Low tide in Edmonds

[By Gabi Campanario in Edmonds, WA] I'm not a summer beach kind of guy. Without a ton of sunscreen, I get sunburned fast. Also, the sand gets on my nerves. It's so sticky and hard to wipe off! But if there's a time when I can tolerate some beach going in the Seattle area, it has to be around the June solstice, when the tides reach their lowest levels and expose a world of marine life that we rarely get to see. I don't mind getting my feet wet then. That's what I did with my daughter at our favorite local beach the other day. As we wandered around the shoreline, I made some sketches on my iPad and turned them into this journal page when we got back home. Maybe they'll inspire you to visit a beach near you soon, even if you are not a beach kind of person.
