for any of it. We have always known this, but Omar apparently believes that her prognazi credentials and her “oppressed minority” status (she’s Muslim, after all, and therefore we allegedly hate and misrepresent her), which she flogs every chance she gets, even when confronted with her own repugnant bigotry, will protect her from criticism.
But… but… but… ISLAMOPHOBIA!
Well, she’s at it again.
First, she walked back her non-apology apology in an interview with the Intercept.
MH: So you since apologized unequivocally for the tweet. You said rightly, that anti-Semitism is real but just to be clear I mean, we’re a few weeks on now. I mean, what were you apologizing for? Was it a badly worded tweet that you apologizing for or was it for being anti-Semitic wittingly or unwittingly?
IO: Absolutely not, I apologized for the way that my words made people feel. Often times, you know, we are in places where someone will say something and they might not know how it makes you feel and it’s not acceptable that once you express to them that this is hurtful or that you have felt attacked by their words. They should acknowledge how you feel. They should speak to that. They should apologize. And you know figure out a way to remedy that situation.
So, Omar absolutely does not feel like she said anything wrong. Jews are, in fact, the money grubbing caricatures the Nazis portrayed them to be. She’s only sorry anyone was upset by her words, not the words themselves. She’s putting the onus on the targets of her vile hatred – the Jews. If they got offended, she’s sorry, but her words are true, according to this toxic, noxious swine. She did not retract her morally abhorrent words. She reaffirmed them, and sorry if you’re insulted, Jews!
I’m sorry your feelings were hurt =/= I should not have made those statements.
Omar knows this, and that’s why she has doubled down on her hatred. Appearing with her fellow anti-Semitic sow Rashida Tlaib at a cafe in Washington, DC the other day, Omar accused Jews of being disloyal to the United States. Jews have dual loyalty, according to Omar – allegiance to a foreign country: Israel.
“So for me, I want to talk about the political influence in this country that says it is okay to push for allegiance to a foreign country,” Rep. Omar exclaimed, seeming to suggest, as Tlaib had in a tweet of her own, dual loyalty among a particular group of Americans. Loud rounds of applause and shouts of affirmation punctuated the event’s heavy focus on Israel.
So people who believe the country of Israel has the right to exist, who appreciate the fact that we have a staunch ally in the Middle East – a tiny sliver of land buried in a sea of terrorist hatred, surrounded by the likes of HAMAS and other armed Shia militants to want to see nothing more than the Jews wiped off the face of the earth – are somehow disloyal to the United States? People who want to ensure that our closest ally in one of the world’s most volatile regions continues to exist are somehow pledging allegiance to a foreign country?
That’s pretty rich coming from a terrorist-fellating slag, who begged for leniency for a group of ISIS supporters a few years ago!
That’s right, a gormless maggot who wanted a US judge to take it easy on nine men who planned to join ISIS – a designated foreign terrorist organization and sworn enemy of the United States – sees it fit to cast doubt on the loyalty to the United States of people who only want the state of Israel to exist in peace.
There is no fixing this, and Omar’s fellow Democrats are finally beginning to realize this.
In a statement in response to Omar’s latest anti-Semitic screed, the Chairman of the House Foreign Affairs Committee Eliot Engel unequivocally showed the world what a disgusting sack of fetid, dripping pig droppings Omar is.

A “vile, anti-Semitic slur” should be an immediate disqualifier from holding a position on the House Foreign Affairs Committee, and Engel appears to agree.
“Her comments were outrageous and deeply hurtful, and I ask that she retract them, apologize, and commit to making her case on policy issue without resorting to attacks that have no place in the Foreign Affairs Committee or the House of Representatives”
But it doesn’t appear that Engel will boot Omar from the Committee anytime soon. Instead of showing some testicular fortitude and removing this reprehensible minge, he whines about how hurtful her comments are and asks her to retract them.
Has Engel not heard a single word Omar has been spewing? Is he not familiar with her history of anti-Semitism and noxious Jew hatred? Is he not aware that Jewish leaders attempted to engage with her last year about her repugnant statements and came away sorely disappointed?
Omar is a cancerous, rancid sore on the bunghole of the world. She will never learn. She will never change. She will continue regurgitating anti-Semitic venom against the JOOOOOOS and then quickly jumping behind her “I’m a poor, oppressed Muslim, and you’re just criticizing me because I wear a rag on my head” shield.
Even if she apologizes, it will just be another insincere non-apology, which she will just walk back in a few weeks after the commotion has died down, and the noxious anti-Semite clock will reset itself to zero, and the smears will begin anew.
Devin Nunes calls for emails, wiretaps, warrants … ‘everything’ Mueller used to be made public with report

In anticipation of Robert Mueller’s final report on the Russia investigation, Rep. Devin Nunes is calling for “everything” the special counsel did to also be revealed to the American people.
The House Intelligence Committee ranking member demanded that “everything that Mueller did” should be made public during an appearance at the Conservative Political Action Conference on Friday.
The California Republican made the remarks even though, he noted, he didn’t think the long-anticipated report expected to be issued to Attorney General Bill Barr would present anything “worthwhile or have anything new.”
“If he does put out a report, you’re gonna see people claiming, ‘Oh we have to have this public, it’s got to be made public.’ That’s fine. But I want everything that Mueller did made public,” Nunes told the Washington Examiner’s Byron York at a session alongside Judicial Watch president, Tom Fitton.
“I want email, I want everybody that they wiretapped, every warrant that they got, every single thing that Mueller used needs to be made public for all of America to see,” he said.

Nunes acknowledged that the unwillingness of the Justice Department to declassify some documents and transcripts in the past was probably an indication of the pushback he will get on his current request. The lawmaker has regularly accused the FBI and Justice Department officials of being biased against President Trump.
“I think the White House is going to ultimately have to get involved in declassifying all documents,” he said.
Fitton called out Mueller’s investigators as “anti-Trumpers,” who don’t need to be writing “another shady dossier.”
“This Justice Department has no business writing reports on the president’s conduct as president,” he added.
“They’re not going to find collusion… [or] obstruction. You’re already seeing them leak out that Mueller’s not going to have anything,” Nunes said.
